Graphs have great expressive power to describe the complex relationships among data objects, and there are large graph datasets available such as Web data, semi-structured data and XML data. In this paper, we describe our work on querying graph-structured data, including graph labeling methods, reachability joins, and graph pattern matching. We show that we can base on the graph labeling of complex XML and semi-structured data to process path queries and we devise join primitives for matching graph patterns. Novel aspects about using such join primitives for graph pattern matching are addressed.

Reliable transport protocols such as the transmission control protocol (TCP) are tuned to perform well in traditional wired networks where packet losses occur mostly because of congestion. However, networks with wireless and lossy links also suffer from significant packet losses due to bit errors and hand-offs. TCP Westwood (TCPW) is a recently proposed sender-side modification of TCP congestion control. The main point is to investigate those proposed bandwidth estimate algorithms in TCPW and then propose an enhanced one. We use simulation to validate the performance of the new algorithm.

The paper proposed a new encryption algorithm of one dimension chaotic map, which based on parameter randomly changing. Through the randomly changing of parameter and iteration times, the complicated degree of chaotic sequences and cryptographic specific property are strengthened, and improved algorithm has n times long cycle compared to original function. Theory analysis to the mapping is well-distributed, and self-correlation and mutual-correlation is also good property. Through encryption test, it shows that new algorithm has high security , is realized easily ,and the encryption speed is very fast.

Software resources are always important and expensive for users. Sharing existing software resources and paying for their usages become big challenges in grid environment. While existing license management systems are only suitable for LAN environment, a novel grid middleware, named LicTraveler, is developed for global license sharing across various domains. The two-leveled hierarchical architecture allows both autonomous local service and cooperative global service. It provides strong security and flexible reservation & quota policies for licensing activities. Flexible license distributing and scheduling policies are also provided. Experiments show that LicTraveler helps corporations reducing their redundant investments and promoting license efficiencies as much as 50%.

Proxy Certificates (PCs) is one of key mechanisms in Grid Security Infrastructure (GSI). Users need PCs to access grid service. But there is no effective mechanism to manage the PCs in GSI. In order to apply GSI in Military Grid, a novel adaptive Proxy Certificates management scheme is brought forward based on the hierarchical one-way hash chains. The hierarchical one-way chain consists of two or more levels of chains, where values of a first-level chain act as roots of a set of second-level chains and each PC is protected by a hash value, so the PCs' available time can be controlled adaptively and safely. The experimental results indicate that the scheme more adapt to the Military Grid environments. © ifip international Federation for Information Processing 2007.

Active network has been applied widely recently. The current status is that there is coexistence of multi-PKI in heterogeneous domains. We have noticed there are little work has been done in cross-certification for heterogeneous domains. In this paper, we propose a cross-authentication model for the raised issue. Our system implements mutual entity authentication among heterogeneous domains based on Cert-PKI and ID-PKI. The theoretical analysis and the preliminary experiments demonstrate that the proposed system possesses the properties of high security and stability.

A new Web server cluster architecture with high scalability and reliability which supports Web QoS is proposed. The functions previously concentrated on a single dispatcher are distributed in this architecture, the traffic bottleneck of the dispatcher is alleviated, and the single point fault of dispatcher is avoided, so the scalability and reliability of the cluster system can be enhanced. Accessing locality on server is guaranteed by synchronous load transferring. The load balancing among the servers is achieved through a mechanism based on load vector. By measuring in experimental system, the increasing of throughput has linear relationship with the number of servers. So the QoS of the whole system is guaranteed.

Motivated by frequency hopping for military environment, this paper introduces a DoS/DDoS evading paradigm through service hopping technique, which changes the service information such as port number or network address pseudo-randomly. A skeleton of DoS evading is established upon hopping tactic. Thereafter, theoretical analysis of evading performance is carried out; experimental validation is well performed on a centralized hopping prototype and a distributed system. Our study shows that faster tactic of port and address hopping can be able to provide better service under DoS attacks; however, excessively faster scheme would cause much service problem because of transmission delay and traffic jam.

Wireless sensor networks represent a new generation of real-time embedded systems with significantly different communication constraints from the traditional networked systems. With their development, a new attack called a path- based DoS (PDoS) attack has appeared. In a PDoS attack, an adversary, either inside or outside the network, overwhelms sensor nodes by flooding a multi-hop end-to- end communication path with either replayed packets or injected spurious packets. Detection and recovery from PDoS attacks have not been given much attention in the literature. In this article, we propose a solution using mobile agents which can detect PDoS attacks easily and efficiently and recover the compromised nodes.

Wavelength assignment is a key topic in optical WDM networks. How to realize different parallel communication patterns on optical interconnection networks is a hot research field. In this paper, we address the problem of wavelength assignment for realizing parallel matrix multiplication on a class of regular optical WDM networks. Based on the algorithm already proposed, a data partition pattern MKDR is proposed. Then the wavelength assignments of realizing parallel matrix multiplication communication pattern on WDM array, ring, mesh and double-loop network are discussed, and the wavelength numbers are also given, which are 2min(q,r)+2, min(q,r)+2,2 and 2 respectively for a q*r submatrixes.
