With the development of communication technology,wireless video transmission is welcomed in wider ***,the quality of received video is still *** may be caused by wireless channel fading,Doppler phenomenon,limited bandwidth,Internet congestion,which may lead to bit errors and packet *** order to deal with bit errors and packet loss in the transmission and enhance the received video quality,a robust error resilience scheme of video transmission over wireless networks,which is based on Rate Compatible Punctured Convolutional(RCPC)and Forward Error Correction(FEC),is proposed in this *** the scheme,the RTCP feedback information to the sending end which carries bit error rate,network packet loss rate and transmission delay,is used to adjust the RCPC and FEC parity *** the same time the packet video data is packed into the same *** experiment shows that this scheme can provide more satisfied video playback quality in 3G wireless networks with different bit error rate and packet loss rate,and also can improve overall network utilization efficiency,end to end delay,and smaller packet loss rate.

In a dynamic e-Business environment, constructing Virtual Society (VS) by creating Service cooperation has become the mainstream approach for reforming the development of application software systems. And e-contract is one of the important ways to support autonomic service cooperation. However, because of the inherent non-controllability of agents across different management domains, this approach has been confronted with the challenge of so-called "trust" crisis. This crisis has worried the research of autonomic computing and multi-agent systems for a long time. At the same time, with the growing popularity of autonomic service oriented cooperation, a general QoS support for services will play an important role for the success of this emerging technology. Unfortunately, current autonomic service cooperation does not offer comprehensive QoS support. In this paper, based on the previous work, we present a extended model for Trusted and Autonomic Service Cooperation integrated with QoS definition and management process, called TASC, which does not only eliminate the dilemma that the requirements of "Autonomy" and "Trust" conflict with each other, but also enable the QoS integration in Web services. It measures and monitors the QoS parameters, checks the agreed-upon service levels, and reports violations to the authorized parties involved in the autonomic service cooperation management process.

This paper studies two popular examples of high-speed Printed Circuit Board (PCB), portable embedded devices and industrial computers, through measurement of 10-m semi-anechoic chamber in ChungHwa Telecom Labs, and proposes some simple but practical remedies to reduce their Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). In the first example, EMI of portable embedded devices can be simply prevented by an iron case rather than an aluminum alloy case. Besides, this paper develops iron shielding sheets to further suppress EMI of critical on-board ICs. The measurement result verifies the suppression effect of iron shielding sheets is much better than that of rubber microwave absorbing patches. In the second example, EMI of industrial computers can be effectively blocked by the well-made chassis. In addition, the shunt capacitor can further suppress dominant EMI from the pulse regenerator, but its suppression effect at some spectrum is limited. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes and verifies the copper foil is the best alternate.

A famous wormhole-switched routing algorithm for mesh interconnection network called f-cube3 uses three virtual channels to pass faulty blocks, while only one virtual channel is used when a message does not encounter by fault. Routing with faults usually uses virtual channels to conquer faulty regions. One of the key issues in the design of Network-on-Chips (NoC) is the development of a well-organized communication system to provide high throughput interconnection network. We have evaluated if-cube3 - a fault-tolerant routing algorithm based on f-cube3 - for increasing the throughput of the network. Moreover, simulation of both f-cube3 and if-cube3 algorithm for the same conditions presented. Modifications of the use of virtual channels per each physical link without adding new extra virtual channel illustrated by results obtained from simulation. As the simulation results show, if-cube3 has a higher performance than f-cube3. The results also show that if-cube3 has less exist packets in network with improved performance at high traffic load in Network-on-Chip.

In the current implementation of SOA using Web services, where different services can provide the same functionality for consumers, QoSs of these services are essential in determining the most suitable services for consumers. Although QoS for web services has attracted wide attention in the literature for the past few years, most of the current efforts did not consider the multi-stakeholders nature of web services. Unlike traditional software paradigms, SOA applications owned, developed, and/or used by different stakeholders. Those stakeholders are provider, consumer,developer, and broker. As a result, non-functional requirements are different from one stakeholder to *** paper presents a quality model that classifies nonfunctional characteristics based on the different stakeholders' requirements. In the discussion of the stakeholders we focus on developer, provider, and consumer. The model presents also some metrics for these characteristics. We argue that this model gives better view for SOA and Web services quality requirements from different perspectives.

With more analysis on animal's perceptive system and the rapid development of bionic sensors, it is possible to study intelligence perceptron based on artificial life. The main research of perceptron in artificial life is to synthesize local and incomplete measurement providing by some homogeneous or heterogeneous sensors which distributing in different areas and states, and then give a relatively uniform sense description of the environment. Because one of the important characters of human sense is active sensing, the study of humanized perceptron is not the simple information fusion, and the sense is not a one-way perception but a cycling one, that is to say, the sense may be process between identification and action. Attention mechanism decides which organ is active, and at the same time, other relative sensors cooperating with this active organ work together actively, so the target will be recognized correctly. In this paper, the concept of humanized perceptron is defined and the function architecture of humanized perceptron is established.

As actuarial analysis and evaluation is a time-consuming, complex and error-prone process, it can be improved or enhanced considerably by automated reasoning. Efforts to reduce the inaccuracy and incorrectness of analyses and to enhance the confidence levels of actuarial analysis have led to the development of an intelligent decision support system called ActuaExpert, which assists, not replaces, actuaries. ActuaExpert assumes the role of a hypothetical actuary capable of assessing risks, creating policies that minimize risk and its financial impacts on companies, and maximizing the profits for insurance companies. It has a knowledge base containing the expertise of statistics, finance, and business, and a case base of past episodes and consequences of decisions. By combining knowledge-based problem solving with case-based reasoning, ActuaExpert demonstrates forms of intelligent behavior not yet observed in traditional decision support systems and expert systems.

This paper presents an attempt towards the development of a hand gesture-based interface for intelligent home applications using body sensor networks (BSNs). The system being developed consists of four main components namely BSN sensor gloves as the input devices, a software prototype for facilitating mappings of sensory signals onto different commands, a model for automatic gesture recognition and a relay-board for demonstrating device control output. Our current results include the first version of software prototype and real-time recognition of simple gesture commands from signals acquired using the BSN-based flex-sensor glove.

Genetic differences have been shown to contribute to gene expression variability. A complete evaluation of the associations between a whole genome scan with 550 k Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) and 54 k detectable expression levels (probesets) was performed on 176 human peripheral blood samples. The results are presented along with visualizations that reveal cis and trans gene expression regulatory effects. The algorithmic approach followed utilized a distributed computational system. The analysis was performed using a linear regression adjusting for all relevant covariates. Permutation testing on a random subset of the top results provided an indication of the significance levels adjusted for multiple testing and the non independence of SNPs due to linkage disequilibrium. The database of the produced results can be used as a resource to assess the functional impact of genetic polymorphisms to gene expression regulation. This resource is applicable across all disease areas.
