Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) are widely utilized in a variety of applications due to their high efficiency, dependability, and exceptional dynamic performance. The increase in the number of phases of the PMSMs is a crucial step forward in improving the motor's overload and fault tolerance. Moreover, the PMSMs with outer rotor are extensively used in traction applications such as ship propulsion, mining, lifting, etc., due to their large torque density, which increases the ability to produce more torque. In this study, a unique optimal design technique with the goals of reducing material cost and boosting efficiency is proposed for a six-phase surface-mounted PMSM (SPMSM). Initially, an analytical model is developed to calculate main dimensions of a 145kW six-phase SPMSM. Next, an optimization process is presented to define optimal electromagnetic parameters of the proposed motor. Once optimal parameters are defined, a finite element approach is presented to simulate and analyze the electromagnetic parameters of the optimal motor. The obtained results after optimization are compared to the traditional motors After optimization, not only the material cost decreases 8USD and the efficiency increases 0.224 %, which achieve the objective functions, but also other output parameters such as back EMF THD, torque ripple, etc., of the optimal motor find better outcomes when compared to the initial model.

This paper presents computer modeling, analysis and research of the hyper-chaotic Lorenz system based on programming interface that has been developed in LabView software environment. This study allows for generating and research of the main information properties of hyper-chaotic Lorenz system, focusing on time distribution of the four chaotic coordinates, phase portraits and Lyapunov exponents. Aggregate production planning (APP) is known as a demand-driven production planning activity using aggregate plans for manufacturing processes. It tries to match supply and demand within a medium-term time horizon. In this work, a sustainable-robust APP problem is modeled through a multi-objective mixed-integer linear programming (MOMILP) model. The objective functions are formulated in a way to simultaneously minimize total cost, minimize total environmental impacts and maximize service level. Then, robust optimization (RO) technique is used to treat the demand uncertainty within the problem. To treat the multi-objectiveness and find the optimal solution, an improved multi-choice goal programing (IMCGP) method is introduced as an extension to the classical goal programming approach (GP). Next, several numerical examples are generated in different scales to assess the validity and applicability of the suggested methodology under deterministic as well as uncertain conditions. Eventually, a set of sensitivity analyses are implemented to assess the behavior of objective functions against real-world uncertainty in model parameters. It is demonstrated that the proposed methodology is capable of modeling, solving and analyzing the sustainable-robust APP problem efficiently. As one of the main findings, although the 1st and 2nd objective functions are sensitive to conservatism level, the 3rd objective function remains neutral. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

Visual programming utilizes visual presentation to describe programs, data, structures, or dynamic behavior of complex systems. Labview is a visual programming software made by national instruments using language based on graphics or block diagrams. Labview is applied to thermodynamic experiments to see the effectiveness of the implementation in students learning through the ISLE-based stEM approach. Experiments by the students were finding the specific heating value and discovering the concept of the Black principle by utilizing the Dallas 18B20 as a temperature sensor that is connected through the NodeMCU ESP8266 device and Labview software. This research was conducted at SMA LabSchool Unsyiah with a total of 10 students participated following the pandemic protocol procedure. The data analysis results showed that 85% of students were happy with the learning approach, 80% of students were interested in the teaching materials, 78% of students stated that the experiments were effective for learning the concepts, 90% of students stated that they developed thinking skills. students get an increase in scores on the post-test as much as 89% from the results of the pre-test. The assessment of the implementation of learning by the observer obtained a mean of 80.5%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

To visualize the simulation of a galaxy. Since computation of billions of particles is very rigorous, our main objective is to create an N-body simulation, which will help us visualize over a hundred billion particles moving over time in space, leading to the formation of a galaxy or clusters of stars and galaxies. This simulation uses snapshots to explain the galactic simulation. Here each snapshot possesses a unique identity over different properties like mass, location etc. This paper would use a two-phase visualization method, one which bisects and collects relevant data for the visualization and the second for projection on the arbitrary plane of 3d points. In the first half of the application, programming is used to host the cluster with the help of Single Program Multiple Data (SPMD) whereas the second half focuses on the reduction of thousands of cores with the help of GPU-accelerated computing and parallelization of matrix multiplication. With the help of our application, we seek to speed up the computation of the output and the distribution of these particles around the system’s center of mass. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have attracted considerable interest from researchers in both academia and industry due to their capability to deliver wireless services to ground devices in various contexts, including large-scale events like Hajj and Umrah in Madina. Their inherent adaptability and mobility make them particularly effective in these scenarios. However, UAVs encounter challenges such as limited energy capacity and varying service requirements, complicating optimal deployment strategies. This paper presents a system where a swarm of UAVs operates within a designated area to provide wireless communication services, enhanced by Reflecting Intelligent Surfaces (RIS). We introduce an optimization framework to maximize UAV throughput and improve Quality of Service (QoS) through effective path planning and optimization of phase shift configurations for multiple RIS units. Given the complexity of this optimization problem, traditional linear programming methods are insufficient for real-time decision-making. We propose a two-step solution that integrates a genetic algorithm with double deep reinforcement learning (GA-DDRL) to address this challenge. Extensive simulations compare the GA-DDRL approach against two other solutions: a standard DRL method and a reinforcement learning algorithm. Results indicate that our approach achieves significant improvements, with the GA-DDRL method resulting in approximately a 28.57% increase in data rate and enhanced QoS compared to the traditional DRL algorithm.

Evolutionary-based algorithms emerged due to their flexibility and effectiveness in solving different varieties of problems. Optimization-based techniques are used in finding solutions that involve multiple conflicting objectives. Parallel evolutionary-based algorithms are used to overcome the time-consuming job of finding solutions to these types of problems. In this paper, we present a parallel genetic programming-based model that runs parallelly and obtains solutions in a minimal amount of time. The model also allows the user to select the best set of objectives based on the requirements of the users. An island model is used which runs the operations on different islands parallelly. This not only decreases the execution time of the process but also increases the diversity of the population. The results obtained in different islands are fed to an ensemble classifier to get the required result. The model was trained and tested using the state-of-the-art ISCX-2012 and CICIDS2017 datasets. In our work, we have mainly focused on detecting the attacks in a system in a short duration of time. The model developed gave significant performance improvement compared to the results obtained using the normal CPU implementation.

It is often overseen that AI-enabled systems are also software systems and therefore rely on software quality assurance (SQA). Thus, the goal of this study is to investigate the software quality assurance strategies adopted during the development, integration, and maintenance of AI/ML components and code. We conducted semi-structured interviews with representatives of ten Austrian SMEs that develop AI-enabled systems. A qualitative analysis of the interview data identified 12 issues in the development of AI/ML components. Furthermore, we identified when quality issues arise in AI/ML components and how they are detected. The results of this study should guide future work on software quality assurance processes and techniques for AI/ML components.

Bedside weighing offers a helpful alternative to traditional weighing procedures for patients who are in resuscitation as well as for those who are unable to leave their beds. However, currently, the devices only measure the patient's weight characteristics then the doctors must use a formula to calculate therapy parameters. So, the research focuses on designing and manufacturing a bedside scale having embedded software to calculate treatment parameters for patients immediately after getting the weight of the patient. Design and manufacture of mechanical systems, electrical circuit systems, treatment parameter research and synthesis, formula construction, and integrated software programming are all included. A mobile bedside scale for weighing resuscitation patients has been done with a 150kg maximum weight range, ±0,1kg per step in the full range measurement errors, and software that can be used to calculate treatment parameters for patients like BMI, glomerular filtration rate, vasopressor dose, and infusion volume. The patient is also given advice on dietary requirements as well as antibiotic doses. The bedside scale with embedded software to calculate treatment parameters for resuscitated patients is unique in the world. It will shorten the time of decision-making for doctors during curing ICU patients. In the future, this bedside scale will apply at Ha Dong General Hospital and some other hospitals in Vietnam to assess its capability in ICU units.
