We present an accelerated depth peeling algorithm for order-independent transparency rendering on graphics *** traditional depth peeling which only peels one layer of transparent pixels per rendering pass,our algorithm peels multiple layers simultaneously per rendering *** acceleration is achieved via our fragment program which sorts and writes multiple fragment colors and depths via MRT.A notable feature of our algorithm is that it is robust against the unreliable parallel read-after-write behavior in current graphics hardware,guaranteeing correct transparency *** ordinary scenes rendered under RGBA8 color precision,we achieve up to 8× speed-up over conventional depth peeling with current generation graphics *** algorithm is simple to implement on current GPU without any hardware *** addition,it does not require applications to perform any pre-sorting of transparent geometry.

The main object of the work is to develop embedded system for *** this venture,the Real Time Multimedia System is designed to acquire the video streaming through different video servers over Internet Protocol(TCP/IP-Ethernet) .In this work the normal TV is used and converted to IPTV through the development of multimedia processor based Real Time *** video streaming software are also used on Video Server which transmits video over TCP/IP and the video is displayed using DM642 media processor based embedded *** Bluetooth technology is used to change the channel from any Bluetooth enabled mobile *** this purpose the Bluetooth HCI controller based system is also *** user can select the channel using his Bluetooth enabled mobile phone and sends the request to the multimedia processor which transmits the request to the Video Server and displays the desired *** acquired video is converted into IP packets and transmitted to the media processor through Ethernet connection.

Two wireless implantable microsystems; one for blood pressure sensing and one for EKG and core body temperature sensing; are developed for untethered genetically engineered mice real-time monitoring. A flat silicone blood pressure sensing cuff and a low power ASIC are employed to form a novel wireless less-invasive blood pressure monitoring microsystem, which demonstrates a packaged system weight of 130 mg representing at least ten times mass reduction compared to any commercially available implantable blood pressure sensing technology. The system is powered by an adaptively controlled external RF energy source at 4 MHz to ensure a stable on-chip 2V supply with 150 μA current load from the microsystem, and achieves a sensing resolution of 0.8 mmHg. A packaged EKG and core body temperature sensing microsystem exhibits a total size of 9 mm × 7 mm × 3 mm with a weight of 400 mg including a pair of stainless steel EKG electrodes and demonstrates wireless in vivo EKG and body temperature sensing capability under the same adaptive RF powering condition. On-going research effort is devoted to realize a standalone wireless implantable three-channel (blood pressure, EKG, and core body temperature) bio-sensing microsystem.

Workflow management promises a new solution to an ancient problem: monitoring, controlling and supporting business processes. What is new about workflow management is the explicit representation of the business process logic. Traditional workflow management models have obvious shortcomings in describing complex workflows. Such complexity is due not only to the complicated dependencies among tasks, but also to the hierarchical property of business process. In this paper, we apply colored Petri nets to model task interfaces and composite task versions. We investigates how to analyze colored Petri nets and modified when a transition fires. A CPN model of a Kerberos protocol is an executable model representing the states of the system and the transitions that can cause the Kerberos protocol to change state. Using CPN tools, it is possible to investigate the behavior of the modeled Kerberos protocol using simulation, to verify properties by means of state space methods and model checking, and to conduct simulation-based performance analysis.

This paper introduces a systematic approach to design and realize a two-legged robot. Design and system configuration of a two legged robot are explained in detail. development process of the robot has been divided in to three phases, (1) design (2) verification and (3) realization, while robot's architecture consists of three subsystems, (1) mechanical subsystem (2) electronics subsystem and (3) software subsystem. Each of these subsystem is explained in detail. During design phase mechanical and electronic subsystems of the robot have been designed, design of mechanical subsystem focuses on identifying actuation mechanism and material to be used for links, stepper motors have been chosen as actuators to reduce control mechanism complexity. Design of electronics subsystem focuses on identifying appropriate mechanism to control each actuator and providing interface to software subsystem, for controlling each stepper motor, controller A-3982 from Allegro Microsystems while to control each stepper motor controller, microcontroller AT89S52 from Atmel has been selected. In verification phase by using simulator(part of software subsystem) each subsystem has been verified for desired requirements and performance. From simulation results it is confirmed that robot will be able to walk. Realization of the physical robot is under progress.

In this paper some design considerations and process development for fabricating RF MEMS switches on microwave laminate printed circuit boards (PCBs) are presented. PCB MEMS is a new technology, in which RF MEMS devices can be fabricated on any substrate, and can be monolithically integrated with other elements on the same substrate offering adaptability and reconfigurbility features to the communication systems. This work describes an alternative technique to improve manufacturing for fabrication of RF-MEMS switches on PCB. The integrated process uses metal as part of the sacrificial layer and the isotropic profile (undercut) of the wet etching to help on the bridge release. The mechanical characteristic and theory of operation of capacitive membrane switches is detailed. Pull-in voltage is in the range of 30-40 V. In the OFF state (up-position), the insertion loss is less than 0.3-0.4 dB up to 6 GHz. In the ON state (down-position), the isolation value is about 16 dB at 6 GHz and increases to 34 dB at 18 GHz.

Internet is vulnerable to overloading caused by flash crowds and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. Recently voice over IP (VoIP), an Internet-based service is experiencing a phenomenal growth. As its deployment spreads, VoIP systems are likely to become attack targets, of which flooding lists high, perhaps due to its simplicity and the abundance of tool support. The DDoS attacks and flash crowds degrade the performance of call processing server to the point where it becomes sluggish and even unresponsive. The network administrator's dilemma is that how to give a differential treatment to malicious and legitimate call requests that differ in intent, but not in content. In this paper, we show that DDoS attacks and flash crowds, while similar in the message structure and the number of INVITEs they generate, exhibit different traffic patterns and hence making them distinguishable. We also introduce a new entropy-based approach to detect those DDoS attacks that masquerade as flash crowds. Our approach is based on an observation that the creation of malicious sessions has certain effects on entropy of the call durations; hence, a change in the entropy provides an important clue for mimicry attack detection. As an overloading preventive measure, we exploit the SIP protocol's inbuilt reliability mechanism and exponential backoff timer values to regulate and distinguish legitimates call requests from the spoofed ones.

This paper presents the design and development of a new Quality Control (QC) system for immunology/serology tests at medical laboratories. The developed QC system which is based on client-server a architecture provides a scalable architecture for future integration of other categories of medical laboratory tests. The architecture and functional features of the proposed QC system are presented along with the workflow process and UML design models of the key QC and management processes. More than 15 graphical user interface (GUI) forms are designed and implemented to enter/display various types of information. Functionality of each form and its interactivity with the system database and operator is tested along with its interaction with other forms. Test results showed that the developed QC fulfills all the functional requirements and provides accurate QC reports. A wide spectrum of immunology/serology tests is performed and the obtained results are found in correlation with the QC statuses assessed manually by specialists. This not only confirms validity of the implemented QC process, but delivers higher confidence in lab-testing procedures, and allows for more reliable results.

Copy number change is an important form of structural variation in human genomes. Somatic copy number alterations can cause the acquisition of oncogenes and loss of tumor suppressor genes in tumorigenesis. Recent development of SNP array technology facilitates studies on copy number changes in a genome-wide scale with high resolution. However, tumor samples often consist of mixed cancer and normal cells. Such tissue heterogeneity poses as a serious hurdle to analyzing copy number changes and could confound subsequent marker identification and diagnostic classification rooted in specific cells. We report here a statistically-principled in silico approach to accurately estimate genomic deletions and normal tissue contamination, and accordingly recover the true copy number profile in cancer cells. We tested the proposed method on three simulation and one real datasets and obtained highly promising results validated by the ground truth and figure of merit. We expect this newly developed method to be a useful tool in routine copy number analysis of heterogeneous tissues.

development of routing protocols for Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) has become an important field of research because of the promising applications provided by the MANETs. In a TDMA based MANET, routing algorithms should meet the QoS constraints like bandwidth in addition to finding the shortest path. Most of the existing protocols concentrate only on finding the shortest path from source to destination. The research work described in this paper is done with an aim to satisfy the QoS requirements by maximizing the path bandwidth along the path found between the source and destination. The Efficient GA Approach by Pi-Rong Sheu et al. uses Genetic Algorithm to solve the problem of finding the path with maximum bandwidth. The proposed algorithm uses superior fitness function and Genetic Algorithm operators along with parallelization to solve the same problem. The results show that a careful selection of initial population and an improved fitness function actually decreases the number of generations required to reach a much better solution with intended QoS requirements, when compared to other existing heuristics.
