Manufacturing enterprises are seeking more advanced and more effective manufacture method and management mode in order to meet the requirements of market. Virtual enterprise as the important framework of agile manufacturing system has become the main evolvement goal of manufacturing enterprises. Virtual enterprise comprises several member enterprises, so virtual enterprise can eliminate the restriction of technology and resources in the independent enterprise. Manufacture efficiency and quality of product can be enhanced. Obviously, the product development management is a very important task of virtual enterprise. Authors put forward applying the Unified Modeling Language to establishing the visual model of product development management in virtual enterprise. Moreover, authors set forth the detailed modeling methods and processes of use case diagram, activity diagram, sequence diagram and collaboration diagram. Then the visual model can be integrated with the diagrams. According to the visual model, the product development management in virtual enterprise can be arranged rationally, and then the manufacture efficiency can be enhanced markedly.

Today modern software development is not possible without the aid of tools like version control systems, bug tracking systems or instruments that ensure the compliance with code conventions. Unfortunately, all of these tools ldquolive in their own worldrdquo, are only loosely coupled and do not interact with each other. RepoGuard addresses this problem by linking version control systems to other software development tools. It is implemented as an extension to several version control systems and provides interfaces to integrate other tools. The use of RepoGuard allows maximum control and validation of all committed resources before they are permanently stored. Additionally, RepoGuard provides communication channels in order to inform all relevant stakeholders about the failure or success of the process. Overall, RepoGuard provides simple but effective means to guarantee software quality standards in distributed development processes.

Today, the B2B E-business systems in most enterprises usually have multiple heterogeneous and independent systems which are based on different platforms and operate in different functional departments. To deal with the increased services in future, an enterprise needs to expand its system continuously. This, however, will cause great inconvenience to the future system maintenance. To implement E-business successfully, a unified internal E-business integration environment must be established to integrate the internal system and thus realize a unified internal mechanism within the enterprise E-business system. The SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) architecture, however, can well meet the above requirements. The integration of SOA- architecture-based applications can reduce the dependency of different types of IT systems, reduce the cost of system maintenance and the complexity of the IT system operation, increase the flexibility of the system deployment, and at the same time exclude the barrier of service innovation. Research and application of SOA-architecture-based enterprise application systems has become a very important research project at present. As an important SOA implementation, Web services is a relatively new technology widely accepted by people. This is because Web services provides a distributed computing method for the heterogene- ous applications integrated in the Internet. It can integrate the applications running on the distributed servers which are connected through Intranet, Extranet, and Internet together. Based on SOA, this document designs an enterprise E-business application model and realizes a flexible and expandable E-business platform.

In agile software development methods such as Scrum, software is developed in self-organizing teams. In such teams, leadership should be diffused rather than centralized; also the team-members need to affect managerial decisions for achieving the benefits of a self-managed team. When the team and team leaders share leadership, leadership is rotated to the person with the key knowledge, skills, and abilities for the particular issues facing the team at any given moment. Therefore, we argue that the team leadership in Scrum should be divided among the Product-owner, Scrummaster, and the self-organizing team. If teams are to succeed at implementing shared leadership in Scrum, not only do the vertical (or traditional) leaders need training and development but so too do the team members themselves.

With the rapid development of the Internet, social networking on Web2.0 becomes a novel social media for mass communication. It relies on new online technologies and practices to enable ordinary people to share opinions, insights, expertise, experiences, and interests with each other and further reduce the barriers to collaboration, skill-building and discovery. Web2.0 as the next generation of networking services emphasizes social interaction and share of user-generated content in a collaborative environment. It has evolved and transferred the Internet into a platform by supporting rich digital media technology for the development of innovative business, educational, and cultural applications. In conjunction with Web 3D technology, social networking has already begun to foster an intuitive and immersive system that allows effective visual communication and delivers real time natural interactive experience for enhancing user motivation and engagement compared with the traditional static and text-oriented online information systems and content management systems.

With the increasing complexity of embedded systems, component-based software development (CBSD) is regarded as a beneficial approach for embedded systems. For component technology, applications are built by assembling interacting components and interfaces are the means by which components interact. Embedded systems are usually safety-critical applications. There is a real need for clear and sound definition of operational semantics for the composition of components such that they may be used to direct the construction of the desired system and help to make analysis of behaviors and properties. This paper describes the composition semantics of component-based embedded software architecture in terms of the communicating sequential language (CSP). Three types of interfaces: procedure call, data access and event are classified. And the composition semantics for each type is presented. The overall objective is to provide a soundly based notation for specifying and verifying embedded software architectures.

Many organizations today have very large databases which grow at very fast rate. Efficient mining techniques are necessary to extract useful information from them. Performing classification on data streams with traditional classification algorithm based on decision tree has relatively poor efficiency in time and space. We made an attempt to create a model which will improve accuracy of classifier. The efficient decision tree construction algorithm uses Hoeffding bound along with information gain to select split point. Since it selects attributes randomly construction of tree is efficient hence it improves accuracy of classifier. Time required for classification is also improved for moderate datasets.

Recently, demands for the next generation lighting sources having higher efficiency and a low carbon footprint has soared. To that end we have pursued the development and commercialization of microplasma arrays capable of producing visible emission with high luminous efficacy. technology originally demonstrated in the Laboratory for Optical Physics and Engineering at the University of Illinois has recently advanced to the point of yield thin planar lamps having active areas of at least 200 cm 2 and producing a white luminance above 10000 cd/m 2 . This new lighting technology is lightweight, below a few mm in thickness, and offers considerable versatility with respect to form factor. In addition to producing light levels, suitable for illumination applications, microplasma arrays provide an environment-friendly, mercury-free lighting source having an expected lifetime of tens of thousands of hours. The technical development of flat lights sources based on microplasma technology and the device performance of various microcavity structures which can generate unique form factors for the future lighting applications will be presented.

A novel learning tool based on the new paradigm well-known as Edutainment using mobile technologies is deployed. The developed tool moves the issue of education to the context of entertainment. This paradigm ensures that education is seen as an activity that provides entertainment and excitement pleasure. This characteristic gives to lifelong learning an added value. Considering that the mobile-phone has had a boom in the last years and that a lot of people already have mobile telephones (approximately 2.5 billions), we have developed a system that makes lifelong learning something natural and effective for education in all fields of development. This obeys to that the new information technology can help us to achieve our perspectives of growth. This system provides to user with a permanent learning in anytime, anywhere and any device (PDA's, cell-phone, NDS, etc.). The English learning was enabled by the use of mobile phones and allowed us to detect some features that benefit learning in these contexts: exploring english independently (2) learning english through collaboration and team work (through Karaoke); (3) learning english in a societal and humanistic environment (4) learning english in authentic real life situations (5) learning english easily and efficiently (6) learning english (7) learning English fun and enjoyable. This indicates that english education could benefit form utilizing these new technological tools.

This paper describes the framework of a marking engine for a free-response mathematics assessment. The objectives set for the engine are to achieve a line-by-line checking of intermediate steps and the final answer as well as assigning a score to each step that is reflective of its correctness. The framework is designed by adapting and applying basic operations and techniques from textual information retrieval. The development of this framework is the result of the findings from research undertaken by previous researchers from our institution. It serves as a theoretical background to formalize our current research in this area.
