Modern software applications require internationalization to be distributed to different regions of the world. In various situations, many software applications are not internationalized at early stages of development. To internationalize such an existing application, developers need to externalize some hard-coded constant strings to resource files, so that translators can easily translate the application into a local language without modifying its source code. Since not all the constant strings require externalization, locating those need-to-translate constant strings is a necessary task that developers must complete for internationalization. In this paper, we present an approach to automatically locating need-to-translate constant strings. Our approach first collects a list of API methods related to the Graphical User Interface (GUI), and then searches for need-to-translate strings from the invocations of these API methods based on string-taint analysis. We evaluated our approach on four real-world open source applications., RText, Risk, ArtOfIllusion, and Megamek. The results show that our approach effectively locates most of the need-to-translate constant strings in all the four applications.

Considering the design iteration and the resource conflict simultaneous, an approach, in which the finite-state Markov model was constructed to describe the PDPs, was presented to evaluate the mission-time of Quick Response Manufacturing System (QRMS). With application of the first arrival time distribution of Markov renewal processes, an algorithm which can evaluate the mission-time distribution has been raised. In this article we discuss our research in developing general and systematic methods for intrusion detection. The key ideas are to use data mining techniques to discover consistent and useful patterns of system features that describe program and user behavior, and use the set of relevant system features to compute (inductively learned) classifiers that can recognize anomalies and known intrusions. The paper also discusses the current level of computer security development in Tanzania with particular interest in IDS application with the fact that approach is easy to implement with less complexity to computer systems architecture, less dependence on operating environment (as compared with other security-based systems) and ability to detect abuse of user privileges easily. The findings are geared towards developing security infrastructure and providing ICT services.

Assessing quality of distorted/decompressed images without reference to the original image is difficult because extracted features are not exact and complex relationship exists between image features and its visual quality. The paper aims at assessing the quality of distorted/decompressed images without any reference to the original image by developing a fuzzy inference system (FIS). Five benchmark images are decompressed with varied codebook size and divided into different regions. Several statistical features of these regions and mean opinion score (MOS) based quality of images are applied as input and output, respectively of the FIS rule generation process. The parameters of the FIS are tuned to improve accuracy in quality prediction by implementing an adaptive network based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The error between the computed output of the FIS (predicted quality) and the supplied target value (quality obtained under ideal conditions of decompression) is minimized using supervised learning algorithm. Quality of decompressed and various noise incorporated test images are predicted without reference to the original image producing output comparable with other no reference techniques. Results are validated with the objective and subjective image quality measures.
