Wireless sensor Networks are a type of device that converts any of the physical quantity to an understandable, and observable quantity. sensors are lightweight and distributed in large numbers to monitor the type of system and environment around them. Wireless sensor Networks are deployed in many areas like agriculture, military security surveillance, animal husbandry and tracking, smart surroundings and buildings, health sciences of patient monitoring and care, air pressure temperature around us, noise levels, and many others. This paper tells various executions and uses of WSNs with military surveillance and security systems.

Recently, the wireless sensor network has surpassed all others in popularity due to its ability to collect data on its surrounding environment and transmit that data for further processing. Energy usage and security concerns are just two of the major obstacles to WSN adoption. Many other kinds of attacks, some more sophisticated than others, might be launched against WSNs, wreaking havoc by disrupting communication or wiping out private information. Since the deployment of networks is becoming increasingly large and complex, there is a pressing need for intrusion detection-based energy-efficient techniques. The efficiency of the networks is evaluated with the help of Qualnet simulation. The purpose of this research is to use MATLAB Simulink to optimise the artificial neural network component of the energy-based intrusion detection method. In this study, we demonstrate how an optimal approach inspired by biological nervous systems can boost intrusion detection in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In addition, unprotected nodes degrade network efficiency and disrupt normal operation. Regression analysis for both approaches can identify differences between states in which all nodes are protected and those in which some are not. A Node could be identified in an artificial neural network using the ratio of packet deliveries and the amount of energy used. © 2022 ieee.

This paper proposes the use of the Horse Herd Optimisation (HHO) algorithm in the analysis of the optimal sizing of DG units in the distribution system. As more distributed Generation (DG) is incorporated into power distribution networks, proper sizing and location of DG units is important for improving system performance. HHO algorithm derived from the herd behavior and self-organizing characteristics of horses is used for proper positioning and dimensioning of distributed Generation units in order to minimize loss and improve voltage profile. HHO is better than conventional PSO methods in terms of exploration-exploitation trade-off making it more appropriate for complex optimization. The performance of the proposed method is tested on the ieee 33-bus test system in MATLAB. This research confirms HHO as an effective meta heuristic for DG optimization and opens the way for more effective and reliable power systems.

This paper deals with the problem of automating a distributed sensor system in a greenhouse complex. When solving this problem, attention should be paid to a number of factors: stability of the entire system under different conditions, ease of deployment, energy efficiency, cost, scalability, monitoring the state of the system, etc. To solve the problem under consideration, a configurable decentralized system was implemented with a heterogeneous network of star topology. In the proposed architecture, the network consists of three layers. The connection between the first and the second level is organized using Wi-Fi technology, and between the second and third levels—using LoRa technology, with an add-on developed for it that minimizes the amount of transmitted data and organizes the reliability of data transmission. For scalability and simplification of the system installation, a system for configuring nodes was developed, and for the convenience of organizing data storage and replacing faulty modules, unique identifiers assigned by the server are used. According to the proposed solution, a prototype of the system was implemented used to analyze its capabilities. During operation, it showed that the system complies with the requirements put forward for it, and showed the following transmitter settings, which should be paid attention to in case of a large scale up of the system in a confined space: radio frequency, spreading factor, and bandwidth modulation. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

With the continuous increase in population, the electricity demand is also increasing. Hence to meet this demand various methods were formulated, among which distributed Generation (DG) is one of the method. Reduction in power losses and providing clean energy are advantages of installation of DG. Load flow methods of transmission system when applied to distribution system do not converge due to the fact that they have high R/X. In this paper load flow is carried out using a load flow method where two matrices namely Bus Injection to Branch Current (BIBC) and Branch Current to Bus Voltage (BCBV) are formulated. Genetic Algorithm (GA), a heuristic approach is used to determine the best location for DG placement. Load flow and GA are tested on 33 bus and 69 bus radial distribution system. The test results show the best location for the DG to be placed. © 2021 ieee

With the rise of distributed Energy Resources (DER), the grid-forming inverter (GFMI) has become a key focus area in modern power systems. This paper presents a comparative performance analysis of two GFMIs controlled_by similar and different controls (Droop and Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) control) integrated with D-stATCOM based on settling time, stability with the effect of PI gains of D-stATCOM's controller. This study finds that Droop controlled GFMIs settle faster than Droop-VSG and VSG controlled GFMIs. However, Droop-VSG provides the least peak overshoots to D-stATCOM. The increased PI gain values of a controller of D-stATCOM provide faster stability of the system. The analysis is conducted using MATLAB/Simulink.

Smart car parking management system integration is a necessary component of transforming current infrastructure into smart cities. Finding parking spaces becomes more difficult, especially in cities with large population densities, such as metropolitan areas. The issue of finding parking spaces in mall and complex basement parking is due to inadequate spaces and inappropriate parking space use. Thus, this paper aims to offer a solution that uses mobile apps and the Internet of Things (IoT). The goal is to direct people to the unoccupied parking slot with the guided route. This system consists of an LCD, a servo motor, LEDs, a Wi-Fi-enabled ESP32 module, an Arduino ATmega2560, and IR sensors. The Arduino ATmega2560 microcontroller is used to gather and interpret real-time sensor data, and The LEDs are utilized for indoor navigation to identify the location of available parking slots. The ESP32 Wi-Fi module then transmits the parking information data to the Blynk cloud, which can be accessed through the Blynk smartphone app. The system prototype has been put through actual testing to ensure that it is both functional and applicable. The findings illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed system in monitoring parking space occupancy and delivering real-time data to the Blynk cloud server.

Processes in classic life sciences laboratories are characterized by the handling of a wide variety of chemicals and solvents. Leaks or accidents when handling the samples and labware can result in the uncontrolled escape of these often harmful or explosive substances. The monitoring of the gas concentrations in the room air of the laboratories is therefore of particular importance. In this research paper, the integration and testing of two metal oxide semiconductor gas sensors are presented. The sensors have been combined with a low-cost IoT-based microcontroller in a small sensor node to transfer the collected sensors data from the sensor node to the IoT cloud which is responsible for data processing, storing, and monitoring. The sensor node was attached to a mobile robot. The sensor node was tested with six different volatile organic solvents (VOCs). Two gas leakage positions were used to evaluate the sensor's performance in different leakage situations and distances. Five solvent volumes were investigated to differentiate the sensor's response and to select the active detecting thresholds for triggering an alarm in case of a dangerous level of toxic/ hazardous gases level detected. © 2022 ieee.

Non-conventional based distributed generation system serves a prominent part in the production of electricity. distributed Generation (DG) based non-conventional sources of electricity, along with the use of fuel cells and micro turbines will provide significant momentum in the upcoming years. Advantages such as environmentally sustainable, extensibility and flexibility have made DG, an inspiring option for existing power network setups now a days. This study analyzes the operation of Fuel Cell network as a sustainable energy resource. Fuel cell is installed across the inverter side and is supposed to provide real power to the distribution network. Benefits of using the hybrid Fractional order PI controller (FOPI) are shown. The purpose of FOPI is to mitigate the power quality issues and to maintain best regulation to the system's power supply. Based on systematic simulation outcomes using MATLAB/SIMULINK, it has been shown that the performance of the hybrid controller is quite satisfactory. © 2021 ieee

Recent development in implantable devices for electrical brain stimulation includes sensing and embedded computing capabilities that enable adaptive stimulation strategies. Applications include stimulation triggered by pathologic brain activity and endogenous rhythms, such as circadian rhythms. We developed and tested a system that integrates an electrical brain stimulation & sensing implantable device with embedded computing and uses a distributed system with commercial electronics, smartphone and smartwatch for patient annotations, extensive behavioral testing, and adaptive stimulation in subjects in their natural environments. The system enables precise time synchronization of the external components with the brain stimulating device and is coupled with automated analysis of continuous streaming electrophysiology synchronized with patient reports. The system leverages a real-time bi-directional interface between devices and patients with epilepsy living in their natural environment. © 2022 ieee.
