This research study provides an overview of the effort that went into developing reliable 'Wireless sensor networks' for IoT applications, including both theoretical study and practical testing. The report also includes the findings of an analysis of variance and regression analysis, which pinpoint the significance of such aspects as network architecture, traffic load, and ambient conditions on the performance of Wireless sensor Network (WSN). Finally, study provides a discussion on the future research directions, as well as the design and implementation of a Wireless sensor Network (WSN) for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. © 2023 ieee.

Recently wireless sensor network(WSN) based technologies are being implemented at the magnifying rate for different application fields. WSN is particularly beneficial for obtaining data concerning events. Energy-saving is a crucial problem in WSN since nodes are battery-powered and cannot be replaced. Therefore designing an energy-efficient routing algorithm with high reliability and minimized data loss has become essential. Many researchers have concentrated on this issue. In this paper, we categorize the most prevalent routing protocols into two groups: static sink-based routing protocol and mobile sink-based routing protocol. We analyze these two groups of algorithms based on three parameters: energy efficiency, data delivery in time, and reliability. The merits and demerits of each protocol are listed in tabular form in our paper. Finally, we wrap up this paper with a few suggested extensions that need more investigation. © 2022 ieee.

This article covers the Ghat Road Protection Alerting System, with the main goal of developing an Arduino-based IoT system. The use of this warning system makes the drive on ghat roads and mountainous area roads more comfortable and safer. On a ghat path when a vehicle approaches from either way, two IR-based sensors detect it and send a warning signal to the vehicle in the other direction;the same information may also be updated in the Android app. This research proposed to use two infrared sensors, an Arduino board, a buzzer, and status indicators red and green in the construction of the prototype model. The emerging Vehicle Accident Prevention System by employing three approaches that are collision warning detection, vehicle speed detector using an IR sensor, LCD 16x2, and Arduino Uno in this system detects over speeding cars on the highway. This research work enhances safety when navigating through Ghat section by employing IR sensors and LEDs to alert automobiles arriving from the opposite side. The proposed technique can efficiently prevent the accidents. © 2022 ieee

Islanding detection is one of the critical concerns in distributed generations (DGs)-based micro-grids from a protection point of view. This paper presents an active islanding detection method based on high-frequency installation. The impact of optimally tuned filters integrated at DGs terminals on islanding detection is investigated. The objective of the proposed technique is to achieve a minimized non-detection zone (NDZ), moderate false detection during load switching, and improvement in accuracy of detection in comparison to other traditional methods. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified by simulation of a nine bus test system following the requirements of ieee 1547 standards. To make the proposed approach feasible for implementation in real-time conditions, different test cases are considered and the comparative results reveal the efficacy in terms of better detection speed, detection accuracy, and minimized NDZ. © 2022 ieee.

In federated learning (FL), client models rather than the training data are uploaded to the aggregation server, so that clients can participate in a learning process while maintaining their privacy. however, there is still a possibility that the client's data can be inferred from the aggregated model. Also, when the aggregation server fails, the learning process is interrupted. P2P FL systems that eliminate a single point of failure or enable secure aggregation have also been proposed, but they have scalability issues due to the high communication cost. In this paper, we therefore propose a scalable, secure and fault tolerant aggregation system for P2P FL. By introducing a two layer network which consists of the Secure Average Computation (SAC) layer and Federated Averaging (FedAvg) layer, our system achieves both the privacy protection of participating peers and the reduction of total communication cost. We also propose a fault-tolerant SAC to handle peer dropouts during aggregation. As a backend to the above system, we propose a two-layer Raft, which successfully improves the fault tolerance against random peer crashes. Experimental results show that our two -layer aggregation system outperforms the original SAC in terms of the communication cost and fault tolerance with the comparable accuracy, slow subgroups in SAC layer do not affect the overall accuracy and our Iwo-layer Raft maintains availability by quickly detecting a crashed leader and replacing it with new one. The analysis shows that our system consisting of 30 peers reduces communication costs by 10.36x while providing fault torelance.

This research study explores the wireless sensor networking, where sensor data is transmitted to a local database via a nearby server. The primary focus of this research study is real-time environment monitoring systems and wireless control and actuation systems. This research study incorporates the DHT 11 (Temperature and Humidity) and MQ-6 (LPG Gas) sensors. Selecting an appropriate controller is crucial to attaining desired system attributes like high-speed precision and meeting requirements for precise motion control at high speeds. That is why the ESP-8266-based NodeMCU is adopted for this ***, both feedback and feedforward closed-loop control mechanisms are implemented. As a result, the system can either control the actuator itself or by user demand. Leveraging sensor-derived data, the controller can automatically trigger the actuation system precisely within estimated time. Further, this study also depicts a clear differentiation between conventional methods and the proposed novel approach. Moreover, an IP (Internet Protocol) based monitoring system allows to monitor the sensor-derived data instantly, even without internet connectivity. Notably, the entire system operates on solar power, ensuring uninterrupted functionality even during power outages. © 2023 ieee.

More recently, it has become possible to run deep learning algorithms on edge devices such as microcontrollers due to continuous improvements in neural network optimization algorithms such as quantization and neural architecture search. Nonetheless, most of the embedded hardware available today still falls short of the requirements of running deep neural networks. As a result, specialized processors have emerged to improve the inference efficiency of deep learning algorithms. However, most are not for edge applications that require efficient and low-cost hardware. Therefore, we design and prototype a low-cost configurable sparse Neural Processing Unit (NPU). The NPU has a built-in buffer and a reshapable mixed-precision multiply-accumulator (MAC) array. The computing and memory resources of the NPU are parameterized, and different NPUs can be derived. Besides, users can also configure the NPU at runtime to fully utilize the resources. In our experiments, the 200MHz NPU with only 32 MACs is more than 32 times faster than the 400MHz stM32H7 when inferring MobileNet-V1. Besides, the yielded NPUs can achieve roofline or even beyond roofline performance. The buffer and reshapeable MAC array push the NPU's attainable performance to the roofline, while the feature of supporting sparsity allows the NPU to obtain performance beyond the roofline.

Large-scale integration of distributed Energy Resources (DERs) into power grids reduces the system inertial response. Reduced inertial response results in high Rate-of-Change-of-Frequency (RoCoF) and poses operational challenges regarding the grid frequency stability. The need for Fast Frequency Response (FFR) like Synthetic Inertia Control (SIC) is recognized globally as one of the potential solutions to this challenge. This paper proposes a novel SIC control strategy in an islanded microgrid framework with DERs like wind, photovoltaic, Energy storage systems (ESS), Diesel generator and inverters. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is applied to tune the SIC droop, the damping and inverter the time constant. Furthermore, a PID controller is implemented for fine tuning of the synthetic inertia constants. The proposed approach is examined in a control area with distinct degrees of DERs and load. Case studies and numerical results demonstrate about 94% improvement in RoCoF and 72% improvement in the frequency nadir. © 2022 ieee.

In the next for coming sixth-generation (6G) networks, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) networks emerges with different Internet of Everything (IoE) applications and services. With the UAVs it is possible to move closer in smart environments due to which it significantly aids in IoE computing with low latency and data is collected efficiently. In particular the different locations data collaboratively collected with the UAVs over smart cities. Various AI techniques also emerges which improves the data delivery using global communication to enhance the operational performance. UAV enabled IoE performances are still at their infant stages;consequently, UAV enables IoE applications needs to more emphasizing for improving for 6G networks. This paper aims to explore the latest contributions in the development of methods and mechanisms for UAV enabling IoE. It includes the current trends how the IoT converges to smarter IoE, challenges, and risks in the Internet of Everything © 2023 ieee.

The advances in robotics are often inspired by biological systems, which have attained harmonised functionality and efficiency through billions of years of evolution. Motivated by the nature, this paper presents the realisation of sensorimotor correlation using printed synaptic transistor. While such a concept has drawn increasing attention recently, no report on the adopted technology details has been published. To this end, this paper specifically presents the technical elements for the practical realisation of the concept through printed synaptic transistor and the development of the conditioning printed circuit board (PCB) for operating the as-realised device. This work presents a possible roadmap for the future advancement towards e-Skin with neural-like processing capability through a heterogeneous integration of printed circuits on flexible PCBs.
