Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) has emerged as an increasingly dominant technology for future connected vehicle and vehicular networks, where the focus of the development of VANET lies in the standardization of message transmission and dissemination via multi-hop broadcasting. However, the current communication protocols concerning VANET face many challenges, including data flooding and collision, transmission delay and other problems. Most of the challenges are closely related to next-hop selection. Therefore, this paper proposes a new routing protocol named REliable and Fast Forwarding (REFF) to optimize the selection of nodes in VANET. In this protocol, node filtering and node evaluation are two main steps. Distance between previous node and candidate node, relative velocity between previous node and candidate nodes, included angle between direction of target node’s velocity and candidate node’s velocity and transmission power of candidate node are adopted as indexes to help select a specific node as the next hop using Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). By using this technique, the number of candidates as next-hop is largely reduced, avoiding the data flooding and resulting transmission relay. In addition, simulations based on experiments are done to verify the feasibility. The results show that message achieves a faster and more reliable transmission using REFF. © 2018, ICst Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering.

This paper presents 2nd order adaptive controller for a linear delta robot based on the backstepping design. For different inputs, including step and continuity signals, such as sine waves, 1st order and 2nd order controller design the compensation and achieve the tracking error can converge to zero. We used the parameters of linear delta robot and input the step function, sine wave to compare the performance which linear delta robot system is in the external disturbance. The design of the controller is mainly for the reference input order to reduce the system steady-state error, effectively improve the tracking performance of the input signal and achieve zero steady-state error.

This paper presents four complementary non-destructive measurement techniques for material characterization and damage detection of turbine blades. The techniques are macroscopic fringe projection with inverse fringe projection algorithms, robot guided microscale fringe projection, high frequency eddy current and pulsed high frequency induction thermography, both in the megahertz range. The specimen on which the measurements were carried out is a blade of the 1st stage high pressure turbine of a modern airplane jet engine. The turbine blade was characterized with regard to the macroscopic and microscopic geometry, cracks in the base material as well as the condition of the protective layer system. (C) 2016 The Authors. Preface First international conference on advanced algorithms and control engineering (icaace 2018) will be held on August 10-12, 2018 in National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. We have invited scholars and researchers from all over the world to present the conference. Co-sponsored by Chongqing University, China and National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, icaace 2018 will prepare an international stage for experts to share their research findings in the area of materials and manufacturing. The conference is featured with invited speeches and paper presentations. About 90 speakers have been invited to icaace 2018 to present their research achievements. We believe these lectures and presentations will be well appreciated by the attendees. During the conference, about 300 participants from the industry and academia will exchange cutting edge knowledge with each other and discuss 5 topics including: 1. algorithms 2. Data Mining, Analysis and Application 3. Systems, Automation and Process control 4. Mathematical and Computer Modelling 5. Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence We received more than 390 articles. For good scientific practice in publishing, all these submissions gone through a strict peer review process. Each paper was cross-checked by at least 2 reviewers. 265 accepted papers after proper registration and presentation will be published into conference proceedings. Numerical analysis is the study of algorithms that use numerical approximation for the problems of mathematical analysis and control system. These Numerical algorithms are dedicated to applying its unique expertise in numerical software engineering to delivering high quality computational software and high performance computing services. In this paper different numerical techniques for ordinary differential equations are simulated for different system models. The system will be modeled using differential equations. The differential equations will be solved using available numerical methods. The comparative analysis will be carried out for different numerical methods using advanced software tools. The hardware implementation of the numerical methods will be done using real time embedded system/hardware.

AC drives based on full digital control have reached the status of a maturing technology in a broad range of applications, ranging from low-cost to high performance systems. In the field of the drive of the electric machines, the elimination of the mechanical speed sensor can present an economic interest and improve safety of operation. With speed estimation, sensorless vector control is possible, meaning that the speed of induction machines without mechanical speed sensors can be controlled. The flux observer is expanded into a combined flux and speed observer, measuring only stator current and voltage [1]. In this work, we develop algorithms of three phase inverter control of IM without speed sensor using DSPic microcontroller. We present two types of speed estimators based on the mathematical model of the machine. The first estimator is called MRAS (Model Reference Adaptive System). The second estimator, based on the estimation of the Back Electromotive Force (BEMF) of induction motor, is called Phase Locked Loop (PLL). A method of estimating the speed of an Induction Motor is proposed, analyzed and experimentally verified. DSPic based SVM controlled three phase inverter fed Induction Motor drive has been designed and implemented [2]. © 2015 IEEE.

According to the repeatability characteristics of servo system, a fuzzy iterative learning controller is proposed which combining advantages of fuzzy control and iterative learning control. Fuzzy control has better robustness, and does not require accurate model of the system, only need the previous experience, the design method is simple. Fuzzy controller is used in the position-loop, but the static error is difficult to eliminate, iterative learning controller use the control error to adjust the previous control input to reduce the error of next time. The combination of these two intelligent control algorithms can improve the control performance of servo system effectively. Simulation results show that the fuzzy control combined with iterative learning control can achieve better control performance in servo system.

A complex optimal regulation control system with three-layer structure is developed for cascade hydropower stations, including from top to bottom optimal regulation control layer, automatic water regime measuring and generation supervisor layer, economical dispatching control and automatic generation control layer. After three optimal rules of maximum generation, maximum energy reservation, and minimum level violation are analyzed, three corresponding mathematical models are established. Based on the analysis and application of different optimization algorithms, the advanced dynamic programming is suggested to be used in optimal regulation control of cascade hydropower stations. Applications in the Wu River have demonstrated that optimal regulation control can greatly improve economic benefit and management level. Other cascade hydropower stations that are carrying out or will carry out optimal regulation control can use the experience for reference.
