Mobility management is an important aspectin the LEO systems. This paper introduces a modifiedmovement-based location update and paging scheme inLEO networks. In this scheme we propose themeta-cellular concept, which includes two spot-beams ofone satellite. First we present the location managementscheme that use meta-cell model. Then an analyticalmodel is applied to formulate the cost of locationupdating and paging for meta-cell and movement-basedcombined dynamic location update scheme. Thecomparison of performance between meta-cell methodand normal-cell method is provided to demonstrate thecost-effectiveness and robust of file proposed schemeunder various parameters. To reduce the impact ofmeta-cell on paging cost, we present forced locationupdate strategy when the meta-cell includes the cellsfrom different satellites.

In this paper, accurate fitting on performancecurves of fan by RBF networks has been performed and thenflow-monitoring model of fan is derived. The experimentalstudy on the fan of 4-73No8D is taken on the coudition of thechange of rotate speed, resistance of plpe network and angleof regulator, and then the accurate monitoring results of floware obtained. In the process of experimental study ofjam-leak trouble diagnosis for pipe network, the resistancecoefficient of pipe network and the static pressure of inletand outlet of fan are defined as the eigenvector for troublediagnosis, which act as the inputs of the neural *** jam and air leak in different position of pipe networkare simulated in laboratory, some experimental data fortraining and others for test, as a result the troubles of pipenetwork are diagnosed accurately.

Semilightpath algorithm to establish simultanc-ous wavelength routing and wavelength assign-ment (RAW) in WDM cross-counect has beenconsidered to quantify blocking probability, thebenefit of wavelength conversion, conversion gainand fairness in regular and irregular WDM net-work topologies. The distinet superiority of thepresent algorithm over other RAW algorithms hasbeen established from the performance results ob-tained through detailed network simulation.

Distributed generation converts distributedresources such as. wind, solar, and bio-mass intoelectrical energy. A successful criteria to make itprofitable is a secure and reliable utilityinterconnection. The conventional distributionprotection is traditionally designed for one supplysource. In a distribution network with distributedgeneration, two or more sources will feed to one faultcausing mis-coordinated relay operations resulting inlower supply reliability. This paper presents the TimeCoordination Method which can coordinate theovercurrent relays to protect the ring-fed distributionnetwork with distributed generations. The results showthat the optimized relay settings can improve thesupply reliability especially in distributed generationcases.

Although the embedded genetic algorithm andmultistage detector (E-GA/MSD) can improve theperformance of the conventional GA in multiuserdetection,the computational load of MSD is considerablewhen the number of users is *** overcome thisproblem, an improved GA with eugenic population isdeveloped. Based on a new strategy of survivalselection, the eugenic population is more confidenialthan the elitist method in the evolution of betterchromosomes for the next generation. Thus, theproposed technique can achieve almost the sameperformance as the E-GA/MSD, but without incurringadditional computations of MSD. Simulation resultsdemonstrate the improved performance of the proposedGA.

This paper proposes a design of the racetrackmicrocavity resonator based on silicon substrate. Theoptimized dimensions of the structure were found by FDTDsimulation. The characteristics were also found by the method,and further compared with another model of mode couplingtheory. The optimized dimensions of straight guide atwavelength 1.55 μm are thickness and width of 0.4 μm. Thecurve guide provides the maximum at 1μm whereas theresonating section requires small coupling section of about 3μm.

Superfluous model parameters of dynamicmatrix control(DMC) lead to a heavy computationalburden in the computation of process predictive output andonline receding horizon optimization. To overcome theabove demerits of DMC, a fast algorithm of constrainedDMC is presented in this paper on the basis of stepresponse, by employing a model with fewer redundantparameters to approach step response of a plant. Becauseof far fewer parameters of the redundant-parameter modelthan non-parameterized models, the computational burdenof multi-step prediction and online receding horizonoptimization is greatly lightened. The effectiveness of thepresented algorithm is demonstrated by computersimulations by employing step response data collectingfrom a heat exchanger of a hot-water network.

In this paper the novel PID （Proportional +Integral + Derivative） model for adaptive buffer control isproposed for Internet applications. This leads to better service roundtrip timeand user satisfaction. The efficacy of the Integral controlrelies on the power of the predictive component in the PIDcontroller, namely, the MRT algorithm. The performance of an automatic speech recognition (ASR)system will degrade dramatically in noisy environmentsbecause of the mismatch between testing and training. Thispaper presents an efficient robust method, which combines theminimum mean square error (MMSE) speech enhancementwith cepstral mean normalization (CMN). In the front-endstage, the MMSE enhancement is adopted to suppress theintrusive noise to a lower level, but this process is usually atthe expense of spectral variation of clean speech, which alsoseverely affects the recognition. Thus, CMN is then used tocompensate the distortion including the spectral variation andthe residual noise. Experimental evaluations show that theproposed robust method can significantly improve therecognition accuracy across a wide range of signal-to-noiseratios (SNR), especially in very noisy environments.

In this paper the structre and characteristics of timedDPN (Differential Petri Nets) are analyzed. According to theissues that are required to be solved in power system analysis, thecontinuous parts of power system are modeled by using thespecial features of DPN. Thus, the discrete and continuous partsof power system can be described in the same analysis andmodeling tool. From the modeling of an OMIB system, it can beshown that DPN is a kind of effective analysis tool for themodeling of power system.
