With the rapid development of information technology, huge data is accumulated. A vast amount of such data appears as short messages such as emails in companies or conversations in open chatting rooms. It is useful to find the themes or exceptional information from the messages by clustering the short documents based on density. However, traditional vector space model based text clustering algorithms can not get acceptable accuracy because the key words appear at low frequency. On the other hand, traditional text clustering algorithms become very inefficient or even unavailable when processing massive data at TB level. In this paper a density-based short message clustering algorithm using domain ontology based is presented. This algorithm uses domain ontology to calculate the semantic similarity between short messages which improves the Parallel method is also used to get better scalability.

Graphics processing unit (GPU) has evolved into a highly parallel, multithreaded, many-core processor with tremendous computational capability. The introduction of compute unified device architecture (CUDA) simplifies the software development on GPU and allows direct access to GPU resources. It's an effective way to improve the hashing performance in high-speed network and storage systems by using GPU as a coprocessor of CPU to execute the hash encryption algorithm. This paper puts forward a CUDA-based design of the MD5 hash algorithm on GPU according to the specific application needs and presents its implementation as well as its comprehensive optimization in terms of the characteristics of GPU and CUDA.

Multiple cooperating robots hold the promise of improved performance and increased fault tolerance for large-scale problems such as planetary survey and habitat construction. Multi-robot coordination, however, is a complex problem. The problem is cast in the framework of multi-robot dynamic task allocation and then two methods are described that follow general guidelines for task allocation strategies. In the first method, four distinct task allocation strategies are considered using a simulated grid world. The data from the simulations show that there is no single strategy that produces best performance in all cases, and that the best task allocation strategy changes as a function of the noise in the system. This result is significant, and shows the need for further investigation of task allocation strategies. In the second method, a multi-criteria assessment model capable of evaluating the suitability of individual robots is considered for a specified task according to their capabilities, and existing tasks. Candidates are ranked based on their suitability scores to support administrators in selecting appropriate robots to perform the tasks. The proposed assessment models overcome the lack of role-based task assignment in workflow management systems.

Both Robots and Personal computers established new markets about 30 years ago and were enabling factors in Automation and Information technology. However, while you can see Personal computers in almost every home nowadays, the domain of Robots in general still is mostly restricted to industrial automation. Due to the physical impact of robots, a safe design is essential, which most robots still lack of and therefore prevent their application for personal use, although a slow change can be noticed by the introduction of dedicated robots for specific tasks, which can be classified as service robots. Moreover, as more and more robots are designed as service robots, their developers face the challenge of reducing the machines' complexity and providing smart user interface methods. Ideally the robot would be able to cooperate with a human, just like another human would.

This paper proposes a fusion model that merges the context-aware multimodal information of JADE (Java agent development framework). The context-aware multimodal information system is developed from the multi-heterogeneous context sensing devices. This multimodal not only gathers multidimensional data that aims to recognize and analyze the collected emotion information, but also emotion manages the context-aware information. According to the collections of users use remote control usages during watching TV and the face recognition technology, we developed a context-aware multimodal information system to recognize emotions. The emotion information is reasoned from the action data of remote control usages that combines with the emotion information gathered from the face recognition. These two information fuses with the feedback mechanism of real emotion to acquire the information of personal emotion representation. This fusion model of context-aware multimodal information provides personal emotion information and learning mechanism to reason the information from context aware ubiquitous environment applied on personal emotion prediction.

In this paper we present a novel methodology for detection and tracking of facial features like eyes, nose and mouth in image sequences. The proposed methodology is intended to support natural interaction with autonomously navigating robots that guide visitors in museums and exhibition centers and, more specifically, to provide input for the analysis of facial expressions that humans utilize while engaged in various conversational states. For face and facial feature region detection and tracking, we propose a methodology that combines appearance-based and feature-based methods for recognition and tracking, respectively. For the stage of face tracking the introduced method is based on least squares matching (LSM), a matching technique able to model effectively radiometric and geometric differences between image patches in different images. Thus, compared with previous research, the LSM approach can overcome the problems of variable scene illumination and head in-plane rotation. Another significant characteristic of the proposed approach is that tracking is performed on the image plane only wherever laser range information suggests so. The increased computational efficiency meets the real time demands of human-robot interaction applications and hence facilitates the development of relevant systems.

Routing is an important and computationally intensive step in the VLSI physical design cycle. It is the process of interconnecting the cells that have been assigned positions as a solution of the placement problem. Global routing is a design action that precedes local routing and follows placement. Global routing decides about the distribution of the interconnections across the available routing channels. Then, all required connections can be established by solving the local routing problem in each channel separately. The combination of evolutionary algorithms with local search is named ldquoMemetic Algorithmsrdquo. These methods are inspired by models of natural systems that combine the evolutionary adaptation of a population with individual learning within the lifetimes of its members. In the context of heuristic optimization, a meme is taken to represent a learning or development strategy. Thus a memetic model of adaptation exhibits the plasticity of individuals that a strictly genetic model fails to capture. This paper deals with application of memetic algorithms to solve the problem of global routing. More particularly the emphasis is on the topics of wire length minimization and reduction of channel capacitances, and congestion estimation which are of utmost priority in any global routing scenario.

Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) is gaining momentum as the protocol of choice for wireless vehicle safety applications by automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and road operators. DSRC is a low latency and reliable vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication protocol. A wide range of its applications have been conceptualized to support safety, mobility and convenience, including: cooperative collision avoidance, travel information, and electronic payment. Nulls in the communication signal strength have been reported in several recent government sponsored, private, and academia research studies but have not been analyzed sufficiently to predict their occurrence. In this paper we derive an expression for predicting the null locations using an interference model based on two-ray ground reflection. We demonstrate the improvement in accuracy over existing analytical accounts by applying the derived expression to the experimental data we collected as well as to data found in literature.

Data warehouses (DWs) manage crucial information for enterprises which must be protected from unauthorized accesses. The question of which security issues are present in all stages of the DW design is therefore of great importance when considering these security constraints in design decisions. We have used the model driven architecture (MDA) approach to propose an MDA architecture with which to develop secure DWs, which defines secure models at different abstraction levels along with their automatic transformation between models. Our approach considers a multidimensional path towards on-line analytical processing (OLAP) tools, but did not, until now, support the transformation of complex security rules from conceptual models. After carrying out a modification of our conceptual metamodel to support a better representation of security rules and to define several sets of transformation rules, this paper shows how to transform these security rules through an example.

Prevailing approaches to analyze embedded software performance either require the deployment of the software on the embedded target, which can be tedious and may be impossible in an early development phase, or rely on simulation, which can be extremely slow. We promote cross-profiling as an alternative approach, which is particularly well suited for embedded Java processors. The embedded software is profiled in any standard Java Virtual Machine in a host environment, but the generated cross-profile estimates the execution time on the target. We implemented our approach in the customizable cross-profiler CProf, which generates calling-context cross-profiles. Each calling-context stores dynamic metrics, such as the estimated CPU cycle consumption on the target. We visualize the generated calling-context cross-profiles as ring charts, where callee methods are represented in segments surrounding the caller's segment. As the size of each segment corresponds to the relative CPU consumption of the corresponding calling-context, the visualization eases the location of performance bottlenecks in embedded Java software, revealing hot methods, as well as their callers and callees, at one glance.
