Printed Carbon Nanotubes-Based Flexible Resistive Humidity sensor

A resistive flexible humidity sensor based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was designed and fabricated. Screen and gravure printing processes were used for monolithically fabricating the humidity sensor containing interdigitated electrodes (IDE), a sensing layer and a meandering conductive heater. An average thickness and surface roughness of 0.99 mu m and 0.23 mu m, respectively, was registered for the printed MWCNTs sensing layer. The capability of the printed sensor, with heater, was investigatedby subjecting it to relative humidity (RH) ranging from 10% to 90%. The response demonstrated an overall resistance change of 55% when the sensor was subjected to 90% RH, when compared to 10% RH. A maximum hysteresis of 5.1%, at 70% RH, was calculated for the resistive response of the sensor. The printed sensors can be bend with radius of curvature of 1.5 inch with literally no effect.

The future source of energy generation technologies is the Distribution Generation (DG), which allows the bidirectional flow of power within an electrical system. Many challenges have to be faced by the researchers to implement accurate and protected schemes for DG connected Distribution Network. This new technology uses distributed generators varying from kW to MW at the load side, whereas the traditional centralized generator units sized from 100 MW to GW, which are located far away from the loads, where the natural resources are available. This paper gives the survey of various distributed Generation systems which are practically coming into existence and getting added to the electric power generation. DGs along with their benefits, impacts, advantages and applications in the current energy world in the electrical power system are presented. © 2020 ieee.

This work presents the development of novel fluorinated graphene (FG)-based resistive humidity sensor. The humidity sensor was fabricated by drop-casting FG suspension, as the humidity sensing material, on silver (Ag)-based interdigitated electrodes (IDEs). The silver-based IDEs were screen printed on a flexible polyimide substrate. The FG suspension was synthesized by uniform dispersion of FG in isopropyl alcohol (IPA), using the ultra-sonication process. The resistive response of the fabricated humidity sensors towards varying relative humidity (RH) levels was investigated, when the RH was varied from 20% to 80%, in steps of 10%, and at a temperature of 24 degrees C. A relative resistance change of 13.3% was observed when the RH was changed from 20% to 80%, with a sensitivity of 0.22%/%RH for the FG-based humidity sensor. Response time and recovery time of 82 s and 125 s, respectively, was obtained for the fabricated sensor. In addition, the effect of varying operating temperatures on the response of the fabricated humidity sensors was investigated. The average temperature coefficient of resistance of sensors was obtained as approximately -0.3%/degrees C. A linear relation between the temperature and the relative resistance change of sensors was observed. Further, first-principles study, employing density functional theory calculations, was performed to investigate interactions between the fluorine atom and graphene substrate, as well as humidity sensing behavior of the FG. DFT calculations showed that hydrogen atoms of the water molecule move towards the fluorine atom of the FG during the relaxation process, confirming the hydrogen bonding between FG and water molecules. The E-ads of -0.50 eV was calculated for the adsorption of water molecule on the FG, demonstrating the strong humidity sensing property of the FG. The results demonstrate that FG, a highly stable derivative of graphene, is a potential material for humidity sensing applications.

The adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) has made possible remote networking of a diverse and broad spectrum of applications from the microscopic to the industrial scale. Agricultural science is rapidly evolving along with the need to apply more cost-effective techniques and equipment that would make this science more productive and efficient. The deployment of wireless technologies would be an essential factor that will facilitate small farm holders to reach these goals in the farming ecosystem, such as arable land usage, asset tracking and management, natural environment and crop monitoring. Due to the limited resources of wireless sensor network nodes, they possess generally weak defense capabilities and are often the target of malware attacks. Attackers can capture or infect specific sensor nodes and propagation malware to other sensor nodes in WSNs through node communication. This can eventually infect an entire network system and even cause paralysis. Based on epidemiological theory, we propose a malware propagation model suitable for cluster-based WSNs to analyze the propagation dynamic of malware. The model focuses on the data transmission characteristics between different nodes in a cluster-based network and considers the actual application parameters of WSNs such as nodes communication radius, nodes distributed density and nodes death rate. In particular, we derive the basic reproductive number, equilibrium point and its stability of the model. We found that a basic reproductive number of less than 1 leads to the eventual disappearance of malware, which provides a deep insight into the design of defense strategies against such threats. We conducted numerical experiments to validate our theory and also examined the influence of WSN parameters on malware propagation. © 2020 ieee.

Precision Agriculture (PA) is an approach to farm management that aims to develop a sustainable agriculture that optimizes crop growth decisions by increasing yields and profitability of production for the farmer. Research in this context has confronted several challenges: dynamism of crop growth management, which makes it a complex problem and difficult to model, lack of qualified agronomic services and absence of site-specific fertilizer recommendations. The proposed solution in this paper aims to provide crop recommendations for the use of fertilizers, irrigation duration... by the adoption of multi-agent systems (MAS) that will overcome the complexity of the problem. In addition, we opted for wireless sensor network (WSN) to collect data on the agricultural environment, such as temperature, moisture, humidity and light. This solution divided into four parts, starting with receiving data from the sensor, filtering these data, visualizing and controlling components and finally arriving at the mining stage as a decision support system. In this article, our simulation was in Lokoss region in order to establishing a predictive analysis on the impact of climatic change on red fruits. © 2020 ieee.

The IoT is the next age of communication, as the rapidity of connecting physical objects around us to the internet is mounting swiftly. The inanimate physical devices can be empowered to create, receive, and exchange data into information networks to provide highly developed intelligent services without any human intervention. The future IoT applications are extremely promising with an enhanced level of automation, efficiency, and comfort for the users. To actualize such a world in an ever-developing mold requires enhanced user privacy, authentication, and high information security from attacks. This paper presents a characteristic examination of an anomaly detection system for successfully classifying hostile events by distinguishing them from normal activities within the distributed Smart Space Orchestration System (DS2OS) traffic pattern associated with network operations. We presented a supervised meta algorithm-based approach known as Bagging (Bootstrap Aggregation) for classifying and handling various malicious operations on the network. This paper describes most affluent machine learning classifiers k-Nearest Neighbor(k-NN), Decision Tree(DT), Random Forest(RF), and Extra Trees Classifier(ETC) to progress the efficiency of the DS2OS dataset by acquiring through a proper training phase for the static idealization of normal and anomalous network behavior. An essential function of the spread sensor network is time synchronization. This paper presents a novel iterative node-pair time synchronization (INTS) algorithm that assists the sensor nodes in collaborating with the anchor node in synchronizing its clock. Even though the clocks on anchor and the sensor nodes are presumed to set to the universal time, they invariably have a different offset. However, in the present formulation, we make a simplifying assumption that all the anchor clocks and all the sensor clocks run at the same speed and taken as one. The varying clock offsets could lead to inconsistencies in data gathering in a distributed environment. A synchronization mechanism for a global ordering of the packets generated at different nodes is essential. Bounded but variable delays during the exchange of message packets between the sensor nodes prevent the determination of the exact clock offsets between the anchor transmitting node and the senor receiving nodes. Our algorithm tries to handle this problem by limiting the uncertainty bounds to minimum application-specific value by an iterative method.
