The role of data acquisition based measurement system in the researches is essential since it delivers many advantages compared to the manual arrangement. Nevertheless, its cost is comparatively high, then it becomes an obstacle, particularly for researchers in producing nations. The purpose of the study was to obtain a low-cost data acquisition system which has good performance when used in the research of dual-fuel engines. The study included a selection of variables, components and sensors, programming, and calibration. The Arduino based data acquisition system was chosen, which was relatively cheap and easy programming. The sensors/transducers consisted of three K-type thermocouples, three load cells, one proximity sensor, and one DHT-11 sensor. programming of data acquisition systems was facilitated by using Arduino IDE software. The display and data recording were done in Microsoft Excel software, with the help of PLX-DAQ software. In this study, a low-cost data acquisition based measurement system had been successfully developed, which had low uncertainty, low hysteresis, and excellent repeatability. It is concluded that the system is very suitable to be used in dual fuel engine researches to measure engine speed, fuel discharge, gas fraction, torque, power, brake specific fuel consumption and brake thermal efficiency. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this article a comparative study on the effectiveness of Real-coded Genetic Algorithm (RGA) approach in finding the compromised near-to-optimal solution and to by-pass the allocation rule of (m+n-1) for a Fuzzified Multi-Objective Transportation Problem (FMOTP) is discussed. For this purpose, some benchmark problems with well-defined membership function were considered and several changes have been made in the execution of Genetic Algorithm with real codes. The performance of the RGA Approach in obtaining the compromised near-to-optimal solution is compared with the traditional methods, namely as Interactive approach and Fuzzy programming approach. The obtained results reveal that, the applied RGA technique is more advantageous and effective after incorporating some changes according to the problem statement. This approach gives more than one compromised near-to-optimal solutions as well as bypasses the allocation rule of (m +n-1), which is a great advantage in solving FMOTP. Two numerical examples have been considered and discussed to demonstrate this advent. © 2019 IEEE.

The construction of Gresik LNG receiving terminal is aimed to fulfil the 109 MMSCFD (0.87 MTPA) gas requirement for combined-cycle power plant (PLTGU) Jawa-3 which is integrated with LNG Gresik Terminal. There are several potential LNG plants in Indonesia and abroad that can be the source of gas for Gresik LNG Terminal. Each of these LNG plants has varying gas price and distance to Gresik. The modelling of the LNG logistics system for Gresik LNG Terminal was built to illustrate the LNG supply chain from the LNG plants to Gresik LNG Terminal and several supply scenarios will be proposed. The built model is linear and optimized by using linear programming. Linear programming involves the determination of objective functions, decision variables and constraints. The optimization of the logistics system aims to obtain the cheapest gas supply cost for Gresik LNG receiving terminal. The result shows that the cheapest gas supply cost is obtained through direct supply scenario with gas source from domestic and abroad with combination of delivery from Bontang equal to 0.34 MTPA (40 %) with 12 shipments, Tangguh equal to 0.26 MTPA (30 %) with 9 shipments, and Bintulu Malaysia equal to 0.26 MTPA (30 %) with 9 shipments. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Demand forecasting plays a critical role in logistics and supply chain management. In the paper, state -of -art methods and key challenges in demand forecasting for the pharmaceutical industry are discussed. An integrated procedure for in -market product demand forecasting and purchase order generation in the pharmaceutical supply chain is described. A case study for supply of pharmaceutical products from a wholesaler to a distribution company located in an emerging market is presented. Alternative forecasting scenarios for thebaseline demand calculations using the SMA model, multiple linear regressions and symbolic regression with genetic programming are experimentally investigated, and their practical implicationsare discussed. This study focuses on optimal motion planning for nonholonomic constraints mobile robot. We formulate the dynamics model of a differential-drive mobile robot by using Lagrangian mechanics, where the nonholonomic constraints are accurately described through differential equations. The optimal motion planning of the system is constructed as an optimal control problem which is then converted to a nonlinear programming problem by introducing trapezoidal collocation method, and the formulated nonlinear programming is solved by interior-point method. Compared with the prevailing methods in the field of motion planning, our proposed method can handle different kinds of path constraints, terminal conditions and collision-avoidance requirements. Simulation results indicate that the proposed approach can efficiently deal with various user-specified requirements with advantage of high computing efficiency. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Cidanau watershed area has an important role in fulfilling water needs, especially for industrial, settlements (population), and agricultural needs. However, along with the increasing development of the Cilegon area, the need for clean water also increased. In 1984, the water demand for the Cilegon region for industrial and settlements was only 0.36 m3/second. But, in 1989 it increased to 1102 m3/second and in 2000 it was 2.200 m3/second. One of the ways to optimize the utilization of limited water resources while the community's need for water is increasing was watershed management using linear programming (LP) method which supports optimal water distribution. Optimization discharge was carried out to determine water requirements. The optimal discharge for domestic needs was 16.50 liters/second to fulfill the water needs of the population of 47,519 people. The optimum discharge for the industrial sector was 27 liters/second with a total industry of 46 (small industries). When it was added with Krakatau Tirta Industri (KTI) discharge, the total industrial discharge became 1,527 liters/second. The optimum agricultural discharge with an area of 4,689.29 ha was 1,219 liters/second. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Once we subscribe to an e-commerce portal, or to a social media website, we interact with multiple brands and with content from numerous providers. However, a unique user profile is created, containing all our preferences. Suppose that a company wants to understand who are its customers. It wants to treat costumers as a target, and understand what campaigns the company should run on them. On the one hand, an approach that clusters the users and performs group recommendations would be useful, while on the other hand, a generic user profile would not be helpful, since the preferences in it are not specific for a brand. Hence, we have to determine multiple user clusterings (one for each brand). This task makes the problem of producing group recommendation challenging, since little and very sparse information about the users is available, and for each pair of users we have to detect as many similarities as the brands existing in the system. To tackle this problem, in this paper, we introduce a novel and optimal measure to compute the similarity between users, based on Kolmogorov complexity. Further, we test it in the group recommendation scenario. The results show that our similarity measure can provide similar accuracy when compared to classical measures, but with significant performance gains, having a strictly lower time complexity than the state-of-the-art similarity measure. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

This paper displays the plan of Industrial Automation utilizing Arduino. This circuit will do the task of tallying the number of persons or workers in an industry bi directionally. This count will be very accurate and it will beep a warning alarm if the number of people exceeds the limit. The aggregate number of people will appear on the LCD. In the circuit an Arduino UNO Board is utilized. This will help in the accurate measurement of the visitors and is less complex compared to a microcontroller. The arduino will get signals from the sensors and those signals work under the control of a programming code which is put away in the ROM of the arduino. The Infrared Receivers will continuously monitor any entity which passes both outside the building and inside the building. According to the number of guest inside the industry, electronic appliances like lights, fans and coolers will be trigerred on and off. This automation will save lots of electricity. There will also be a temperature and humidity sensor which will detect the temperature of an industry. If the temperature exceeds for any reason the circuit will beep, a warning alarm. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The objective of this study is to make an application design to monitor server performance that can be used to monitor and inform server performance to administrators. The implementation of this server performance monitoring application is carried out on the Integrated Administrative Service System server of the Electronics engineering Department, Faculty of engineering, Padang state University. Server performance monitoring application built using the waterfall method. Making the application is also supported by the Script Shell programming language in retrieving information from the server, server information generated by the SNMP and SNORT applications and then reported to the administrator by the Sendemail and Gammu applications. The server performance monitoring application website is built using the Laravel framework, the LTE Admin template and the Canvas JS chart. This server performance monitoring application is able to monitor, recap and report server performance. Application reporting is done using e-mail and sms media, if a problem occurs on the server. So that the application of server performance monitoring applications on the server will be able to help the work of administrators to maintain the availability of a reliable Integrated Administrative Service System in the Electronics engineering Department. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. A working aero engine rotor system is subjected to multi-objective optimisation using Genetic Algorithm based optimisation. A Hybrid Genetic Algorithm (HGA) is introduced to reduce the weight and unbalance response of the rotor system with constrain on critical speed. The existing aero engine gear box casing vibration is found to be within the critical speed constraint and additional constraints are imposed to move the critical away from this zone. Bearing-pedestal model and Rayleigh damping model are used for accurate results. The optimisation resulted in Pareto optimal solutions and best solution selected using utopia point concept. The outcome of the paper is a comparative study which highlights the advantages of HGA over Controlled Elitist Genetic Algorithm (CEGA) and Goal programming (GP). © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd.
