This paper is proposing the household energy management and warning system for energy saving solution. The overall control scheme is mainly governed by a dsPIC33 microcontroller. There are four subsystems to be concerned (i) air-condition's inverter control, (ii) fluorescence brightness control, (iii) power switching control (for general loads such as television, radio, fan, etc.), (iv) household electricity usage warning system. This whole system can monitor the power usage and display through a LCD monitor. Then, it can warn the users through LED bulbs when the power usage is getting close to the monthly prescribed energy usage levels. An experiment conducted by installing this system in an apartment room has shown a satisfactory result in reducing power usage level.

Wavelet FIR filter architecture using pipelined addition reordering (PAR) technique is designed and presented in this paper. The average adder cost and computation time for the proposed PAR algorithm is compared with other existing graphical algorithms. Experimental results show that PAR algorithm reduces the hardware cost by 14% compared to RAG-n (reduced adder graph) and 17% compared to BHM (modified bull and horrocks) algorithm. The speed of the circuit is found to increase by a factor of 3.7 when compared to ordinary addition reordering technique. The proposed algorithm is significant due to the increased throughput, low average power dissipation and reduced latency.

Infantile Cerebral Palsy (ICP) is characterized by impairment of neuromuscular systems, and sensory disorders, which produce a limitation on the activity. At present, the latest developments in Information Technologies (IT) and assistive technology (AT) provide a wide variety of techniques and resources that can be used to facilitate acquisition of motor skills, processing and communication in people affected by ICP and whose management requires responses more simples. In-Tic is a free software development for the authors. This tool can be individually adapted and adjusted to suit the needs of users with activity limitations or participation restrictions. These interfaces follow the principles of Design for All and they have been drawn up by a multidisciplinary team of health science professionals (an occupational therapist, geriatrist, speech therapist, etc.) and computer engineers and users, thereby guaranteeing their operability and functionality for the latter group This document presents two practical cases that, with the same type of ICP, use different devices to access the computer and communication by In-TIC software;after an assessment of their capabilities and functional requirements. Segmentation of vascular structures of retina for implementation of Clinical diabetic retinopathy decision making systems is presented in this paper. As retinal vascular structure is with thin blood vessels, prediction accuracy is highly dependent upon the segmentation and preprocessing schemes. Complex GSZ shock filters have been used for noise suppression and edge enhancement. Binarization algorithms are used to achieve the segmentation of vascular structures of the retina. It has been observed that the combination of shock filter and Binarization provides better segmentation results compared to morphological and region growing methods.

This paper presents the development of an artificial neural network model for the prediction of heating-line positions in induction heating process. This model helps shipyard manufacturers determine the positions of induction heating lines and their heating parameters to form a desired shape of plate. The vertical displacements of plate have been considered as the input parameters and the selected induction heating lines as output parameters to develop the model. The training patterns of neural network are obtained using an analytical solution that predicts plate deformations in induction heating process. The developed neural network model is tested to show its feasibility to determine the heating positions on the surface of a flat steel plate in the line heating process for forming a desired shape.

Today, software system development (especially safety critical systems) is a complex task. Any bug in these systems may cause serious and costly problems. In this paper, we propose a formal and automatic approach to refinement platform independent models to more platform specific ones. Using graph transformation systems as background formalism, we can validate the approach to being sure about its correctness. For each level of abstraction, using the designed formal styles, we define proper graph rules to refine the models. In comparison to the existing approaches which only consider the structural parts of the model, our proposal consider the behavioral parts of the models for refinement.
