In this paper, a discrete wavelet transform and a radial basis function (RBF) kernel-based support vector machine are combined to form a hybrid technique for a short distance radial distribution line. The main objectives of the proposed method are to classifying the shunt faults and estimating its locations. Unlike a decision tree-based hybrid method, this technique is easy to implement and computationally less burden. Here, three-phase line current samples have been utilized to generate the features. Importantly, feature extraction has been handled by Daubechies mother wavelet. Six features (i.e., mean, standard deviation, energy, entropy, skewness, and kurtosis) of line currents have taken into consideration. The data extracted from the feature generation stage contain redundant feature values. Therefore, the principal component analysis tool has been applied to reduce the redundancy in the dataset by optimizing the features. Finally, the optimized features are sent as inputs to the kernel-based SVM for fault classification and estimating the location. MATLAB/Simulink simulation environment and Python programming interface have been utilized to test the performance of the developed model.

Movement in bio-inspired robots typically relies on the use of a series of actuators and transmissions with one or more degrees of freedom (DOF), allowing asymmetrical ellipsoidal gaits for use in walking, running, swimming, and crawling. In an effort to simplify these multi-component systems, we present a novel, modular, soft, bi-stable, one DOF dome actuator platform that is capable of complex gaits through mechanical programming, driven by simple periodic fluid input. With a modular, reconfigurable design, the end effectors of these bi-stable dome actuators can be quickly modified for use on a variety of surfaces for specific applications. In the present study, we describe the finite element modeling, manufacturing, and characterization of different end effectors and outline a workflow for the implementation of these soft bi-stable dome actuators for the production of functional robotic prototypes.

This research and development aims to produce products in the form of Interactive Media CDs for students of class X majoring in software engineering at Padang state Vocational High School 2 based on the lectora inspire application. The research method used is the method of research and development, using the ADDIE development model. The development steps are: (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implement, (5) Evaluate. Product development validation includes. The results of the assessment by experts in terms of the aspect of content eligibility: 71.00%, language component: 71.25%, presentation component: 71.00%, graphical component: 71.25%. Overall, the validator test evaluation of the Basic programming Interactive CD Media is 71.13%, so that the level of validity can be interpreted Fairly Valid to be used. The results of the practicality test assessment in terms of the user state: 80.11%, the effectiveness of learning time: 79.60%, benefits: 80.90%. Overall, the practicality assessment of the Basic programming Interactive CD Media is 80.20%, so that the practical level can be interpreted as practically used. The results of the effectiveness test were reviewed from the aspect of learning pleasure: 79.08%, the presence of interesting teaching materials in learning: 71.50%. Simultaneous measurements by surface electromyography (sEMG) and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) enable studies of small muscular activities in resting human musculature. Induced signal disturbances can hamper the evaluation of small amplitude myoelectric signals despite the application of gradient artifact correction (CAC) methods. Systematic evaluation of the quality of CAC methods is difficult due to the unknown real sEMC signal during simultaneous measurements. Therefore, a new concept for CAC quality estimation is investigated based on sEMC sample generation and classification. Signal synthesis and classification is based on a Dense-Bidirectional-Long-Short-Term-Memory (DBLstM)-based auxiliary classifier generative adversarial network (AC-CAN). Quality of CAC and ability to detect small myoelectric activities is exemplary investigated on two common DW-MRI sequences.

Cellular imaging with confocal fluorescence laser microscopy gave rise to many new insights into the cellular machinery. One interesting observation suggests that morphology of cell nucleus plays a key role for neutrophilic function, which is an essential part of the innate immune system of most mammals. Due to the increasing availability of high resolution 3D images coming from the microscope, machine learning becomes a promising tool for automatically discovering underlying hidden structures. Here, the major difficulty consists of selecting an appropriate representation for characterizing the morphology of cell nucleus. In this work we tackle this problem and propose a fully unsupervised mechanism for finding structure in high-throughput 3D image data. The key component of our approach is based on Generic Fourier Transform (GFT) for 2D images, which for 3D involves spherical coordinate transformation prior to fast Discrete Fourier Transformation. On top on GFT we apply dimensionality reduction with Principal component Analysis, followed by generative cluster analysis with a Gaussian Mixture Model. We validate our new approach first on a synthetic 3D-MNIst dataset with random rotations, where quantitative and qualitative results confirm the applicability of the proposed pipeline for exploring shape space in a purely unsupervised manner. Then we apply our proposed technique to a new collected dataset of high resolution 3D images of neutrophile nuclei suggesting a clustering model with six significant clusters of morphological cell nuclei prototypes. We visualize differences in the cell shape clusters by providing prototypical examples of neutrophilic cell nuclei.

The Internet of Things (IoT) invades our world with billions of smart, interconnected devices, all programmed to make our lives easier. For educators, teaching such a vast and dynamic field is both a necessity and a challenge. IoT-relevant topics such as programming, hardware, networking and artificial intelligence are already covered in core computing curricula. Does this mean that fresh graduates are well prepared to tackle complex IoT problems? Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. The problem is that IoT devices are complex systems, where software, hardware, and humans interact with each other. From this interaction, unique behavior and hazardous situations can emerge that might easily stay undetected, unless systems are analyzed as a whole. This paper presents two differently flavored courses that teach IoT using a holistic, system-centric approach. The first is a broad introduction to Pervasive Computing, focused on the intelligence of "Things". The second is an advanced course that zooms on the process of testing a software-intensive system. The key characteristics of our approach are : (1) teaching only the bare essentials (topics needed for end-to-end engineering of a smart system), (2) a strong, hands-on project component, using microcontroller-based miniature systems, inspired by real-life, and (3) a rich partnership with industry and academic idea incubators. Positive student evaluations gathered during the last five years demonstrate that such an approach brings engagement, self-confidence and realism in IoT classrooms. We believe that this success can be replicated in other courses, by shifting the focus on different IoT-relevant aspects.

In a software development process, the integration and verification of the different parts of the application under development often require a lot of effort. component Based Software engineering (CBSE) approaches help cut software integration costs by enabling the automatic generation of data types, method signatures and middleware configuration from a model of the application structure. Model Based Testing (MBT) techniques help cut software verification costs by enabling the automatic generation of test oracles from a model of the expected application behaviour. Models for CBSE and MBT are usually separate. This may result in discrepancies between them, especially when the application architecture is updated, which always happens. In this paper, we describe how to rely on a single CBSE model to produce both code generation and oracles for some tests, thus ensuring consistency between them. Our work is based on existing OMG standards, mainly UCM and UML.

In theory, time-cost tradeoff ( TCT) analysis is a classic planning problem appealing to construction management;yet, existing analytical methods are found inadequate to make a significant impact in practice. Heuristic methods lack a theoretical basis to ensure arriving at optimum solutions in solving specific problems;on the other hand, mathematical programming requires cumbersome, complicated formulation. This study proposes a new computing framework for TCT optimization that takes advantage of a path-float based technique and integer programming ( IP). The project duration can be shortened in each crashing cycle based on path-float analysis;while IP is nested to inform on which activities on the critical path(s) to shorten by how long duration. The new TCT optimization approach streamlines critical path analysis in each cycle and finds global optimums in terms of lowest project cost or shortest project duration. Because only part of the network ( critical path) is considered in IP formulation in each intermediate cycle, the complexity of IP formulation plus the search space is substantially reduced. A case study is used to verify the proposed method and demonstrate its application. The proposed method can be automated to tackle large project networks commonly encountered in workface planning.

Biometrics deals with perceiving a man or confirming the authentication of physiological or behavioral attributes. To ensure the genuine nearness of a component in contrast to a fake self-made simulated or reproduced trial is a noteworthy issue in biometric confirmation, which require the advancement of novel and proficient security measures. So that we requires an automatic efficient model which can cut out the irregularities and fake access endeavors before matching and decision making. In this paper, here a novel programming-based fake discovery strategy is utilized as a part of retinal check to distinguish distinctive sorts of. The motivation behind the proposed framework is to enhance the security of biometric acknowledgment systems. In this proposed novel cross-breed, adaptive weighted neighbor (AWN) classifier is the procedure to order the information retinal picture relies upon the highlights extraction and coordinating the highlights with the prepared highlights. Initially, the captured image is pre-processed by middle separating procedure and Gaussian filter. What is more, upgrade algorithm used for achieving the complexity of vasculature particularly in the thin vessels and stumpy vasculature differentiate vessels. The proposed model can be utilized as an underlying procedure in numerous security fundamental applications. This paper likewise proposes the algorithm for discovering the bifurcation point in the veins. It enables high security, good performance, and greater accuracy.
