--A fuzzy hybrid filter (FHF) is presentedwhich can remove impulse noise from highly corruptedimages while preserving *** noise ratio inthe filter window is defined and detected. Then wepresent new detection algorithm of corrupted degree ofcentral pixel in the filter window,and fuzzy decisionbased on fuzzy rules, construct the fuzry membershipfunction. Finally fuzzy hybrid filter (FHF) is designed forthe removal of impulse noise from highly corruptedimages. Experimental results indicate that our algorithmimpressively outperforms other techniques in terms ofnoise suppression and detail preservation across a widerange of impulse noise corruption,ranging from 5% to80%. Moreover the FHF can effectively restore imagescorrupted with mixed Gaussian and impulse noise.

Learning accurate Bayesian network (BN) classifiers fromcomplete databases is a very active research topic in DataMining and Machine Learning. However, in practice, databasesare rarely complete. This affects their real world data min-ing applications. This paper investigates the methods forlearning four types well-known Bayesian network classifiersfrom incomplete databases. These four types BN classifiersare: Naive-Bayes, Tree augmented Naive-Bayes, BN aug-mented Naive-Bayes, and general BN, where the latter twoare learned using dependency analysis based algorithms thatwork only on the Database Completeness assumption. Inorder to enable this kind algorithms to handle with missingdata, this paper introduces a novel deterministic methodto estimate the (Conditional) Mutual Information from in-complete databases, which can be used to do CI tests, afundamental step in the dependency analysis based algo-rithms. The experimental results show that our algorithmis efficient and reliable.

General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is anenhancement to existing GSM networks that introduceshigh-speed packet data transmission. A inter-broad handoffmay happen when a routing area update request is received bySGSN if GPRS system is implemented by distributedprocessing system like CPX8216 hardware system. Twoperformance metrics of inter-broad handoff expectedinter-broad overload probability and expected handoff numberare presented. A optimal handoff algorithm for inter-broadhandoff is the best tradeoff between interbroad performanceand expected handoff number. According to the definition ofadaptive handoff algorithm in [3],we proposed a adaptiveinter-broad handoff algorithm. Simulation results show thatcomparing with the inter-broad handoff algorithm with fixedthreshold. the adaptive handoff algorithm we proposed hasless expected handoff number at the same overloadprobability.

The binary relation inference network (BRIN) showspromise in obtaining the global optimal solution in a timeindependent of the problem size. However, the realization of thismerge is depended on the implemation platforms. In this paper,analog implementation of BRIN for two different directed graphproblems is studied. As transitive closure problems can transformto a special case of shortest path problems or a special case ofmaximum spanning tree problems, two different forms of BRIN arediscussed. Their circuits using common analog integrated circuitsare investigated. Also, the BRIN solution for critical path problemsis expressed. It is implemented using the separated building blockcircuit and the combined building block circuit. As these circuitsare different, the response time of the network will be ***,a simple circuit does not promise to give a faster solutiontime for BRIN.

In this study, we proposed aspecification which is able to estimate theuncertainty more easily and quickly and alsoable to maintain a confidence level whenmeasuring the magnitude and phase of 1-portand 2-port transmission reflection coefficientusing a VNA and attached coaxial cable probes. This proposed specification is available whenit needs extra special condition of uncertaintyestimation and when there is no additionalstandard equipment like as beadless airline ormismatch standard at the measurement *** compared and examined this proposeduncertainty estimation method with recommendedEA specification and Agilent specification. As a result, we think that this proposedspecification can be used as a reference foruncertainty estimation and calculation of VNAsystem, that is, a reference based on theISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

Various network applications are developing fast in recentyears. A large-scale network switching system is needed tosatisfy all the demands among network service providers andpopulations, such as data, voice, image, video, video on demand,videoconferencing, telecommunications,remote control andteaching, etc. A general large-scale network switching systemcannot fulfill the various application needs, such as thecorrectness of data transmission and the capacity of extensionswitch's input/output port. In this paper, we propose a nested ring-based architecture tobuild a very larg-scale network switching system. In order tosatisfy the various network application needs, a nested ring-based architecture is designed as a switching element. It can letinput data exchange fast to destination output port,and itsinput/output port can easily be extended up to 100 ports or 1000ports, to become a very large-scale network switching system. The simulation results show that a better performance in datatransmission, delay, throughput and extensibility can beachieved in the proposed system.

In recent years, there is much attentionon software defined radio(SDR) schemes for highspeed multimedia applications in near future. It isrequired that the SDR system is flexible enough tosupport multiple air interfaces and signalprocessing functions at the same time. And also,digital signal processors and FPGAs are widelyused for implementation of these adaptive andflexible functions of a baseband modem for SDRapplications. Meanwhile, it is known that themodulation schemes of OCQPSK (OrthogonalComplex QPSK) and HPSK (Hybrid PSK) are usedfor IMT-2000 services of synchronous systems andasynchronous sysems, respectively. Thus, wedesign and implement an OCQPSK / HPSK modemusing a DSP chip with consideration of SDRconcepts. One modulation scheme is operated byadaptive selection between the two schemes and 5physical traffic channels differentiated byorthogonal codes are implemented in one DSP chipand each channel has 1Mbps data rates and 8Mcpschip rates.

This paper proposes a wavelength sensor based onthe optical directional coupler. The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) is used in analysis of the field intensity of thelight propagating thorough the structure. The device with thewidth of 0.4 μm and the thickness of 0.4 μm, correspondingwith the coupling length of 40μm, would provide the linearrelationship between the coupling efficiency against thewavelength. The device can be employed to sense thewavelength in a range between 1.5μm and 1.6μm, withcontinuous resolutions. The wide wavelength could be alsodone by paralleling the light to a number of wavelength-sensingmodules with particularly required bands. Therefore, theproposed structure could be employed as the wavelengthsensing for most optical communications, optoelectronics andlaser applications.

This paper presents a theoretical study andexperimental results of using phase-shift technique todilate the output spectrum of a five-levelneutral-point-clamped (NPC) pulse width modulated(PWM) H-bridge inverter It is shown that the outputspectrum can be made to consist of the multiple of thefourth order cross-modulated harmonics with appropriatephase-shift combination. The spectrum dilation offers anadvantage of reducing both the number and magnitudes ofthe low-order signal harmonics without increasing thecarrer frequency which will inevitably increase theswitching loss. Experimental results obtained from aproof-of-conccpt prototype with a 10kHz triangular carrierand 200Hz sinusoidal modulating signal confirm thesuperior features of the proposed scheme.

We propose a new algorithm for digital image watermarkingbased on the characteristics of vector quantization (VQ) in thispaper. In contrast with the conventional watermark embeddingalgorithms to embed only one watermark at a time into originalsource, we present an algorithm to embed multiple watermarksfor copyright protection. The embedding and extractionprocesses are efficient for implementing with the conventionalVQ techniques. After embedding, the embedder would outputone watermarked reconstruction image and secret keysassociated with the embedded watermarks. These secret keysare then registered to the third party to preserve the ownershipof the original source in order to prevent the attackers frominserting counterfeit watermarks. Simulation results show thatif there are some intentional attacks, all the watermarks couldsurvive to protect the copyrights. Therefore, we are able toclaim the robustness, usefulness. and ease of implementationof our algorithm.
