The home automation network (HAN) has becomean important research topic for the past few *** and technologies for HAN have beenproposed and are frequently discussed in bothacademic and industrial circles. The residentialgateway (RG) is the cross-connect device thathandles all external accesses to HAN. The RG has toprovide the network address translation (NAT)mechanism for solving the addressing problem, sincethe IPv4 addressing scheme is inadequate for today'sInternet;i.e., it is impossible to assign a unique IPaddress to every in-home devices. All IP-sensitiveapplications on RG can cause security problemswhile using the NAT *** Realm Specific IP(RSIP) provides an alternative to remedy thislimitation, but complications still exist. In this paper,we propose solutions to these complications by usingthe lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP).We define a LDAP schema that can be used to storeall necessary information generated by *** in conjunction with the LDAP schema providesa robust mechanism for dealing with the networkaddress translation problem of HAN.

In this paper, we propose a coarse estimationscheme of carrier frequency offset in orthogonal frequencydivision multiplexing (OFDM)systems. The proposed methoduses the correlation which is put between the subcarriers of thetraining symbols to estimate the integer part of the relativefrequency offset. The algorithm can estimate relativetly widerange of carrier frequency offset in spite of its much lowercomputational complexity compared to the conventionalcross-correlation methods. Simulation results show that themissing rate of the coarse estimator is sufficiently low and thevariance of the final estimates approaches the Cramer-Raolower bound at resonable range of signal- to-noise ratios(SNR's).

In a PC cluster system used in educationalsetting, directory service has been introduced for a inte-gration of user account databases on multiple OS plat-forms. In order to evaluate the system, a performancemeasurement method is developed based on lookup userinformation paths. As a result of the evaluation, the per-formance is deteriorated by the integration of the user ac-count databases. Since name service performance of UNIXenvironment is impractical use using the directory service, abypass system based on Network Information Service (NIS)is developed to solve the performance problem.

It is not easy to know the performance of acontrol system because of the need to obtainits mathematical model, especially forcomplex systems. A new method, which isknown as Fuzzy Logic is proposed toovercome this. The concept is based onhuman's approach. This paper discusses a simulation onits use on induction motor control to obtaingood result. Performance indicators which areused as the references are: Peak Time (Tp),Maximum Overshoot (Mp), Settling Time(Ts), and Steady State Error (Ess). FuzzyLogic Controller that is used in the system hasparameters that can be selected to get a goodperformance. One of these is its membershipfunction. Performance of FLC is influenced bythe membership function used. When themembership function is defined by parameterx, y, and z, we can obtain a particular ratio ofthem. By changing the ratio, the best outputresponse of the system can be achieved.

As fabrication technology advances, devices andinterconnection wires are placed in closer proximity andcircuits operate at higher frequencies. This results incrosstalk between wire segments. Work on routing channelswith reduced crostalk is a very important area of currentresearch [1, 6]. In this paper we show that the crosstalkminimization problem in the reserved two-layer Manhattanrouting model is NP-complete, even for the channels withoutany vertical constraints. Since minimizing crosstalk is NP-complete, we propose simple and efficient polynomial timeheuristic algorithms that reduce crosstalk more than 35% onan average on a given routing solution of minimum area.

In this paper, we present an efficient technique for the stereo-scopic video sequence of robot vision, which yields a fast andacceptable solution for the path planning of the robot. Toderive the depth information in the two-camera vision system theexploit of the relative geometric discrepancies between twoscenes should be made. But finding the corresponding points byusing the technique like dynamic programming takes a lot oftimes. We developed a fast depth estimation algorithm usingthe optical flow based on the method by Horn and Schunck. Themerit of this scheme is that the computational burden can begreatly reduced while obtaining a reasonable solution.

This paper presents a novel multisensor fusion methodusing fuzzy ARTMAP neural network andDempster-Shafer theory of evidence in INS/CCD/SAR(Inertial Navigation System / optical charged device /synthetic aperture radar) integrated systems. In thismethod,the CCD and SAR systems work *** work takes effect in the decision-making level, notin the pixel level. First,this method use fuzzy ARTMAPNN to classified both the CCD and SAR real-time imagesaccording to the image quality,then those 'good' real-timeimages are matched with CCD and SAR reference imagesrespectively,and get matching positions;and then, the twomatching positions are fused by D-S theory of evidence tojudge which position is more accurate;finally, the fusionresult is integrated with INS to attain the optimal stateestimation of navigation/guidance parameters. Simulationresults show that this fusion method can improve theprecision of the end guidance *** INS, CCD, SAR, fuzzy ARTMAP neuralnetwork, D-S theory of evidence, decision-making,multisensor fusion.

In this paper we study constrained multicast in WDMnetworks under multi-drop model. Under this model to route a givenmulticast connection is to produce a set of light-trees rooted at thesource such that at most κdestinations are designated in each light-tree where the data drops and every destination must receive the datain such a way. The cost of routing is the total costs of light-trees con-structed. To allocate wavelengths to the multicast connection is toassign a wavelength to each light-tree in such a way that two light-trees must be assigned different wavelengths if they share a commonfiber link. In the paper we first prove that the problem of findingthe multi-drop routing of minimal cost is polynomial-time solvable forκ=2 and NP-hard for κ>2. We then propose some routing algo-rithms with guaranteed constant approximation performance *** simulation study shows that compared with point-to-point con-nection multi-drop routing can significantly save not only the networkcost but also wavelengths, and when κ>5 its performance is veryclose to the performance of unconstrained multicast.

This paper presents an investigation of thecharacteristics and performance of a Photovoltaic (PV)-dieselHybrid Energy System for teaching and research purposes. Thesystem was developed at the Cantre forRenewable Energy andSustainable Technologies Australia (CRESTA)at CurtinUniversity, Australia. It is intended that the system will beintroduced to remote areas where the main electricity grids arenot available. The system comprises of PV module of 1 .2kWp,a 5 kVA diesel generator, a 5 kVA bi-directional inverter and a13 kWh battery bank. It also incorporates a weather stationwhich measures the horizontal and tilt(32°) irradiation, ambienttemperature and barometer pressure. Date from the site havebeen recorded continuously. The average global radiation is 5. 17kWh/day and the tilt radiation is 5.62 kWh/day. Theperformance ratio of the PV-array has been calculatedapproximately as 0.6. The average fuel efficiency of the motorgenerator is 1. 67 kWh/ltr based on a predictive control *** battery efficiency is 0.96 while and the overall systemefficiency is found to be 0.64. The system runs in synchronismwith a diesel generator and a predictive control strategy, whichis based on the theoretical control principles for optimum supplyside management.

While LNA （Low Noise Amplifier） hasseveral requirements （high gain, low noisefigure, low in out VSWR, and high stability）, itis difficult to satisfy desired specifications alltogether. Moreover, W-CDMA （Wideband CodeDivision Multiple Access） receiving systemsrequire high linearity to have good sensitivity,and the portable communication devices do lowpower consumption. It is important to select aappropriate transistor and have some trade offsamong required specifications to satisfy andoptimize various specifications. In this study, we designed and fabricated anLNA which can be used in W-CDMA receivingsystem For improving input VSWR and stabilityan inductance composing series feedback wasadded to emitter. and for acquiring high linearityat low DC bias current By-passing method wasused. Fabricated LNA had power gain 15.33 dB,NF 2.17 dB, S 9.53 dB, S 35.91 dB at 2.16GHz, and ⅡP +5.34 dBm with 10 MHz channelspacing. We think that this LNA can be appliedto W-CDMA Receiving System.
