Continuous monitoring is a major component of many applications in wireless sensor network (WSN). In these applications, to reduce the communication overhead, some form of data summary or aggregation can be performed. However, performing non-trivial in-network data processing such as finding frequent items, Top-K monitoring, and clustering efficiently are challenging in practice. In this paper, we present Low-Power Distinct Sum (LDS), a distributed in-network data aggregation primitive that performs the sum of unique items in WSN. LDS serves as the underlying primitive that can be used to implement many distributed data processing efficiently. To demonstrate LDS's capabilities, we design and implement a distributed data streaming application with LDS running on Contiki OS. Compared to the baseline algorithm, LDS can reduce the completion time by up to 66%.

The explosive growth of the IoT networks relies heavily on sensor based networks, where resource efficiency is paramount due to limited battery resources. Novel approach for efficient data aggregation and cluster routing in IoT WS networks, leveraging the Weighted Chimp Optimization Algorithm (WCOA). The WCOA, inspired by the social behaviour of chimpanzees, excels in balancing exploration and exploitation during optimization, leading to efficient solutions. Our design integrates WCOA with a hierarchical clustering scheme. Initially, WCOA dynamically selects cluster heads (CHs) considering remaining energy, node centrality, and distance to the sink station. Subsequently, WCOA optimizes intra-cluster communication by constructing energy-efficient routing paths for cluster member nodes to transmit data to CHs. Finally, data aggregation at CHs minimizes redundant information before transmission to the sink, further conserving energy. Through extensive simulations, we compare our WCOA-based approach with existing clustering and routing protocols. The results demonstrate substantial increases in network lifetime, energy consumption, data aggregation efficiency, and packet delivery. Notably, our approach extends network lifetime by up to 30% while reducing energy consumption by 25% compared to baseline protocols. © 2024 ieee.

In a deregulated power system congestion management is a major issue of concern. In respect of transmission line losses, optimal power flow , operating limits of a power network are the main research attentions in the restricted power *** today's scenario, transaction of power becomes more significant due to increase in demand of customers and it becomes challenging to meet the requirement. As a result increased stress on transmission system line flow limits may violates, threat to voltage security also increases the risk of power system stability. Hence, for continuous and secure power flow n the transmission lines it is more significant that the generated electrical energy is transmitted as well as distributed proficiently in order to fulfill power *** rescheduling the generators, this research paper introduces a new hybrid optimization algorithm named as PSOGSA for eliminating of congestion from the congested transmission lines. The exploitation and exploration phases are the two main processes that this metaheuristic optimization algorithm followed. The exploitation phase uses the PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) method to determine the fitness value, and the GSA (Gravitational Search method) is utilized to evaluate the fitness new position. The suggested method results are compared with an unmanaged network, such as the ieee 30 bus system. Compared to PSO, this suggested method, PSOGSA, offered a superior solution. © 2024 ieee.

Among the key concepts for 5G+ networks is 'network slicing,' in which operators partition specific areas of physical resources from the connectivity edge to data centers. The operators are accountable for the complex management of resource distribution among clients, who are subject to predetermined service-level agreements (SLAs). Deep neural networks, also called DNN s, are recommended in recent research to monitor tenant demand and effectively scale resources. But there is a major problem with edge resources, like Radio Access Networks (RAN), which makes it difficult for operators to scale those assets quickly-often in milliseconds-and makes it impractical to send large amounts of data to the cloud for DNN-based computations. We suggest a distributed-DNN architecture designed for a certain class of issues in order to overcome these difficulties. A portion of the DNN tiers at the network edge serve as a quick, independent resource allocator in this design. In addition, a Bayesian method that intelligently assigns a portion of the more complicated judgements to other DNN layers running remotely over the cloud complements this. Our method seeks to achieve a compromise between the computing demands of handling massive amounts of data in a cloud-based setting and the need for quick decision-making at the edge. We investigate the combined training and deployment of this distributed-DNN using the publically accessible Milano dataset, showing its effectiveness in handling a maximum of sixty percent of allocation choices locally. Crucially, the overall allocations cost is either little affected or not affected at all by this local decision-making. © 2024 ieee.

Currently, integrating battery energy storage system (BESS) with the renewable energy resources is one of the potential ways to maintain the quality and reliability of the power system. This paper investigates the recent advancements and challenges in grid connected BESS. Short overviews of the mechanical, electrical, electrochemical, chemical, and thermal BESS technologies are provided. The presentation includes a review of typical power converter topologies, such as transformer-based, transformer less with distributed or common dc-link, and hybrid systems, as well as a few observations on how to integrate advanced grid support features into the BESS control. This article explores new technologies, such as flexible photovoltaic system power regulation, hydrogen, and their applications in second-life electric vehicle (EV) batteries. Finally challenges in implementing and managing grid connected BESSs are explored are discussed. © 2024 ieee.

In recent years, Integration of Photovoltaic (PV) cells with distributed networks play a crucial role due to their capability to enhance the sustainability of renewable natural energy resources. Even though there is advantage still this system generates significant challenges for grid planning such as incorporating multiple distributed energy resources, and ensuring scalability for larger networks and thus it is essential to develop a grid planning system using hybrid optimization techniques. However, the intermittency and variability of PV generation pose significant challenges for grid planning, requiring advanced optimization techniques to ensure stability and efficiency. This paper suggest a novel hybrid approach using combination of optimization techniques such as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Improved Beetle Antenna Search-Based Sparrow Search Algorithm (IBASSA) for grid planning with distributed photovoltaic access which is validated through bus (33) of ieee Radial Distribution System (RDS). Here, PSO is incorporated because of its capability of fast convergence and IBASSA is imposed due to its characteristic behavior enhance global search function and avoid local optima. The proposed hybrid approach is evaluated using the metrics power loss and min voltage values that gave spectacular results when compared with existing models such as genetic algorithm. © 2024 ieee.

Integrating distributed Generation (DG) sources and Electric Vehicles (EVs) into radial distribution systems (RDS) is a promising approach to enhancing power system efficiency and reliability. This trend is driven by the deregulation of the electric power sector and technical constraints in extending distribution and transmission networks to some areas. By carefully selecting the optimal location and sizing for DG sources and electric vehicles (EVs), it is possible to minimize system losses, improve voltage profiles, and enhance overall reliability. This study suggests the integration of multiple DGs and EV s into the system and how the PLoss get affected along with voltage profiles. However, the PLoss increase if the number of DGs exceeds their optimal level. This study integrates 3 DGs and 3 EVs into the RDS separately. The location of the DGs and EVs are obtained with the help of the voltage stability index, and sizes were obtained using the Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA). It is implemented into the ieee 33 test system to verify its robustness and effectiveness. The results show a loss reduction of 41.96%, 57.52%, and 64.73% for the ieee bus system with the integration of one, two and three DGs, respectively and a slight increase in power loss concerning EV integration as the system load increases. In addition, the voltage stability index is improved significantly for DGs but was affected in the case of EVs. © 2024 ieee.

The evaluation of the Power-Efficient Communication Technique (PECT) involves a two-step process. First, a custom C program calculates optimal transmission powers for each sensor node based on the network size (Qn) and data packet frequency (FPkt), aiming to minimize energy consumption while ensuring reliable communication. These powers are then implemented in the Castalia network simulator, chosen for its accurate modeling of wireless channels and energy consumption. Simulations track metrics like energy use and successful packet transmission. Results show PECT maintains over 90% data packet reception, though -25 dBm power sees increased packet loss. PECT achieves similar power consumption to -15 dBm, with only 1.82% higher consumption, and offers a 36.7% energy savings per node compared to 0 dBm, especially notable with Qn = 8. Beyond the Low Transmission Power Duty (LTPD), CPU and peripheral power consumption rise significantly at higher frequencies. PECT's simplicity, portability, and node independence make it suitable for any network topology, demonstrating its potential for energy-efficient WSN communication. © 2024 ieee.

Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) have limited resources, it is critical to ensure data transmission that is both dependable and energy-efficient. This study provides a unique Transport Protocol designed specifically for WSNs in order to tackle this difficulty. The protocol has been carefully crafted to address the intrinsic constraints of wireless sensor networks (WSNs), including energy scarcity and communication failures, while preserving a high degree of data delivery dependability. Fundamentally, the protocol optimizes energy usage and reliability in data transmission by combining cutting-edge error control methods with energy-efficient routing strategies. By encoding packets with redundant information,our protocol makes use of forward error correction techniques to improved at a reliability. This allows receivers to recover from packet losses without having to re-transmit. In order to reduce energy consumption and extend network lifetime, it also uses energy-aware routing algorithms that cleverly control node energy levels and choose energy-efficient paths. We assess the efficacy of the suggested protocol by comprehensive simulations in a range of WSN situations, including dense and sparse deployment conditions. Our findings reveal its efficacy in facilitating dependable and energy-efficient data transfer, highlighting its potential to improve the resilience and sustainability of WSN deployments in practical applications. © 2024 ieee.

False medications are a serious risk, threatening lives and undermining confidence. This research paper offers an innovative approach to fight counterfeiting and transform the transparency of the pharmaceutical supply chain combining blockchain technology with data matrix code. Consumers with cell phones can easily verify the validity of products by using unique data matrix codes linked to an immutable blockchain database. Authorized participants trace the movement of products within the network, from pharmacies to producers, producing an informative audit trail. Attempts at counterfeiting are exposed and are replaced with efficiency and trust. Envision an open supply chain promoting early identification and mitigation of counterfeiting. The goal of this research is to be the driving force behind this change by utilizing blockchain technology and data matrix to dramatically increase patient and consumer safety and create a more reliable pharmaceutical industry. © 2024 ieee.
