computer science students must be able to support the global software development phenomena;therefore they should enhance their teamwork, communication, negotiation, leadership and collaboration skills. It pushes the educational institutions to rethink the way in which they are transferring the soft skills, e.g. collaboration capabilities, to the new software engineers. Advances in developing platforms, wideband communications, global markets, technological trends and outsourcing promote the conception of a global software engineering. Trying to help address this issue, this paper describes the results of two experiences where a CODILA(Collaborative and Distributed Learning Activity) was used to solve a software engineering problem in a distributed way. These experiences involved students and instructors of eight Latin American universities. We have measured the development of collaboration skills and satisfaction level of computer science students participating in these distributed collaborative practices, and the obtained results are highly encouraging.

Electronic sealed-bid auctions are a method to establish the price of goods through the internet while keeping the bids secret during the bidding phase. In this paper, our concern is incoercibility of an auction protocol. This paper gives the first security model of incoercible sealed-bid auctions. By using undeniable signatures and deniable encryptions as building blocks, an efficient sealed-bid auction protocol with incoercibility is also proposed. Furthermore, our construction is proven to be secure in the random oracle model.

With the wide use of multimedia applications, people improve the demand of high speed traffics increasingly. However, when the network is congested, single path route can not satisfy the end-to-end bandwidth requirement, thus limited bandwidth resources can not be used efficiently. In this paper, we therefore propose a bandwidth-guaranteed multi-path routing, which can find multiple node-disjoint paths between source and destination and perform the calculation of available bandwidth of found paths by introducing a method of calculating path available bandwidth. Meanwhile, we design a novel metric for path selection so that we select two parallel paths whose aggregated bandwidth can satisfy the connection bandwidth requirement from multiple paths found by the route discovery. Then we distribute data packets into the two parallel paths for concurrent transmission according to each path’s available bandwidth. Simulation results show our proposed Bandwidth-guaranteed Multi-path Routing (BMR) makes significant improvements in terms of the request success ratio compared with the related works.

With the rapid development of network techniques, huge information resources glut the whole web world. Locating useful information effectively from the World Wide Web (WWW) is of wide interest. The huge volume of the return results makes the user only focus on the top results. So the ranking problem becomes the important task for the search systems. Now, so many ranking algorithms were proposed. But the existing search systems just use the relationships or links between user query and web pages in the traditional Web1.0 environment. Now, the success and popularity of social network systems, such as ***, Facebook, etc., have generated many interesting problems to the research community.
