Cloud computing is a revolution in IT technology that provides scalable, virtualized on-demand resources to the end users with greater flexibility, less maintenance and reduced infrastructure cost. These resources are supervised by different management organizations and provided over internet using known networking protocols, standards and formats. The underlying technologies and legacy protocols contain bugs and vulnerabilities that can open doors for intrusion by the attackers. Attacks as DDoS (distributed Denial of Service) are ones of the most frequent that inflict serious damage and affect the cloud performance. In a DDoS attack, the attacker usually uses innocent compromised computers (called zombies) by taking advantages of known or unknown bugs and vulnerabilities to send a large number of packets from these already-captured zombies to a server. This may occupy a major portion of network bandwidth of the victim cloud infrastructures or consume much of the servers time. Thus, in this work, we designed a DDoS detection system based on the C.4.5 algorithm to mitigate the DDoS threat. This algorithm, coupled with signature detection techniques, generates a decision tree to perform automatic, effective detection of signatures attacks for DDoS flooding attacks. To validate our system, we selected other machine learning techniques and compared the obtained results. © 2017 IEEE.

Cloud computing delivers digital services over the internet by using various applications which were carried out at distributed datacenters by computer systems. It provides protocol based high performance computing which permits shared storage and computation over long distances. This proposed work bridges the efficient computation and secure storage in cloud environment. Secure cloud storing includes receiving the data by cloud server for storage after applying security steps like authentication, encryption of data and allocation of storage space. In cloud computing, a secured computing infrastructure is provided to cloud user through computing request and commitment generation. Dynamic server stipulation by cuckoo algorithm is utilized after the completion of successful user access. The uncheatable computation, secure access and storage of proposed work achieve confidentiality. It improves the efficiency and manages concurrent users' requests.

Mobile agent technology offers a new computing paradigm in which a program, in the form of a software agent, can suspend its execution on a host computer, transfer itself to another agent-enabled host on the network, and resume execution on the new host. Recent mobile agents are able to categorize in a various ways of distributed equipped embedded intelligence agents systems. This information provides an indication of the variety of threats affecting the mobile agent systems. The developers of mobile agent facing security problems based on their applications. In M-Commerce of business information agent system is built based on mobile agent technology. It sends out agents to different hosts in an electronic marketplace. The agents collect and report information such as prices and availabilities about products specified by users. Security is a main issue of mobile agent systems, particularly when soft cash dealings are concerned.

Cloud computing is becoming an essential component for internet services. However, its energy consumption has become a key environmental and economic concern. The distributed nature of Cloud infrastructures involves that their components are spread across wide areas, interconnected through different networks, and powered by diverse energy sources and providers, making overall energy monitoring and optimizations challenging. In this paper, we present the opportunity brought by the Smart Grids to exploit renewable energy availability and to optimize energy management in distributed Clouds. The presence of smart sensors which are both integrated into the electricity Grid and connected to the internet, indeed offers for the first time the possibility of exploiting the availability of various energy sources, and of making complete energy measurements of all the Cloud resources - computing, storage and especially networking resources - problems which have previously been intractable.

The next-generation network, cloud computing, and internet of thing are a challenging and promising paradigm shift in IT world technology. Diminishing the cost for users for provisioning anywhere connecting at anytime from anywhere network, CloudIMS consists of interconnecting heterogeneous access technology and to respond to a major challenge for serving the increase in demand and scalable network access to share pool of configurable resource of enabling a convenient cloud computing. This paper mainly focused on common approach to integrate the IP multimedia subsystem (IMS), the internet of thing, and cloud computing under the name of CloudIMS architecture which makes multimedia service easy to deploy on a cloud platform. We present the state of art of the different elements of CloudIMS. Moreover, we examine the layers designed for CloudIMS based on next-generation network access for mobile communication devices between different types of technologies (3GPP and non-3GPP), such as global system for mobile communication (GSM), wireless network, worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) and long-term evolution (LTE). Finally, we present an architecture of CloudIMS according to our point of view, followed by a discussion of a use case for the future networks. © Springer India 2015.

Cloud computing is popularly used environment where many hardware and software resources are delivered as a service especially over the internet. Since a majority of cloud applications require voluminous data processes ability at petabyte scale, a database management systems (DBMSs) catering to these applications forms a critical component in the cloud software stack. Cloud database has emerged as the amalgamation of distributed storage and virtualization technology. With growing market of distributed Web applications and rising trend of cloud computing, a need for a database suitable for cloud computing environment has drawn focus. This paper is intended to frame a set of criterions for database to be suitable for cloud computing environment which could provide us with much needed features such as high availability, flexible schema, lower cost of investment, scalability, elasticity, etc. We have also tried to evaluate the compliance of our proposed set of criterions with respect to some of the commercially used cloud databases. With the emergence of the Future internet and the dawning of new IT models such as cloud computing, the usage of data centers (DC), and consequently their power consumption, increase dramatically. Besides the ecological impact, the energy consumption is a predominant criteria for DC providers since it determines the daily cost of their infrastructure. As a consequence, power management becomes one of the main challenges for DC infrastructures and more generally for large-scale distributed systems. In this paper, we present the EPOC project which focuses on optimizing the energy consumption of mono-site DCs connected to the regular electrical grid and to renewable energy sources.

Wireless community networks (CNs) are large-scale, self-organized and decentralized communication infrastructures built and operated by citizens for citizens. CN cloud infrastructures have been recently introduced to run services inside the network, without the need to consume them from the internet. We have developed a Linux-based distribution code-named Cloudy, which fosters the service deployment and automation in CN clouds. In this paper, we present two ways provisioned by Cloudy to integrate the services and improve the user QoS in these clouds. First, we present a distributed service discovery mechanism that helps users with service quality metrics to choose the best service from a pool of instances. Second, we experiment with a live video streaming service deployed in CN environments, using more than 50 real CN nodes distributed across Europe for the evaluation. Our analysis shows that, tuning the vital parameters of this service as neighborhood peer selection strategy and source node dispersion strategy, improves the video streaming QoS in the CNs. Our results indicate that both ways help the user to experience improved service performance. Automated service selection, needed once the number of micro service providers becomes larger, is the next step that can be built upon our results.

Fibonaccian number system (FNS) that uses {0, 1} as the digit set with Fibonacci numbers as the positional weights, has many interesting properties which can be exploited for various applications. We propose here a new number system, termed as the Tri-digit Fibonaccian Number System (TFNS), with alternate Fibonacci numbers as the positional weights for the various digits in the representation. We show that TFNS provides asymmetric distribution of the three digits (0, 1 and 2) in representing numbers with a pair of consecutive 2's never appearing in a valid codeword. These properties can conveniently be utilized for typical engineering applications, e. g., message encoding for low-energy communication systems and variable length encoding with self-delimiting code.
