The technique of the Linear FM wasproposed to solve the problem of the inter-symbol interferencein this paper. For comparing with other modulation technique,we analyze the BER, and present the simulation results. Thetheoretical prediction and the simulation results indicate that theLinear FM is very useful to depress the inter-symbolinterference. The high transmitting speed is holding in somearea where the average of the multi-path time dispersion islarger. Merits of the Linear FM are that it is not necessary tohave an equalizer or the spread spectrum modulation.

A new evaluation criterion used for pre-dicting accuracy of binary classifiers for identifyinghigh risk components in the software engineering isproposed in the paper on the basis of analysis of thepresented measure criterions so as to achieve as thehigh prediction accuracy as possible. In this paper, we emphasized on the research ofdynamic nonlinear control of planar two-link flexiblemanipulators. The flexible manipulator is a nonlinear and strongcoupling dynamic system, and the complicated control system ofwhich has a bad control property of real time and *** to the control problems above, the fuzzy composedcontroller with a nonlinear compensatory and a PD controller isproposed by well considered both the dynamic and static controlproperties of the system. At last, the control method is verifiedby computer simulation, based on the dynamic model of a planartwo-link flexible manipulator. The simulation results show thatthe control strategy has a good result on the elastic vibrationreducing of flexible manipulators.

In this paper, a new adaptive watermarkingalgorithm is presented for video image coding. Withoperating compressed video data-stream directly, we embedwatermarking information into motion vectors. According towatermarking information and the feature vectors of motionvectors, the proposed algorithm can adaptively selectembedding scheme with the aim to get good watermarkedimage quality. Watermark is extracted blindly withoutoriginal images and experimental results show that theproposed algorithm has a good compatibility with thepresent compression standards, and it is very simple andefficient.

WDM optical networks represent the direc-tion to the future high capacity wide-area network applica-tions. By creating the optical paths between several nodesin the core networks, logical topology can be created overthe physical topology. In this paper we consider themethod of designing logical topology in wavelengthrouted all optical networks. The exact formulation of thelogical topology problem is usually given as a Mixed In-teger Linear Programming, but it grows intractable withincreasing size of network. A simplified method is proposed for calculatingthe impulse resistance of vertical grounding rods. Theanalytic formula is first derived to determine the low currentresistance and then the calculation procedure is developedto estimate the impulse resistance. In the procedure, anoulinear relationship is introduced to characterize theelectric field and current density in the ionization zonesurrounding the grounding rod. The effective radius of thegrounding rod is evaluated according to the nonlinearrelationship. The impulse resistance is calculated bysubstituting the effective radius into the analytic formula ofthe low current resistance. Finally. a comparison is madebetween calculated and measured results in confirmation ofthe validity of the proposed method.

The third-order common-base transistor circuitreported firstly in [2] is a kind of chaotic signalgenerator, which can be easily realized in anylaboratory. The principal purpose of this paper isstudying the dynamics and great variety ofone-parameter bifurcation phenomena in it. Computersimulation and laboratory experiment are used toanalyze its characteristics. Several strange attractors,the intermittent attractor, periodic windows, cascades ofperiod doubling, period plus two and period minus onephenomena are observed by adjusting the value of aninductor. The computer simulation results agree withthe experiment results quite nicely.

The speech detector takes the significant role in thepractical speech recognition system. In this paper, wepropose a novel finite state machine based speechdetector (FSD) featured with real-time merit. The inputof the FSM comes from a frame-energy detector on theprinciple of logarithm maximum likelihood as well as azero-crossing detector. Experimental results based onboth an isolated word recognition system and acontinuous speech recognition system prove that the FSDis feasible and robust.
