A robotic software environment tested in the real autonomous mini-vehicle BENDER 2.0, designed for educational purposes, is presented in this paper. Future computer Science engineers have used this framework to learn Concurrent Programming techniques on a real system. The successful results obtained show the significance of using real environments in practicals, in order to acquire the necessary abilities in the field of computing. Both the mechanical assembly of the mini-robot and the development of software components have been carried out taking into account its educational purpose. In order to implement concurrent programs, the YARP middleware library has been used together with POSIX threads, mutex objects and condition variables, in a Linux-based environment.

A Collaborative Design Frame based on Virtual Prototype and virtual Manufacturing (CDFVPM) is explored. In CDFVPM, the Virtual Product Prototype (VPP) used as a product shared information database, and to view the product during design process before creation of any physical prototype, to detect the product’s performance by simulating the product’s working process and interactive using process. The engineers related to developing products do collaborative jobs by working on the virtual product prototypes. The Synthetic Evaluation System (SES) is used to evaluate the product’s quality and performance at every phase during product development process. Virtual Manufacturing System (VMS) is used as a visual interactive simulation environment so that the engineers or customers are immersed in this environment and designed products are apperceived or controlled. By supporting of VPP/SES/VMS, the product development cycle will be shortened considerably;the product quality and performance will also be ensured effectively. Application examples are given.

The SpiNNaker project aims to develop parallel computer systems with more than a million embedded processors. The goal of the project is to support large-scale simulations of systems of spiking neurons in biological real time, an application that is highly parallel but also places very high loads on the communication infrastructure due to the very high connectivity of biological neurons. The scale of the machine requires fault-tolerance and power-efficiency to influence the design throughout, and the development has resulted in innovation at every level of design, including a self-timed inter-chip communication system that is resistant to glitch-induced deadlock and `emergency' hardware packet re-routing around failed inter-chip links, through to run-time support for functional migration and real-time fault mitigation.

One certainty in software development is that requirements always evolve. To effectively handle requirements evolution, determining the impact of requirements evolution from quantitative perspectives is a breakthrough. This paper first defines labelled requirements and requirements models by array, which is simple and effective to express requirements or models. Then respectively creates requirements model adjacency matrix and reachability matrix . Depending on matrix shift and calculation, a series of Requirements Evolution ripple-effects are formularized. At the same time, ripple-effect analysis for requirements evolution operations is discussed. An example supports the quantitative models underlying the proposed metrics. This work provides a new method for effectively managing and controlling and evaluating requirements evolution, and building an effect requirements analysis and management tool.

SaaS (Software as a Service) is becoming a popular research field for its feature of novel schema in software development. In this schema, service providers are in charge of constructing, managing and maintaining the necessary IT supporting infrastructure and the platform for operating services, while tenants take use of the customization functions to cement their own individual applications on the platform. However, current studies on customization mechanisms are difficult in validating the complex relationships between customized composites in the customization phase. In the view of this situation, this paper proposes a customization relationship model for supporting the multi-granularity relationship in the multi-tenant environment of SaaS. Analyzing from data, service, process and user interface levels, it guides the actions of customization behavior. We also bring forward corresponding engines and validation algorithms to guarantee the correction of customization production by tenants.

In the modern car, electronic devices are even employed for safety-critical missions like brake control, where failures might cost human lives. Among various approaches to increase the reliability of those devices, pervasive formal verification most securely rules out all systematic failures. The main target of the Verisoft project is the development of technology for pervasive verification. Its application has been demonstrated in the automotive context by an exemplary distributed system consisting of hardware, a real-time operating system, and application programs. The contribution of this paper is a formal refinement proof linking an abstract specification of this real-time operating system to its C implementation.

This paper presents XLOP (XML language-oriented processing), an environment that permits the description of XML processing applications with attribute grammars (formalism used to describe the semantics of computer languages). The environment also includes a generator able to translate attribute grammar-based specifications into the specification language of CUP, a well-known YACC-like environment for writing language processors. The final goal of XLOP is to facilitate the development and maintenance of XML processing applications, whilst preserving the flexibility of general-purpose XML processing models. Also, since it is based on attribute grammars, XLOP provides a higher abstraction level than other similar translation scheme-based approaches.

The enterprise information security which should be evaluated effectively and efficiently is very important to the development of the enterprise. The enterprise information security is inevitable to the profit organization and the non-profit organizations. Only the ability of the enterprise information security was evaluated, can the enterprise be developed prosperously. Nowadays, if the enterprise want to be developed prosperously, the ability on the enterprise information security must be arisen unceasingly, which is urgent to adapt to the development of the information technology and meet the higher profit's demands. Through introducing the enterprise and the content of the unascertained measure model, this article analyzed the advantages of the unascertained measure model and elaborated the implication of the unascertained measure model on the ability of enterprise information security. Moreover, the process of the Evaluation example of the enterprise information security was proposed about the unascertained measure model, which is useful to the development to the enterprise. Lastly but not the least, the Security policy was introduced to make the enterprises developed even more safely, which gives the enterprises an effective and perfect method to develop the enterprises.

Feature subset selection is of immense importance in the field of data mining. The increased dimensionality of data makes testing and training of general classification method difficult. This paper presents the development of a model for classifying Pima Indian diabetic database (PIDD). The model consists of two stages. In the first stage, genetic algorithm (GA) and Correlation based feature selection have been used in a cascaded fashion. GA rendered global search of attributes with fitness evaluation effected by CFS. The second stage a fine tuned classification is done using artificial neural networks by making the feature subset elicited in the first stage as inputs for the network. Experimental results signify that the feature subset identified by the proposed filter when given as input to Back propagation neural network classifier, lead to enhanced classification accuracy.

For proper design of microwave components, such as filters, oscillators, mixers, and other microwave devices, the dielectric constant of the substrate must be known. Therefore, the main aim of this paper is to measure the dielectric constant of some Libyan materials, such as plastic and clay, to find out if they can be used as raw materials for many microwave devices that can be designed in the future. The measurements were done using two different methods, the microstrip ring resonator method and the two-layer stripline method. The paper includes the necessary designs of ring resonator, and the microstrip line, which were used in the measurements. A good result for the measurement of a dielectric constant of the material is obtained compared to the similar materials in the open literature.
