Peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading is an emerging solution for optimizing energy distribution in microgrids that requires utilization of local energy resources such as solar panels and energy storage devices. It is envisaged that energy networking will be capable of balancing energy locally and dealing with significant distributed energy resource (DER) penetration in the future. Adopting energy exchange technology in the microgrid system will develop a dynamic electricity market between peers and supplementing consumer needs with renewable energy sources. This study simulates a P2P energy trading system involving five houses, each equipped with solar panels, energy storage and loads. The objective is to identify sellers and buyers based on their current energy storage levels and calculate the amounts of energy to be traded. MATLAB software is used to simulate different patterns of consumption for every home over a 24-hour period. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of dynamically identifying sellers and buyers based on hourly energy storage levels. Houses with higher initial storage and energy generation during peak hours predominantly acted as sellers, while those with higher consumption rates were identified as buyers. The calculated amounts of energy to be sold and purchased were adjusted, ensuring accurate trading volumes that reflect the present energy supply and demand conditions. This practical simulation provides valuable insights in showcasing how energy can be efficiently distributed within a prosumer. The study contributes to the understanding of instantaneous energy trading mechanisms and highlights the potential for optimized energy management through P2P systems. © 2024 ieee.

In this paper, a Power Flow (PF) algorithm for a Power Distribution System (DS) derived from the conventional backward-forward sweep method is simulated with the integration of Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) based distributed generation. This integration algorithm is based on the load current injection, where the SPV generation is modeled as a negative load injection at one of the nodes of the DS. In this method, the PF solution is obtained by executing both the sweeps in a single step through a Load Current to Bus Voltage (LCBV) matrix. The SPV system is integrated considering an additional inverter node connected to one of the nodes of DS through the SPV interfacing elements. Based on the control specification at the inverter node, it may operate either in PV or PQ mode. The SPV inverter node voltage is computed using an alternate-iterative method in a separate algorithm. The effectiveness of the modified PF algorithm is verified on the balanced DS, considering diverse test systems (ieee-33 node, ieee-69 node DS). The qualitative aspects of the algorithm are analyzed and compared with the existing conventional technique. © 2022 ieee.

Forest fires are one of the problems that endanger the durability of the forest. The occurrence of forest fires has grown significantly throughout the globe in recent years. They are one such catastrophe that puts human and animal lives in substantial risk;it also devastates woodland vegetation. The identification of forest fires as quickly as possible with precise localization and early alerting to fire units being critical. Several detection and monitoring systems have been suggested to achieve this goal, these include observers in monitoring towers, aerial and satellite monitoring, detection, and monitoring systems based on optical camera sensors, and other kinds of detection sensors or their combinations employing WSN (Wireless sensor Network) technology. This paper will reveal the numerous methods that have been utilized to detect forest fires, each methodology has its own set of benefits and drawbacks. After comparing the various methods, we will conclude what is the optimal method to identify a fire in its early stages. © 2023 ieee.

The popularity of Neem Karori Maharaj ji's temple at Kainchi Dham in Uttarakhand has recently increased among people and there is mass increase of tourists at this place throughout the year. The aim of the present paper is to address the problem of over tourism at Kainchi Dham, identify the factors of tourist congestion and recommend tourist management tools for this divine place. The study proposes a sensor model to collate the footfall of tourist throughout the day and display it through a tourism app so that the tourists can observe, analyze and decide the suitable hour for their visit to 'Kainchi Dham'. The footfall sensors can help to record and gauge the peak hours of the day and also the peak footfall days in a week. The aim of this paper is to explore the recent and emerging trends in information and communication technology (ICT) that could change the way tourism businesses and manage tourist influx of a popular tourist destination. The implementation of sensor technology and tools discussed in the paper will help to display real time foot count and prevent overcrowding and visitor congestion at a pilgrimage destination. © 2023 ieee.

With the rapid development of local economy, the form of independent power supply from a single power supply in the power distribution area is difficult to meet the demand for high reliability. The interconnection and power mutual assistance planning of power distribution areas under large-scale distributed photovoltaic access have attracted widespread attention. Due to the randomness and volatility of distributed photovoltaics, its different access methods and capacities will affect the safe and stable operation and power mutual assistance capabilities of the distribution area. In order to study the site selection and capacity planning problem of distributed photovoltaics, this paper builds a site selection and capacity model based on the three-phase power flow equation with the maximum external power of the station area as the optimization goal and the safe operation of the distribution area as constraints. Furthermore, an optimization method for distributed photovoltaic site selection and capacity based on improved particle swarm algorithm is proposed. Finally, this paper verified the effectiveness of the optimization method through simulation analysis on the ieee33 three-phase grid model. The simulation results show that this method of site selection and capacity determination can achieve maximum power transmission in the power distribution area while ensuring the safe and stable operation of the area. © 2024 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this paper, the power quality problems faced by electric vehicle (EV) charging stations has been discussed. A distributed energy system consisting of stATCOM has been proposed to overcome the power quality challenges. To support the idea, the conventional system without stATCOM and the proposed system are simulated in MATLAB Simulink for various power quality contingencies tests like voltage swell, voltage sags by introducing faults on the test bed. © 2022 ieee.

The growing amount of data generated at the edge of the network, e.g., by Internet of Things (IoT) devices, made it indispensable to relocate computational power close to the data source. Meanwhile, data tends to accumulate in chunks and is frequently subject to resource-intensive transformations, such as privacy enforcement. These phenomena, which are summed up as "data gravity" and "data friction", have an impact on data processing and the overall system. However, whereas cloud centers are able to dynamically adapt services, e.g., by provisioning additional resources, edge devices provide fewer options to react to changing workloads. To retain the option to process data locally, we present the idea of controlling data gravity and friction with Service Level Objectives (SLOs). We introduce Markov SLO Configurations (MSCs) as a novel approach to organizing performance metrics and elasticity strategies. MSCs, in conjunction with our presented architecture, enable the evaluation of SLOs, the context-based selection of elasticity strategy (i.e., corrective measures), and the execution of strategies directly on edge devices. Thus, we lay the foundation for a new generation of SLOs that can operate across multiple elasticity dimensions, e.g., by scaling quality of service (QoS).

Wireless rechargeable sensor networks (WRSNs), which benefit from recent breakthroughs in Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) technology, emerge as very promising for network lifetime extension. Traditional methods concentrate on system performance improvement while little attention has been paid to security, making them vulnerable to novel attacks. In this paper, we develop a novel Charging Spoofing Attack (CSA), in which a mobile charger (MC) is charging a node intuitively. Nevertheless, it is launching an attack based on the nonlinear superposition principle of electromagnetic waves, causing the target node to be unable to receive any energy and finally exhausted in vain. First, we explain and model the nonlinear superposition effect through experiments, which points out the potential of launching such a novel attack. Second, we formalize the attacking problem as a charging uTility optimization problem with key noDe timE window constraints (TIDE). Then, we propose an approximation algorithm termed CSA to solve the TIDE problem with a bounded performance guarantee. Theoretical analyses are presented to exploit the feature of CSA. Finally, to demonstrate the outperformed features of our scheme, extensive simulations and test-bed experiments are conducted, revealing that CSA can exhaust at least 80% of key nodes without being detected.

The proteomics data analysis pipeline based on the shotgun method requires efficient data processing methods. The parallel algorithm of mass spectrometry database search faces the problems of rapidly expanding database size but low scalability. The heterogeneous database search algorithm based on deep learning is an effective way to solve this problem. still, the deep learning-based distributed parallel database search algorithm is lacking. This paper analyzes the database searching computational load using a neural network and designs ReSLB, a workflow for the restricted search of mass spectrometry data based on GPU cluster and neural network scoring algorithm. This work aims to ensure the high scalability of future deep learning-based mass spectrometry distributed databases. In the performance estimation of 256 GPUs, the load imbalance of less than 30% and the parallel efficiency of 60% are achieved. Compared with state-of-the-art, the time cost is reduced by 75%, and the parallel efficiency from 1 to 256 GPUs is 3.6x higher than that. © 2022 ieee.
