In this paper, a wearable device is presented which is designed to monitor the vital signs of young children and detect the possibility of a seizure before it occurs. Epilepsy and seizure disorders affect millions of people worldwide, and young children are particularly vulnerable to these conditions. However, it can be challenging for young children to communicate or recognize the symptoms of a seizure, which can lead to under-diagnosis and delayed treatment. The Seizure Tracker device includes an array of sensors - a biometric sensor hub for heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, a temperature sensor, and an IMU sensor for jerk detection. The device uses a machine learning algorithm based on support vector machines to analyze the sequential data of a person both under normal and seizure conditions and classify the possibility of a seizure with an accuracy of 84%. The macro F1 score of the model on the test set was 0.8191. The misclassification rate of the model was 0.16. © 2023 ieee.

The potential of distributed ledger technology (DLT) to transform various industries, such as healthcare, has been widely acknowledged. Due to the increasing interest in the technology's use in monitoring health data. One of the most important advantages of DLT in monitoring is its ability for creating secure and reliable records. This feature allows for the preservation of sensitive information, and it can be used to protect the data of various individuals. In addition, it can allow researchers and healthcare providers to share information between themselves and other healthcare organizations. One of the main advantages of DLT in the monitoring of health data is its ability to improve interoperability. This technology can help create a decentralized system that will allow healthcare providers to store and share health data. This eliminates the need for central data hubs and enables them to access and use the information they need to improve patient care. Another advantage of DLT in monitoring is it's ability to allow healthcare organizations to use smart contracts. This feature can help them automate various processes, such as drug supply chain management and claims management. Despite the various advantages of DLT in monitoring, there are still many challenges that need to be addressed in order to successfully implement it in the field. One of these is the lack of interoperability. This issue can prevent DLT systems from being able to work seamlessly with other systems. Also, the lack of regulations is a major concern when it comes to the use of DLT in healthcare. The potential of DLT to significantly impact the monitoring industry is immense. Its ability to improve data interoperability and secure storage can lead to the creation of more effective and efficient systems. However, it's important to note that the technology still has a long way to go before it fully realizes its full potential. This paper aims to review the literature on the subject. © 2023 ieee.

The proliferation of loT -enabled gadgets means that ever more information is being created and transmitted over the web. The release of sensitive loT data, however, is a privacy breach. Sensitive information generated by loT devices poses a serious security risk since it is transmitted across an unsecured network. The storage issue may be managed with the help of an external cloud. Cloud storage has the potential to compromise users' privacy. To prevent unauthorised access and maintain confidentiality during data transmission, current systems include symmetric encryption and access restrictions. Blockchain is an exciting distributed ledger technology with the potential to safeguard stored information against manipulation by unscrupulous actors. To protect information from Internet of Things devices, this article suggests using a blockchain-based decentralised access control system. Fog computing and the idea of an alliance chain provide the basis for the suggested approach. In order to encrypt and divide data at the network's edge, fog nodes are employed. Homomorphic encryption is used on the third-party cloud to combine data that has been partitioned and encrypted. The suggested system provides dynamic and granular access control for loT data, mitigating the risk of a single point of failure in access control. Results from experiments showed that this approach effectively protects the confidentiality of data collected from Internet of Things devices. © 2023 ieee.

Voting is a prominent part of the political process, especially in a democratic country like India, where it plays a key role in electing government officials and shaping public policy. Conventional paper-based methods are easy to implement but have considerable limitations, such as security vulnerabilities, paper usage, and the requirement for a large workforce. Common issues such as booth capturing, vote tampering, and manipulation compromise the integrity of elections. To deal with these challenges, blockchain technology offers a solution by providing an immutable and decentralized voting system. This method guarantees that, once added, data cannot be modified, thus preventing manipulation. The decentralized nature of the system allows for continuous availability, as any node failure can be compensated by another node. Moreover, it reduces the need for manual oversight, speeds up the voting process, enhances security and provides transparency, which traditional systems lack. Incorporating blockchain technology into the voting process could significantly enhance the integrity and efficiency of elections, paving the way for a more trustworthy process. © 2024 ieee.

One of the most important systems for smart cities is an edge computing system to facilitate decision-making by using real-time awareness and data analytics. Although existing works focused on the safety of pedestrians, the safety of personalmobility vehicles is what smart cities need to address toward the future. On-board sensors could be easily disabled because of external issues of hardware caused by dirt or snow, internal issues of hardware, and software issues such as malware infection. We propose an edge computing system that supports robust vehicle automation with a sensor network using multiple light-detection-and-ranging (LIDAR) sensors deployed like roadside cameras or indoor security cameras for surveillance for personal-mobility vehicles. We develop a prototype system of the proposed system using real LIDAR units and a mobility scooter and evaluate the system in terms of route errors to verify the feasibility of the proposed system with a scenario where the vehicle is enabled to continue self-driving even when its on-board sensor is disabled.

In-Network computing has brought computing and communication together at every communication node in the digital world, this work lays the foundations for doing the same in the quantum world, improving communication properties in the process - a combination of quantum computing and quantum communication. Full network softwarization, in-network intelligence, and massive connectivity will create an unprecedented demand for computing resources in the digital world. Accordingly, the scientific and industrial communities have begun to explore technologies such as quantum computing and have made significant efforts to demonstrate an algorithmic advantage for various problems. However, practical quantum computers are resource-inefficient and difficult to build. This article introduces a new communication paradigm leading to the concept of quantum in-network computing in the context of entanglement-assisted communication and computing for inherent distributed resilience and sensing. We review the fundamentals of digital hardware as characterized by Turing's computability theory and demonstrate their relevance to mathematically rigorous characterizations of gate-based quantum computing. We then provide such a characterization using methods from effective analysis, leading to significant results that reveal the inherent theoretical limitations of universal gate-based quantum computers. These results support our assessment that gate-based quantum in-network computing is only possible through specialized, non-universal solutions that are seamlessly integrated with high-performance digital computing.

In this comparative research, the effectiveness of LIDAR and ultrasonic sensors two widely used sensors for obstacle avoidance in robot cars was assessed. To compare the accuracy, range, and reaction times of the two types of sensors in detecting obstacles, two obstacle avoidance system was designed and put into use. According to the findings, ultrasonic sensors are less costly and have a faster reaction time than LIDAR. LIDAR which has a higher accuracy and greater range compared to the ultrasonic sensor. However, environmental conditions like sunshine and dust might have an impact on the functioning of LIDAR sensors since they are more sensitive to them. The study concludes that the needs and limitations of the application determine the best sensor for an obstacle avoidance system in a robot automobile. LIDAR is often a good choice for applications that need high precision and a greater range, but ultrasonic sensors are better suited for applications that need quick reaction times and are price sensitive. © 2023 ieee.

In this article, the consensus problem of leader follower nonlinear multi-agent system in directed graph with nonzero leader input is solved. By using relative output information, a distributed observer based adaptive event-triggered protocol is proposed to achieve consensus. However, many results about nonlinear multi-agent systems can only reach a bounded consensus error rather than asymptotically stable, the control protocol in this article can achieve asymptotically stable by adopting appropriate event triggering mechanisms and processing methods. Moreover, the zeno behavior will not exhibit for each agent. At last, several examples validate the efficacy of the above protocol. © 2023 ieee.

For half a century, advancements in semiconductor manufacturing and processor design have propelled the evolution of computer systems, yet power consumption remains a critical challenge for future innovation. Essential for sustainable development and performance gains in AI, big data, and autonomous driving, energy-efficient computing now demands a shift from boosting processing element (PE) performance through frequency increases to improving computational efficiency. This shift has prompted a move from Single- Instruction Multiple-Data (SIMD) to Single-Instruction Multiple- Thread (SIMT) architectures, like GPU s, offering computational speed and energy savings [1]-[3]. Despite SIMD's effectiveness, its limitations necessitate further architectural innovations, such as predicate bits and advanced thread management in GPU s. Our research introduces a dual-instruction multiple-data (DIMD) architecture to enhance PE parallelism efficiently for FPGA overlay architecture. U sing the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) [4], [5] and AI convolution [6] as benchmarks, we demonstrate the proposed architecture's potential for effectively handling complex parallel computations. © 2024 ieee.
