Inter-firm knowledge sharing within industrial cluster causes the formation, development and evolution of industrial cluster. This paper analyzes the evolution of industrial cluster by means of evolutionary game theory from the perspective of knowledge sharing. It argues that enterprises in the industrial cluster should learn more, enlarge knowledge stores and enhance the capability of knowledge assimilation. In the mean time, government departments concerned and intermediaries should create a favorable environment for the inter-firm knowledge sharing within industrial cluster and arouse enterprises' initiatives.

This research presents a method of building Thai WordNet using an automatic bi-directional translation system with two EnglishThai dictionaries, LEXiTRON and Thiengburanathum Dictionary. The former was compiled using a corpus-based approach, whilst the latter was compiled on the basis of the author's expertise. The results show that using LEXiTRON gives an F-measure of 50.36 for synset aspect, and 25.01 for word aspect, while using the Thiengburanathum Dictionary results in F-measure of 64.51 for synset aspect and 34.54 for word aspect. Furthermore, for a combination of two dictionaries, the F-measure increases to 67.16 for synset aspect and 36.27 for word aspect.

The craft of software understanding and verification can benefit from technologies that enable evolution toward a true engineering discipline. In current practice, software developers lack practical means to determine the full functional behavior of programs under development, and even the most thorough testing can provide only partial knowledge of behaviors. Thus, an effective technology for revealing software behaviors could have a positive impact on software understanding. This paper describes the emerging technology of function extraction (FX) for computing the functional behavior of programs and how the knowledge of program behavior can be used in user-directed program exploration for understanding and verification. We explore how the use of FX technologies can transform methods for functional verification of software. Several examples are presented illustrating the FXplorer interface and its use in exploring the behavior of programs, a capability that, without function extraction technology, has not been possible until now.

Interface is important for software modules, e.g., classes, components and services. Most current description approaches focus only on each method signatures of the target interface, while constraint on interface, e.g. temporal sequence of the invocation is less considered so far. This paper proposes an intuitive approach for specifying interface constraint, especially the temporal constraints on different methods of the interface. As a directed graph, the proposed approach is intuitive and powerful. Notations of relationships are introduced, followed by some examples. One algorithm that can translate the high level intuitive graph to low level FSA is presented.

A code validation tool for RISC microcontrollers, at the level of machine instruction stream is described. This purports to a methodological approach to achieve software debugging and code validation, where the source code might be created in assembly language or a high level language. The appropriateness of instructions as well as its sequence in a program is validated with the help of rules governing the occurrence of illegal instructions and code sequences for executing the CPU and integrated peripheral functions. This is achieved through the static analysis of machine codes by applying the rules formulated. This validation tool can be integrated to the system development environment for the detection of such errors without introducing any software or run time overhead in the resulting code. A prototype based on PIC 16F87X microcontrollers is developed. The algorithm can encompass a wide range of RISC processors, once appropriate rules are available for such processors.

With the rapid development of P2P, there are some new applications such as P2PSIP and intercommunication of heterogeneous DHTs (Distributed Hash Table). In those scenarios, there need some nodes acting as proxies and gateways. Such nodes as proxies or gateways in P2P overlays were called Supernodes. The problem of which nodes would be the supernode s was answered by SN election. To choose an eligible supernode in P2P overlay is time-consumed and it's a NP-hard problem. To decrease the message complexity and to accelerate the election speed, the district or area partitioning model was brought forth. In this paper, the authors mainly analyzed four kinds of district partitioning models, they were models based upon geographical information, IP structure, DHT characteristics and pre-placed supernode.

In order to solve the problem of "information overflow" in e-learning, an algorithm based on Hebbian learning law is proposed for constructing self-organized communities which can automatically group e-learners according to their learning interests. Unlike filtering methods,this algorithm takes into consideration of the distributed open environment of e-learning. This paper designed a peer-to-peer architecture and applied Hebbian learning law in constructing e-learner communities, avoiding the difficulty in calculating user similarity. Compared with traditional Hebbian learning based algorithm, this algorithm uses dynamic thresholds to address the problem of unilateral trust weight adjustment in extreme cases, and it also improves the trust weight adaptation and neighbor adjustment policies. Experimental results show that this algorithm achieves faster community construction speed and better scalability and stability.

The use of computers in education has greatly increased during the last two decades. At the same time, technology advances have opened new spaces and possibilities for the field of computer-based edutainment-education in the form of entertainment - where learners can achieve their learning goals while having fun. Games on mobile phones have become a significant part of the contemporary culture experienced by young people. Research indicates the potential of mobile games to encourage learning in young adults. The 3-year EC-supported project mGBL (mobile game-based learning) had the objective to prototype a platform for the development and deployment of mobile learning and guidance games, able to support the learning process and the support of decision making in critical situations not only in a cognitive but also in an emotional way. This paper describes key issues emerged in development phase of the Mogabal game engine within mGBL framework in both technical and pedagogical aspects, showing technologies, strategies and methodology adopted. A number of game prototypes based on such engine were devised and some were tested during the project user-trials. These games prototypes demonstrate the capabilities of the devised engine to cover a wide range of different games types and educational contents.

This paper presents a simple method that computes test case coverage information from information on what files were updated to fix a fault found by the test case. It uses a cache to monitor fault-prone files and recommends test cases to rerun to cover updated files. We present an evaluation of the method during two months of development of a large, industrial, embedded, real-time software system. Our results show that the method is effective, reaching weekly cache hit rates in the range 50-80%.
