This article presents a novel fractional-order (FO) cascade controller named FO tilt-derivative with filter cascaded to FO proportional-derivative with filter (CFOTDN-FOPDN) controller for unified automatic load frequency control study considering automatic voltage regulator loop. The considered system includes hydro and dish-stirling solar thermal system in area-1 and area-2 consists of thermal and solar thermal power plant. Pertinent physical constraints are provided to the thermal and hydro units. The communication time delay (CTD) among load dispatch center and location of the power generation unit is considered. The optimization method named artificial flora algorithm is utilized to accomplish superlative solution. Investigations reveal that the proposed controller outperforms the PIDN and TIDN controllers. Analysis reflects that the higher value of CTD degrades the system performance. Moreover, the system performance improves with the higher value of the solar insolation. Lastly, the sensitivity analysis divulges the AFA optimized controller parameters are more robust against wide variations of system loading. © 2022 IEEE.

The Multilevel Inverter (MLI) comes in large range of levels and the study of MLI took an acceleration in recent time. MLI has wide range of use in moderate voltage and large power applications. For utilization, the inverter must satisfy the voltage requirement as desired by the load, so controlling the response of the inverter is a matter of concern. In this paper, intelligent algorithm-based Proportional Integral (PI) controller is implemented for nourishing the output response of the inverter. The Regulation of Inverter output voltage is done by minimizing the 'Integral Time Absolute Error' (ITAE). Here ITAE is considered as the objective to be minimized using stochastic optimization techniques. Optimization techniques like, 'Particle Swarm Optimization' (PSO), 'Genetic Algorithm' (GA) and 'Artificial Bee Colony' (ABC) are implemented and compared. A seven level H-Bridge based Cascaded Multi-level Inverter (HBC MLI) is simulated using 'Level Shifted Pulse Width Modulation' (LS PWM) technique. ABC optimization technique proved to be better than the other techniques in terms of better fitness. © 2022 IEEE.

Integrated smart homes using sustainable energy and storage system require intelligent energy management strategies to enhance performance and save money. This paper focuses on the optimal energy management strategy of a smart home with a photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS). This study is motivated by challenges associated with renewable energy supplies, the load demand of home appliances, and electric vehicles (EVs). Electricity buying costs from the grid and load responsive index are designed as a multi-objective problem to provide optimal scheduling for PV and BESS while charging EVs and satisfying home power demands simultaneously. The multi-objective problem is solved arithmetic optimization algorithm (AOA). This paper investigates the relationship between electricity buying costs from the grid and the load responsiveness index. The proposed method is applied to a smart home integrated with PV and BESS. The performance of the proposed energy management strategy is discussed in the result analysis section. © 2022 IEEE.

We are designing the smart agriculture storage room. Now a days many machines are available to the farmers for cultivating purpose. Recently technology was developed with the help of smart phones. Farmers are using smart phones. Based on that we have implemented that storage room to control with the help of smart phones. In this research work, a part of smart agriculture storage technology is done by using the Bluetooth in mobile device. This paper describes about storage room which is placed in the agriculture itself. In the storage room different type loads are placed by using the different components like Arduino, 4 Channel relay network and Bluetooth. The farmers can control the storage room with enabled phone with Bluetooth. The farmers can easily access and controlled the storage room by staying at particular place and access them with phone without the help of other people. © 2022 IEEE.

Nowadays, oscillation due to low frequency is a very serious issue in power system. It affects steady state power transfer which hampers security and economic operation of the system. FACTs devices play a key role to mitigate the low frequency oscillations. Therefore, in this paper stATCOM and its associated controllers are considered in order to damp out oscillations produced due to low frequency in power system and Firefly Algorithm (FA) is also used to optimize the gain values of stATCOM controllers. An extensive simulation of the study system has been implemented using MATLAB/Simulink platform. System responses have been obtained with PSS and also with compensator comprising of both PSS and stATCOM. Time domain simulation studies are utilized to check effectiveness of the FA based proposed controllers. The simulation results obtained revealed that PSS with stATCOM has excellent capabilities in damping power system oscillations with low frequency. © 2022 IEEE.

Recently, in the path planning of mobile robots, navigation in complex areas are still a challenging task using different AI techniques. One such problem of navigation is solved here using the firefly algorithm and the genetic algorithm as a hybrid approach. The proposed approach efficiently handles the sensory information and converts this into taking the accurate decision for solving the challenges of navigation such as obstacle avoidance and target seeking in a static environment. The proposed approach not only ensures path safety but also ensures path optimality on account of navigational parameters such as path length and navigational time. The developed approach has been tested in the simulation environment using the MATLAB software and in the real-time environment using the Khepera robot. The simulation and real-time results in presence of multiple obstacles are presented for the validation of the proposed FA-GA hybrid controller and obtained results are satisfactory in terms of path optimization. © 2022 IEEE.

Cloud computing allows customers to use a variety of computing resources on-demand and with no maintenance overhead. One of the major issue concerning cloud computing is security. From the end user's perception, migrating to cloud exposes them to additional security risks that are entirely considered to be produced by other occupants who may have some access to shared resources. The co-location or co-residence attack, otherwise called as co-resident assault, is the focus of this research. This is a type of attack in which malevolent individuals construct side channels and steal confidential information from VMs that share the same server. Here we have studied on the co-resident attacks and the mechanisms to detect and prevent the attack. To address this issue, we have focused on the PSSF VM allocation policy as PSSF policy has high security with low energy consumption. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper focuses on developing a smart grid stability prediction model to handle the missing input variables. This paper implements two models. The first model is a feedforward neural network designed to predict stability with complete input data. The second model includes the novel work carried out, wherein two missing input variables are considered, which are predicted using a sub-neural network. This sub-neural network's obtained testing output variables are taken to run the primary neural network. The Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is used to train both the models. The transfer functions used are tansig for the hidden layer and purelin for the output layer. The performance of the proposed models is measured in terms of mean square error and R2 values. The performance of the final leading stability prediction model that handles missing input variables depicted the system's superior performance in both the training and testing phases. © 2022 IEEE.

Energy trading in a smart microgrid based Peer to Peer (P2P) microgrid requires a novel framework. Where in a microgrid each prosumer equipped with Distributed Energy Resources (DER) is encouraged to trade energy. Energy is traded with peers in the microgrid or sold to power grid to generate revenue whenever there is a surplus of energy. As there is an economic benefit, more prosumers are attracted to install DER. The peers in the microgrid are incentivized to buy locally produced energy which is available at a cheaper cost compared to buying from power grid. This results in reducing energy consumption from power grid which in turn results in reducing power losses in transmission lines and results in reduction of CO_2 emissions. Three market paradigms are considered in this paper, i.e. Bill sharing, Supply to Demand Ratio method and Mid-market rate method. Each of the pricing models are elaborated with local energy trading price and prosumers energy costs. In this case, these methods are studied concerning a smart microgrid equipped with DER, Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) system in this case, and the effectiveness of the pricing mechanisms and their respective benefits are established. © 2022 IEEE.
