In this paper, the selective harmonic elimination (SHE) strategy for cascaded digital power amplifier is derived and proposed. To solve the problem of slow iteration speed or even non-convergence of the traditional iterative method when the number of levels or the number of harmonic elimination equations is large, a new solution method based on "interior point method"is introduced. In practical application the dead-time cannot be avoided, so the impact of dead-time on selective harmonic elimination strategy is also analyzed. Based on the relationship between output voltage and current during dead-time, the control method of "flexible insertion of dead-time on line"is proposed, which can significantly weaken the dead-time effect on selective harmonic elimination strategy in practice. © 2020 IEEE.

This study proposes an advanced reactive power control technique (ARPCT) to improve the power quality of grid integrated wind power systems. Looking at the excellent field experience and knowledge of the power operators, recently, FACTS devices are integrated with the existing grid codes to solve undesirable power quality problems. Therefore, to improve the grid stability, high energy quality, protect the system operation and avail better power quality, statcom based FACTS devices are selected for 9MW wind integrated system application. The proposed model and control technique is developed and simulated through MATLAB/Simulink software. To justify the proposed technique necessity, the statcom based grid integrated wind energy system performance is compared without statcom based system application. Moreover, the transient stability of the wind turbine is also tested during the three-phase fault condition (LLG). The proficiency of the modelled regulator and functionality is detailed through theoretical analysis. The compared results indicate the improved results and justify the necessity of the proposed controller. © 2021 IEEE.

With the in-depth study on the physical mechanism of mode locking, penetrating and tearing mode suppression, the original RMP power supply system has been unable to meet the experimental requirements. In order to make RMP coils have more connection methods to generate more diverse magnetic field configuration and larger current, this paper redesigns a new control system for bipolar pulse AC power supply, which make it upgrade to a power supply that can operate in DC operation mode, moreover, the output current can be reversed in one shot. Besides, the control strategy, protection, real-time detection and waveform display can meet the requirements of normal operation. Finally, performance of this new control system is tested on bipolar pulse power supply. © 2020 IEEE.

A lifting equipment plays an important role in assembly industries. In Truck manufacturing plant, assem-bling components of truck chassis involves many numbers of process and then loading of components in the finishing process creates problems for workers. This study is to identify the potential risk in assem-bling process at the industry by using hazard identification Risk Assessment (HIRA). The appropriate risk controls are providing engineering controls, administrative controls and personal protective equipment. This HIRA study may help to employer be more proactive in ensuring the safety and health of workers. In view of the quick development of modern computer technology, more pictures of natural scenes have been collected and analyzed for application in military fields, scientific research, and computer vision fields related to object detection. However, the sharpness of these pictures collected will be affected by rain and snow, which will reduce the visibility of things in the pictures. This will not only affect the viewing, but also affect scientific research fields such as autonomous driving and video surveillance. Therefore, the research on image rain removing is very practical. An improved algorithm model named pixel-GAN is proposed in this article, which based on conditional Generative Adversarial Networks (cGAN). This new method regards the problem of removing rain from specific images as the style conversion problem. What we improved is that a VGG-16 module is added to the original network to extract perceptual loss as a new part of the loss function. We show the excellent rain-removing ability of the improved algorithm and also illustrate the reason why we add the perceptual loss. Compared with other existing methods, there is no need to set a prior model, the training speed is faster and the proposed model finally generates higher quality pictures. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The performance of speech emotion recognition (SER) systems can be significantly compromised by the sentence structure of words being spoken. Since the relation between affective content and the lexical content of speech is difficult to determine in a small training sample, the temporal sequence based pattern recognition methods fail to generalize over different sentences in the wild. In this paper, a method to recognize emotion for each syllable separately instead of using a pattern recognition for a whole utterance is proposed. The work emphasizes the preprocessing of the received audio samples where the skeleton structure of Mel-spectrum is extracted using formant attention method, then utterances are sliced into syllables based on the contextual changes in the formants. The proposed syllable onset detection and feature extraction method is validated on two databases for the accuracy of emotional class prediction. The suggested SER method achieves up to 67% and 55% unweighted accuracy on IEMOCAP and MSP-Improv datasets, respectively. The effectiveness of the method is proved by the experimentation results and compared to the state-of-the-art SER methods. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In recent years, the incidence of skin lesions has been one of the most rapidly increasing of all commonly occurring cancers. This deadliest form of melanoma must be detected early to be effectively treated. Because of the trouble and objectivity of human clarification, a significant research field has developed around the computerized examination of dermoscopy images. One reason to apply swarm intelligence systems is that an optimal solution can be advanced with a sensible computational application. This work introduces an artificial bee colony technique (ABC), distinctions, and applications. The planned ABC is a more suitable algorithm and one that requires smaller amounts of factors that need to be adjusted in comparison to other modern artificial swarm intelligence techniques (MASITs) for distinguishing unhealthy in skin tumor lesions. In these swarm's intelligence optimization algorithms have been positively executed for melanoma problems and provided extraordinary results guidance to better prediction and investigation of the skin cancer lesions. The experimental outcomes propose that the planned process proficient a developed accuracy associated to the ground truth (GT) used skin lesions’ dermatology. So, we will be able to use these in a future study with different databases. © 2020 EAI.

An IP (Internet Protocol) network is a communication network used to send, receive messages between one or more computers. In order to effectively manage the resources in network, Measurement based traffic admission control (MBTAC) is proposed. The MBTAC basic idea is to continuously measure downlink and uplink traffic bitrates and calculate the statistical indicators to control the admittance of new user connections and avoid overload conditions. The algorithm proposed provides priority based Quality of Service (QoS) and shows improvements over available algorithms. It balances the utilization of network resources and service *** this paper, we evaluate measurement based admission control algorithm (MBAC) [1] and measurement based call admission control (CAC) [2] with the newly proposed traffic based admission control algorithm using measurements (MBTAC). The MBTAC algorithm assures that the new flow admitted will have no impact on the Quality of Service requirements of current traffic. The new connections requested are admitted based on availability of sufficient resources. © 2019 IEEE.

The application of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) in wireless mobile communication is evolving as an instinctive preference due to its ability to support high mobility, high scalability and very low administration or maintenance cost, which are the essential characteristics of advanced wireless mobile communications. The Quality of Service (QoS) or efficiency of the MANETs lies in the performance of the routing protocols used. In this paper, we have presented a survey on the performance of different routing protocols under Transmission control Protocol (TCP) congestion control algorithms. Our objective is to study the performance of the routing protocols in absence or presence of the TCP congestion control algorithms from existing literature.

The potential of the Internet of Things (IoT) and other technologies in the realm of Industry 4.0 to generate valuable data for monitoring the performance of the production processes and the whole supply chain is well established. However, these large volumes of data can be used within planning and control systems (PCSs) to enhance real-time planning and decision-making. This paper conducts a literature review to envisage an overall system architecture that combines IoT and PCS for planning, monitoring and control of operations at the level of an industrial production process or at the level of its supply chain. Despite the extensive literature on IoT implementations, few studies explain the interactions between IoT and the components of PCS. It is expected that, with the increasing digitization of business processes, approaches with PCS and IoT become ubiquitous in the near future. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
