This paper presents a novel approach to implementing a drag-and-drop system designer for heterogeneous demonstrators using block-based coding, which allows users to easily design and build complex systems by dragging and dropping pre-defined blocks that represent specific programming concepts. Partial sorting has several potential uses, one of which is choosing the M greatest or smallest numbers from N inputs. This short discussion seeks to introduce readers to a novel approach for max/min-set-selection sorters implemented in real-time utilising field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). Our approach is quite extensible, yet it is not directly proportional to the vector length. Using sorting networks for bitonic sequences simplifies programming, which is the main rationale behind our technique. Additionally, two variants of our method have been created to address the high data rate sequence and a multiple of two max/min-set-selection problems, respectively. In conclusion, our method's efficacy is demonstrated on a single Xilinx XC7VX690T FPGA through comparison with state-of-the-art technology. © 2024 IEEE.

We identify a novel qudit gate which we refer to as the (d)root Z gate. This is an alternate generalization of the qutrit T gate to any odd prime dimension d, in the d(th) level of the Clifford hierarchy. Using this gate which is efficiently realizable fault-tolerantly should a certain conjecture hold, we deterministically construct in the Clifford+ (d)root Z gate set, d-qubit W states in the qudit {|0 >, |1 >} subspace. For qutrits, we show deterministic and fault-tolerant constructions for the three-qubit W state with T count three, for the six-qubit W state, and for any power-of-three-qubit W state. Furthermore, we adapt these constructions to recursively scale the W state size to arbitrary size N, in O(N) gate count and O(log N) depth. This is moreover deterministic for any size qubit W state, and for any prime d-dimensional qudit W state, size a power of d. For these purposes, we devise constructions of the |0 >-controlled Pauli X gate and the controlled Hadamard gate in any prime qudit dimension. These decompositions, for which exact synthesis is unknown in Clifford+T for d > 3, may be of independent interest.

Extensive datasets are used for training and validation, demonstrating the model's effectiveness in providing more precise predictions. The study highlights the significance of API integration in advancing weather forecasting methodologies and fostering innovation in the field. Online linear programming plays an important role in both revenue management and resource allocation, and recent research has focused on developing efficient first-order online learning algorithms. Despite the empirical success of first-order methods, they typically achieve regret no better than O(√T), which is suboptimal compared to the O(log T) result guaranteed by the state-of-the-art linear programming (LP)-based online algorithms. This paper establishes several important facts about online linear programming, which unveils the challenge for first-order online algorithms to achieve beyond O(√T) regret. To address this challenge, we introduce a new algorithmic framework which decouples learning from decision-making. For the first time, we show that first-order methods can achieve regret O(T1/3) with this new framework. Copyright 2024 by the author(s)

Controllers act as a bridge between the operator and the system, allowing the operator to communicate with the system as if it were a human. In other words, the controller is like the thinking brain of an industrial process. A controller communicates all the commands that an expert wants to apply to the system to follow its standard flow process and ultimately achieve the desired response. When industrial processes are left alone and without a controller in the control loop, they typically do not give satisfactory responses in terms of transient or steady-state characteristics. Therefore, the selection and programming of an appropriate controller is one of the most important steps in an industrial process. One of the most widely used and well-known controllers is the PID controller, whose gains are often determined experimentally or through trial and error. However, finding the optimal gains is always a challenge. In this study, for the first time, the optimal gains of the PID controller are determined using Lion Optimization Algorithm (LOA). This research has introduced a systematic and efficient approach to achieving optimal control of mechatronic systems. © 2025 IEEE.

It becomes exceedingly difficult to keep an eye on every student's whereabouts in huge classes. Although biometric technologies, like fingerprint scanning, provide a means of managing attendance, they also present certain practical challenges. There are often long wait times for students as they wait their turn to undertake the process of scanning, thereby exacerbating inefficiencies. An inventive method that makes use of deep learning's capabilities-more especially, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs)-has been developed to overcome these innate difficulties. The procedure of identifying students in a classroom setting is made easier by this advanced technology. To further this technical progress, a Python programming framework-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) with a focus on user needs has been created. This tasteful fusion of cutting-edge technology with an approachable design philosophy aims to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of attendance tracking. © 2024 IEEE.

This study explores various techniques for transforming 1-dimensional time-series data into 2-dimensional images, preparing for the application of machine learning models designed for 2D data. Eight distinct methods are introduced, including recurrence plots, Markov transition, Gramian angular field, spectrogram, heatmap, direct plot, phase space transformation, and Poincaré plots. These methods are tested using data from a modeled photovoltaic (PV) grid-connected system, specifically simulating a shorted string fault and a no-fault condition. The fault and no-fault responses are captured with a fixed window size of 256 sample points, consistently applied across all methods. All transformation method is tested through python 3 programming using a laptop with minimal computing capability. The generated image of each transformation may contain 1-channel image in grayscale or 3-channel RGB image. Dimension of the generated image can be increase or decrease during saving process. Each method produces a unique visual representation of the shorted string fault and a no-fault, demonstrating diverse perspectives in transforming 1D time-series data into 2D images for subsequent machine learning applications. © 2024 IEEE.
