This paper presents a hand held location awareness device that enables police officers in the field to receive or send messages on the location of activities and events, and reach the destination quickly with the help of a detailed map. The design and development of the personal location awareness system is professionally and practically oriented. A simple but practical and user-friendly solution has been designed and implemented for the application environment of most Chinese cities. The system distinguishes itself from other vehicle carried GPS services for police in the following characteristics. First, a short message is the major communication medium. It can describe the dispatchment task clearly and quickly. Any photo taken at a scene can be sent back to the dispatch center as soon as the patrolmen arrive. The user needs no time to take notes and has no chance to misunderstand a command Second, a special software tool is developed to make a multi scale tiled image map for a hand held device, and a special map file format is established. By comparing to vector map, it is much easier to put into practice in a location based services (LBS) limited area. With the detailed maps of a labeled site, the basic requirement of location awareness can be met. Third, a text based message management system with restricted database operations is developed, which needs no DBMS in resident memory and makes all the application software run smoothly. The professional application of LBS needs three services. They are short message service of a public wireless communication system, GPS civil signal, and the dispatch message from police dispatch center with the help of a GIS system. The popularization of GPS embedded cell phone makes this kind of personal location aware application more cost effective and affordable for police bureaus. The proposed system has been put into practical use in a few municipal public security bureaus in China.

The simulative electro-hydraulic servo system has been widely used for rectifying system in steel industry. But the simulative electro-hydraulic servo system has the shortcoming of high cost, poor anti-pollution, high request of use and maintenance, frequent troubles and the instable working state, which could affect the product quality of strip steel and the normal production of factory. From the 1980s, the study on the digital valve instead of the servo valve and the real-time control by the computer in the electro-hydraulic control system has started. Because the study on digital valve makes little progress worldwide, it has not formed the commercial products yet at present. Thus the popularization and application for digital electro-hydraulic control system is limited. An all-digital strip steel rectifying electro-hydraulic control system successfully used in the field in China for strip steel rectifying will be introduced in this paper. This system is a complete-feedback control system, which adopts the high speed on-off ball valve as its digital valve, PWM signals as the input of digital valve, photoelectric sensor as its element for detection and feedback and PLC controller as its control device. From the theoretical analysis and field operation results of the system, it is shown that this system has not only good stability, high position precision, fast response, satisfying the performance requirement of strip steel rectifying , but also low cost, strong ability of anti-pollution and high reliability, so this system will have broad popularization value and application prospect.

Rapid development of mobile communications business leads to greater focus on effective mobile DRM (digital right management) for providing improved content protection. To be able to guarantee DRM policies enforcement, the trusted mobile working environment based on a tamperresistant hardware module is needed. In this paper, firstly, a construction of the trusted mobile computing based on TPM/TPCM is introduced. Thereafter, an example of DRM authentication scheme in user domain integrated with trusted mobile platform is discussed. Based on the new characters provided by trusted computing platform, the authentication scheme can be simplified, which is safe enough to increase the security of latest mobile DRM framework and promote its interoperability and compatibility.

The technology of 3D computer modeling has been widely used in reservoir fine description, especially in the development phase. It's an effective way to enhanced oil recovery and reduce water cut. This paper presents an example of the application 3D modeling to the series of deep strata in Xiaermen Oilfield, Henan, China. In this paper, the geological, geophysical, petrophysical and engineering informations are integrated then a comprehensive reservoir model is built that can enhance reservoir management planning. First, a 3D structural model is built which consists of the faults model and the horizon model, then based on the structural model a 3D stochastic microfacies model of each reservoir zone through the analysis and integration of core and log data from 15 wells in the study area. Second, the physical property data is analysed among the microfacies and builds the petrophysical model which interpolation method is controlled by the distribution of the microfacies.

The objective of the research was to develop a hardware called electronic control unit (ECU) which is the most important for the development of electric utility robot vehicle. The goal of developing an electronic robot vehicle is to use in an orchard application. The research used Gator Electric Utility Vehicle as a platform manufactured by Deere and Company. The vehicle electric motor is powered by 48-VDC (Volt direct-current) with 8 batteries (6-Volt each battery). The ECU will be used as a vehicle controller to control different functions of the electronic robot vehicle. The controller can control steering, vehicle movement (forward, backward, and neutral), vehicle speed, and emergency stop (manual and remote control switch). In order to develop a controller for any robot vehicle, an appropriate consideration of controller specifications is necessary. The vehicle controller used PIC18F458 as its microchip device which has a program memory of 32 kbytes, data memory of 1536 bytes in SRAM (static random access memory) and 256 bytes in EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory) with 33 pins of I/O and 8 channels of A/D in 10 bits. To control the vehicle movement (forward, backward, and neutral) and emergency stop, relays (5-Volt) were included to the vehicle ECU to command the vehilce by switching on and off the vehicle electric motor. To control the vehicle steering system and speed, a CAN (control-area-network) controller interface was included in the vehicle ECU to send and receive command data from the vehicle computer. And to obtain a feedback signal from the sensors attached to the vehilce, A/D (analog to digital) converter was included to the vehicle ECU. The vehilce controller was tested and evaluated by running the vehilce autonomously and sends commands from the vehilce computer to the controller. The vehilce ECU could control accurately the vehicle steering, movement, speed and emergency stop.
