An Underwater Wireless sensor Network (UWSN) comprises submerged sensors, a central base-station, and a sink, facilitating data transmission through acoustic waves. Data transfer is dependent on several protocols, such as the MAC and routing protocols. Given its ability to provide effective communication, routing protocol is the area of attention here. The classification of routing protocols encompasses three distinct categories: localization-based, localization-free, and cooperative routing protocols. The position and depth of each node in the network are required to use a localized routing system. In localization-free routing, only the depth information is necessary. Integrating both of the routing techniques leads to cooperative routing. However, the battery life of a UWSN sensor node is quite restricted, making it difficult to use the battery's power effectively. Furthermore, despite the challenging conditions in UWSN, such as extended propagation delays, high absorption factors, high bit-error ratios, and constrained bandwidth, acoustic signals can also function there. The researchers have created many routing strategies to address these problems. However, they still have some shortcomings. To address these issues, our suggested protocol combines the ideas of a self-adaptation algorithm and a balanced consumption algorithm. © 2024 ieee.

This paper explores contemporary agricultural practices and cutting-edge technologies to improve crop yields. Implementing an intelligent greenhouse model that automates farm tasks, minimizing manual intervention. The closed structure of the greenhouse shields plants from adverse weather conditions such as temperature extremes, humidity fluctuations, and variations in air and soil moisture. The study introduces an innovative automatic irrigation system to address the shortcomings of traditional agricultural irrigation methods, emphasizing efficient water consumption control and energy utilization. The proposed system integrates a distributed wireless sensor network, including soil moisture, humidity, and temperature sensors, utilizing the Blynk cloud-based IoT platform and ThinkSpeak, Soil moisture and temperature sensors feed data to NodeMCU V3 ESP8266 WiFi transceiver module controller, A key feature is integrating Android applications and web servers, enabling remote control and monitoring. This technological innovation ensures control over water and energy resources and changes climates, thereby creating sustainable and technologically driven agrarian practices. © 2024 ieee.

Breast cancer is the most common disease among women and has become one of the leading causes of death in women worldwide. Early breast cancer detection is very crucial to attain an optimum medical treatment. This paper presents a hexagonal slotted Ultra-Wideband (UWB) textile antenna for breast cancer detection systems. The proposed antenna has a dimension of 44× 38mm2^2, with a substrate made of felt material characterized by a relative permittivity, r of 1.44, a loss tangent, tanδ of 0.044, and a thickness, h of 1.5 mm. The radiating element and ground plane of the antenna are using ShieldIt Super and the thickness is set to be 0.17 mm. The proposed antenna sensor consists of a hexagonal slotted monopole antenna and a partial ground plane. The partial ground plane technique is used to enhance the performance as well as to tune in the desired frequency range. The antenna operates from 2 to 10 GHz with a maximum gain of 3.62 dBi. In addition, the proposed textile antenna has a compact structure, wide bandwidth, lightweight, and flexible, thus meeting the requirements of breast cancer detection systems. © 2024 ieee.

Nowadays, networks are increasingly reliant on software frameworks and virtualization. To obtain relevant pre-dictions of the behavior of their protocols, network emulation tools play a crucial role. However, as networks grow in size and complexity, the emulation task demands more physical resources such as CPU and memory. Consequently, a single physical machine is no longer sufficient to handle large-scale network emulation. Instead, distributed network emulation tools must be employed for resource-intensive network emulation tasks. In resource-intensive distributed network emulation, the physical resource allocation is NP-hard to perform appropriately. In this paper, we propose SCBG (spectral clustering based greedy node placement algorithm) as a means to enhance the bandwidth utilization between physical nodes in distributed emulation. SCBG aims to address the communication bottleneck in distributed network simulation, surpassing the algorithm proposed by Distrinet, while also improving the algorithm's execution speed. Additionally, SCBG incorporates optimization for time dilation when physical bandwidth resources are severely insufficient. This optimization leads to a reduction in the additional time required for network simulation after applying time dilation. Experimental results demonstrate that SCBG surpasses the algorithm in Distrinet across a diverse range of intricate large-scale networks. © 2023 ieee.

Researchers conduct post-processing on the simulation results by running an interactive data analysis tool on a High-Performance computing (HPC) system installed at an HPC center and retrieving the post-processed results. Certain data analysis scenarios require to transfer the simulation results directly from the center. in such scenarios, a portion of the data would usually be streamed over the network to achieve interactivity. However, there still exist two challenges in maintaining interactivity: (1) limited network bandwidth and (2) long network latency. To tackle these challenges, we propose a system to enable interactive array analysis over the network. We employ error-bounded lossy compression to increase the effective network bandwidth. Furthermore, we employ multi-level caching to hide the network latency and combine prefetching to improve the cache hit ratio. The cache replacement and prefetching policies are designed considering the data access pattern of interactive analysis. We compared our proposed system with TileDB, one of the state-of-the-art array databases, by measuring the average latency for various access patterns. Compared to TileDB, the proposed system reduces the average latency by up to 91.6% by allowing 10% of error because the cache hit ratio was improved by more than 40% due to the proper cache replacement and prefetching policy and network transfer time was reduced more than 75% by using lossy compression.

Multidimensional parallel training has been widely applied to train large-scale deep learning models like GPT-3. The efficiency of parameter communication among training devices/processes is often the performance bottleneck of large model training. Analysis of parameter communication mode and traffic has important reference significance for the research of interconnection network design and computing task scheduling to improve the training performance. In this paper, we analyze the parametric communication modes in typical 3D parallel training (data parallelism, pipeline parallelism, and tensor parallelism), and model the traffic in different communication modes. Finally, taking GPT-3 as an example, we present the communication in its 3D parallel training. © 2023 ieee.

This paper addresses the efficient implementation of signal processing algorithms tailored for multichannel sensor array systems, with a particular focus on an underwater acoustic surveillance and detection application employing both linear and circular sensor arrays. Real-time processing of data from these arrays necessitates an optimized implementation of signal processing onto digital hardware. The paper delineates the processing requirements of signal processing algorithms suitable for sensor array systems, providing mathematical formulations to compute their processing load. By evaluating linear and circular sensor array configurations, it quantifies the processing load of key algorithms such as beamforming and spectral analysis, aiming to guide the selection of an appropriate processing architecture leveraging Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) processors. The study proposes an implementation approach emphasizing the average time cost of signal processing algorithms using contemporary COTS processors. Results demonstrate that the latest Intel-based multicore processors exhibit comparable efficiency to equivalent Digital Signal Processing (DSP) processors in effectively implementing signal processing algorithms, thereby facilitating real-time system operation. © 2024 ieee.

The worlds of computing, communication, and storage have for a long time been treated separately, and even the recent trends of cloud computing, distributed computing, and mobile edge computing have not fundamentally changed the role of networks, still designed to move data between end users and pre-determined computation nodes, without true optimization of the end-to-end compute-communication process. However, the emergence of Metaverse applications, where users consume multimedia experiences that result from the real-time combination of distributed live sources and stored digital assets, has changed the requirements for, and possibilities of, systems that provide distributed caching, computation, and communication. We argue that the real-time interactive nature and high demands on data storage, streaming rates, and processing power of Metaverse applications will accelerate the merging of the cloud into the network, leading to highly-distributed tightly-integrated compute- and data-intensive networks becoming universal compute platforms for next-generation digital experiences. In this paper, we first describe the requirements of Metaverse applications and associated supporting infrastructure, including relevant use cases. We then outline a comprehensive cloud network flow mathematical framework, designed for the end-to-end optimization and control of such systems, and show numerical results illustrating its promising role for the efficient operation of Metaverse-ready networks.

This paper investigates the problem of co-optimisation of Multi-energy Microgrids (ME-MGs) under the same distribution network. To this end, a distributed optimization strategy for ME-MGs based on Nash bargaining is proposed. Firstly, a multi-energy microgrid cluster model is established, and a demand response mechanism and a mobile edge computing system are introduced. Then, based on Nash bargaining theory, a distributed optimisation model of the multi-energy microgrid cluster is established. With the objective of maximising the benefits of the alliance between each multi-energy microgrid (ME-MG), the power trading volume between Microgrid operator (MGO) and Distribution network operator (DNO) and it between MGO are solved to obtain the power trading volume. With the objective of maximising the benefits of each ME-MG, the trading electrovalence between MGO is obtained. And the optimisation model is equated into two sub-problems of maximising social benefits and maximising payment benefits. to ensure that the cooperative benefits of the ME-MGs alliance can be fairly distributed among the alliance members. Finally, the alternating direction multiplier method (ADMM) is used to solve the constructed model. The results show that the proposed strategy can effectively improve the operational efficiency of each player. © 2023 ieee.
