Grid computing is an emerging computing infrastructure which is a collection of computing resources connected by a network, to form a distributed system used for solving complex problems. This system tries to solve these problems or applications by allocating the idle computing resources over a network or the internet commonly known as the computational grid. In Computational Grid main emphasis is Oven on performance in terms of Execution time. Resources in Computational Grid are heterogeneous and are owned and managed by other organizations with different access policies. This can be achieved by Scheduling. Scheduling algorithms increases performance by reducing the execution time so Scheduling is an important issue. Scheduling is the decision process by which application components are assigned to available resources to optimize various performance metrics. Hence in this paper we have specifically focused on improving Computational grid performance in terms of Execution time. We have first presented a concept of Scheduling in Computational grid. Followed by detailed analysis of two scheduling strategies simulated by GridSim. Next we have proposed a dynamic Scheduling strategy based on this analysis. We are sure that this will improve the performance by reducing execution time.

The increasing popularity of web-based applications has led to several critical services being provided over the internet. This has made it imperative to monitor the network traffic so as to prevent malicious attackers from depleting the resources of the network and denying services to legitimate users. This paper has presented a mechanism for protecting a web-server against a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack. Incoming traffic to the server is continuously monitored and any abnormal rise in the inbound traffic is immediately detected. The detection algorithm is based on a statistical analysis of the inbound traffic on the server and a robust hypothesis testing framework. While the detection process is on, the sessions from the legitimate sources are not disrupted and the load on the server is restored to the normal level by blocking the traffic from the attacking sources. To cater to different scenarios, the detection algorithm has various modules with varying level of computational and memory overheads for their execution. While the approximate modules are fast in detection and involve less overhead, they have lower detection accuracy. The accurate modules involve complex detection logic and hence involve more overhead for their execution, but they have very high detection accuracy. Simulations carried out on the proposed mechanism have produced results that demonstrate effectiveness of the scheme.

Many global distributed cloud computing applications and services running over the internet, between globally dispersed clients and servers, will require certain levels of Quality of Service (QoS) in order to deliver and give a sufficiently smooth user experience. This would be essential for real-time streaming multimedia applications like online gaming and watching movies on a pay as you use basis hosted in a cloud computing environment. However, guaranteeing or even predicting QoS in global and diverse networks supporting complex hosting of application services is a very challenging issue that needs a stepwise refinement approach to be solved as the technology of cloud computing matures. In this paper, we investigate if latency in terms of simple Ping measurements can be used as an indicator for other QoS parameters such as jitter and throughput. The experiments were carried out on a global scale, between servers placed in universities in Denmark, Poland, Brazil and Malaysia. The results show some correlation between latency and throughput, and between latency and jitter, even though the results are not completely consistent. As a side result, we were able to monitor the changes in QoS parameters during a number of 24-hour periods. This is also a first step towards defining QoS parameters to be included in Service Level Agreements for cloud computing in the foreseeable future. © 2011 IEEE.

Cloud computing is the next stage in evolution of the internet, which provides large amount of computing and storage to customers provisioned as a service over the internet. However, cloud computing facing so many security challenges due to the possible compromise or byzantine failures. In this paper, we focus on Ensuring data storage security in cloud computing, which is an important aspect of Quality of Service (QoS). We propose an effective and flexible distribution verification protocol to address data storage security in cloud computing. In this protocol, we rely on erasure code for the availability, reliability of data and utilize token pre-computation using Sobol Sequence to verify the integrity of erasure coded data rather than Pseudorandom Data in existing system. Unlike prior works, our scheme provides more security to user data stored in cloud computing. The performance analysis shows that our scheme is more secure than existing system against Byzantine failure, unauthorized data modification attacks, and even cloud server colluding attacks. © 2010 IEEE.

The internet has become a worldwide commercial enterprise serving millions. Usage accounting is needed to support network management and cost recovery for the present day internet. The new user base demands consistently high quality service and reliability, and their applications impose strenuous service requirements. These internet applications rely on IP addresses for accounting and service provisioning. With the onset of dynamic IP addresses it has become increasingly difficult for service providers to do service provisioning for their legitimate users. In this paper, we present a fixed accounting strategy which over comes the problem presented by dynamically changing IP addresses. This strategy relies on programmatic remote retrieval of physical address from the remote machine. © 2010 IEEE.

Cloud computing is a way of computing, via the internet, that broadly shares computer resources instead of using software or storage on a local PC. Cloud computing is an outgrowth of the ease-of-access to remote computing sites provided by the internet. Instead of installing a suite of software for each computer, we'd only have to load one application. That application would allow workers to log into a Web-based service which hosts all the programs the user would need for his or her job. Remote machines owned by another company would run everything from e-mail to word processing to complex data analysis programs. It's called cloud computing, and it could change the entire computer industry. In a cloud computing system, there's a significant workload shift. Local computers no longer have to do all the heavy lifting when it comes to running applications. The network of computers that make up the cloud handles them instead. Hardware and software demands on the user's side decrease. The only thing the user's computer needs to be able to run is the cloud computing systems interface software, which can be as simple as a Web browser, and the cloud's network takes care of the rest. © 2010 IEEE.

It is generally believed that Zipf's law is well applied for Web objects. However, as OSNs prevail and internet begins to concentrate more and more on individuals, many researchers report that request frequency of Web objects deviates from Zipf's law notably, especially for UGC (User Generated Content) sites. In this paper, we take the first step to explain it from the perspective of relations between content provider and consumer. Our contribution is twofold: (1) We propose a new metric named social locality to quantify relations between content providers and consumers of a site. (2) We find that social locality has strong influence on the access patterns of UGC sites. Sites with high social locality may deviate from Zipf's law more significantly than the ones with lower social locality. © 2010 IEEE.

Multiagent plays an important role in various applications. As the internet becomes prerequisite of human life, large scale Multiagent systems on the internet become more and more important. However, large scale multiagent systems encounter many big issues such as scalability and inter-operability. This paper presents a different approach of large scale multiagent system based on semantic P2P Network-Virtual Hierarchical Tree Grid Organizations (VIRGO) in mathematic terms. Other than unstructured and DHT-based structured P2P networks, VIRGO keeps the semantic meanings of the nodes according to their roles in the communities. In VIRGO approach, the agents are identified as domain names classified by the semantic meaning of roles in the organizations. The agents construct the VIRGO network by joining the virtual groups with the same names as their domains. We proof by mathematics that in this approach each agent has a path to communicate with any other agent and the performance is effective as maximin hops less than log(N), where N is total number of agents. The performance bottle-neck of treelike topology can be avoided by cache policies. Here, we also introduce a SQL-like language for inter-operation among agents. As an illustration example, cooperative e-Business based on VIRGO in which lots of enterprisers are formed into vertical virtual organizations is described. © 2010 IEEE.
