Advances of mobile communication technologies anddevice technologies brought the mobile computing era wherepeople use multiple information devices such as a PDA, acellular phone and a handheld PC to connect with variousInternet services. Very often, the client device needs to exchangemultiple packages or messages with a server in the course ofservice access which is called a session. There are several waysfor a server to keep certain information that is required to beinaintained during a session. This study proposes andimplements three of these mechanisms for a stateful server. Wecarry out the performance measurement from theimplementations and compare each mechanism.

The proposed work is a probabilistic location man-agement strategy in cellular mobile environment. Theentire area covered by cellular architechture is consid-ered as a hierarchy of location areas considering mo-bile switching centre (MSC) as the root of the *** mobile switching centre maintains an indexeddatabase to keep the frequency of traversal of all thevisiting mobile units in the cells under it. When a callarrives for a particular mobile unit, mobile switchingcentre computes the location probability of the calledmobile unit at all the nodes under it with the help offrequencies associated with those nodes correspondingto the called mobile unit in the database and performthe best first search to find the best probable cell(s)where the desired mobile unit may be traced, Finallyexperiments are carried out to see the varition of sys-tem cost with time simulating the movement patternby gaussian distribution.

The main objective of this paper is to construct adistributed environment through which the contingencyselection for voltage security analysis, line overloads and thereactive power limit violations of multi-area power systemscan be monitored and controlled. A single-server/multi-clientarchitecture has been proposed which enables that theneighboring power systems can access the remote contingencyserver at any time, with their respective contingency data andcan able to get the contingency ranking based on theirperformance indices. An RMI (Remote Method Invocation)based distributed model has been developed in such a waythat for every specific period of time, the remote contingencyserver obtains the system data simultaneously from theneighboring power systems which are the clients registeredwith it and the server send back contingency ranking listbased on the performance index as response to the respectiveclients. Security assessment studies are carried out andpreventive and corrective actions are dealt with to keep thesystem in secure state. The contingency server creates a newthread of control for every client request and hence completedistributal environmend has been exploited.

The DSP-based fuzzy logic controller for a batterycharger has been investigated in this paper. Theconventional battery charger experiences a highlydistorted current harmonic waveform and low powerfactor. Thus, the proposed battery charger with a fuzzylogic controller to improve the line power quality anddeliver maximum allowable output power to the *** fuzzy control algorithm is implemented with theDigital Signal Processor (DSP) to optimize a fuzzy rule-based system to produce the desired *** TMS320C5x DSP is employed to supply the pulsewidth modulation (PWM) waveforms and to perform thefuzzy control feedback. The PWM waveforms arerequired to generate gating signals for the *** DSP-based fuzzy controller in turn provides controlover the PWM pattern. The fuzzy controller continuouslymonitors the state of battery and controls the PWMaccordingly. This simple and reliable DSP-based fuzzycontrol provides an easier implementation and optimumperformance for the battery charger.

BGP-4 is the most primary inter-domainrouting protocol in Internet. In order to optimize thetopology of network, establish reasonable routing policyand consummate the implemeniation of BGP-4, it isnecessary to set up correct model of its routing informationpropagation and analyze the feature of propagation *** first, this paper analyzes the basic routing algorithm ofBGP,then focuses on the relationship between link stateinformation and network's topology and points out theeffect of the routing policies to BGP routing informationpropagation. Then we present the method of analyzing thebest propagation process of routing information undersome certain BGP routing policies for the first time,provides this method's validity in theory and applies it toanalyze the process and payload of routing informationpropagation in several simple topologies. The results havebeen used to guide the actual network's configuration andmanagement and the implementation of BGP-4, and gainperfect effects.

This paper considers the problem of designingthe logical topology for any wavelength routed opticalnetwork, given the traffic matrix. A heuristic algorithm isproposed here for designing topologies based on De-Bruijngraph and compare our results with those obtained throughdeterministic approach. De-Bruijn graph is selected in thiscontext as the logical topology because of some of itscharacteristic features like simple routing scheme, lowdiameter and small degree.

For the recognition of online hand-sketched engineeringdrawing, many concepts such as sketch's center of gravity, gravity radiiand regularized gravity radii (RGR) are introduced and ahand-sketched neural network recognizing approach is proposed. Inthis approach, the hand-sketched classifier is constructed by extractingthe RGR of hand-sketched primitives as their features, by crossing thefour primitives' RGR values as the learning samples of BP neuralnetwork, which is trained by using the adaptive learning algorithm ofgradient descend plus momentum item. The experiments demonstratethat not only the classifier can recognize the hand-sketched primitivesof arbitrary directions and positions but also its abilities of anti-noisingand identifying are very robust. Furthermore,it needn't be retrained inthe application Those methods are also significant for the recognitionof scanning engineering drawing.

The performance of the biped system under the applicationof Active Force Control (AFC) is evaluated by making thebiped walk on a horizontal plane surface, in which thelocomotion is constrained within the sagittal plane. Thedynamic equations Jot a biped are nonlinear and highlycoupled, and hence the biped does not perform well withthe pure PD control. The effectiveness of the proposedmethod (Active Force Control with Crude Approximation-AFC-CA) is investigated and it is found that the system isrobust and stable even under the influence of disturbances.

One of the most powerful techniques used forelectromagnetic field computation in real structures is theFinite Difference Method (FDM)for evaluation ofelectromagnetic fields established in systems of relativelysmall size such as power transformers and generators. Thisis due to the availability of powerful computers and thearising interest in electromagnetic interactions with stronglyinhomogeneous structures having complicated geometriesVery little work based on FDM has been reported in the caseof large systems with large size problem domain, whichcomprise long-distance power transmission lines. This paperfocuses on develeping FDM procedures for the numericalevaluation of electromagnetic fields established by currentsin power transmisston lines. particularly by those in singlephase-to-earth fault condition. Attention has been paid inthis problem for creating a new and easy technique forsolving the electromagnetic field at long distance from thetransmission line using a technique based on a variable stepsize for the grid of FDM.

The technique of lossless image compression playsan important role in image transmission and storage for highquality. At present, both the compression ratio and processingspeed should be considered in a real-time multimedia *** this paper. a novel lossless compression algorithm isresearched. A low complexity predictive model is proposedusing the correlation of pixels and color components. In themeantime, perceptron in neural network is used to rectify theprediction values adaptively. It makes the prediction residualssmaller and in a small dynamic scope. Also a color spacetransforms is used and good decorrelation is obtained in ouralgorithm. Compared to the new standard JPEG-LS, thispredictive model reduces its computational complexity. Thecompared experiment results have shown that our algorithmhas noticeable better performance than the traditionalalgorithms. Moreover, its speed is faster than the JPEG-LSwith negligible performance sacrifice.
