Cognitive radio networking is a promising approach to fulfill the future's need for intelligent, high-performance communication and improve the efficiency of overall spectrum utilization. Testbed evaluation of protocols and algorithms is a must for the development of cognitive radio networks. In this paper, we present an integrated testbed framework for cognitive radio networks. The framework includes necessary components for cognitive radio operations: flexible RF front end, software define signal processing, adaptive MAC layer and network layer as well as a cross layer management interface. Such a design eases the cross layer configuration and performance optimization of cognitive protocol stack, while retaining the advantage of modularity. We design a testbed for ad-hoc cognitive radio network.

One decisive element for the development of industry cluster is human intelligence deployed especially those who possess the core and decisive knowledge for the potential development of local district. How to manage their knowledge to the most possible extent become essential. However, literatures on this theme need to be integrated and analyzed to draw a clear map. In this research, firstly core human intelligence for industry cluster are distinguished based on characteristics of industry cluster. Knowledge management method for this special group of research target is discussed. Next, a survey is conducted in Zhongguan Village, a most concentrated area of IT industry clusters in Beijing. Interviews and questionnaires are adopted. Finally, the characteristics and influences of knowledge management for core human intelligence in IT industry cluster are sketched out.

Recently, the development costs for robot software is becoming bigger and bigger. Especially, the robots which works with humans in the home and office environment are expected to have various functions according to its user's demand. Therefore, RT (Robotics technology) Middleware developed by AIST offers the methods to develop desired robot system by combining RT Components. However, various kinds of RT Components are obviously necessary. In this paper, we introduce RT Components for home appliances which will achieve seamless integration with robot system. Moreover, in order to control the home appliances and robots easily, we developed ldquoAdvanced Appliance for Robot Interface (ACARI).rdquo Bedtime support system was developed as an example for the components and ACARI. The usefulness of home appliance components and ACARI were experimentally confirmed by an example system.

Estimating the cost of development is one of the most crucial and daunting tasks for a software project manager. A lot of cost estimation models were reported in the literature but many of these models became obsolete because of the rapid changes in technology. Earlier cost estimation models used the size of the ultimate software product as the primary factor which, in many cases, was difficult to estimate. For example, COCOMO model used the number of Delivered Source Instructions (DSI) which is hard to estimate for products developed using modern programming languages. On the other hand, models such as Function Point (FP) metrics were designed to consider functional requirements instead of lines of code. These models were applicable only to procedural paradigm, and are not directly applicable to software products developed using the object-oriented methodology. It is this idea that gave birth to the creation of Use Case Point (UCP) metrics, originally developed by Gustav Karner[1993]. UCP uses use cases as the primary factor; use case model is the first model developed in an object-oriented design process using UML. In this paper, the authors extended the original UCP model with additional information obtained from use case narratives.

Malaysia is known as the main producer of palm oil in the world. In order to maintain a good quality of palm oil product, the tissue culture process that carried out in the laboratory must be maintained at certain temperature values. Temperature is one of the important parameters that could affect the oil palm growth. A good temperature monitoring environment is necessary in order to produce the good quality products. Nowadays, the wireless sensor technology has grows in many areas of research and development as an alternative for the wired connection method that have been using previously. This project described the application of the wireless devices for the purpose of temperature data collection and storage using digital computer. The information gathered is performed by using the LM35 temperature sensor. This system used the Zigbee transceivers for the communication protocol to transmit and receive the temperature data. The data is send to the computer through the interface of Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) to a personal computer (PC) via USB port. This system will help to minimize the need for wire connections, cost, power consumption and manpower to promote stable environment in order to produce good quality products.

The basic management thought of inventory management information system (IMIS) was established by analyzing the inventory management theory of modern enterprise. In this system which using the architecture of C/S, the stores were classified by ABC management method; the inventory control was completed by setting up the safety stock and the largest stock; the analysis and design of IMIS were finished. This IMIS was developed to meet the practical requirements of small and medium-sized printing enterprise in our country. It can not only be used as the important measure of the informationized construction for small and medium-sized printing enterprise, but also used as a subsystem of enterprise ERP system. With the development of network technology, QoS routing algorithm based on MPLS traffic engineering becomes the focus of the information industry. An improved algorithm is proposed based on the known algorithms. For optional paths of each ingress-egress pair, the algorithm uses a learning mechanism, combines offline and online routing, and chooses the LSP in terms of the average expectation load and the residual bandwidth by calculating the maximum flow of network, simultaneously considers other QoS parameters. The simulation results indicate that it is an efficient and quick routing algorithm.

Enterprises are increasingly faced with a big challenge of how to integrate the distributed data and applications effectively. The concept of SOA solves the traditional problem of tight coupling and Web services are the major technology for implementing SOA. However, in recent years, another trend is that REST has increasingly gained much attention and been widely used for Web services development. OMG's model-driven architecture (MDA) has emerged as a new approach for the development of software. For this, the query/view/transformation (QVT) standard plays a central role, since it allows for the specification of model transformations. Nevertheless, until now, QVT-tool support in general and debugging support in particular in the context of MDA are rather limited, supposable being a reason, that the adoption of QVT in practice has not yet been achieved. We therefore propose graphical debugging for the QVT Relations language based on TROPIC - a model transformation approach on the basis of coloured Petri nets. By enabling debugging on the TROPIC level, one gains several advantages when developing transformations. Firstly, debugging can take place at a high level of abstraction. Secondly, it serves for explicating the operational semantics of a transformation. Thirdly, it provides a homogenous representation of all transformation artifacts. As a first step towards QVT debugging, this paper aims at a deeper understanding of the operational semantics of QVT, classifying common pitfalls by using QVT and discussing how they may be identified at the TROPIC level.
