Electrospun gelain/PCL hybrid is a well-liked nanofibrous scaffolding material that have been widely used for biomimetically engineering a variety of ***,dissimilarity of the constituents in their physicochemical attributes would give rise to phase seperation within the fibrous *** study aims to 1) investigate the influence of phase seperation on the morphology,homogeneity,mechanical properties of the electrospun gelatin/PCL fibers,and 2) improve the phase homogeneity of electrospun gelatin/PCL nanofibers by using acetic acid(HAc).Our results showed that addition of a tiny amount(0.1%) of HAc remarkably improved the miscibility of gelatin and PCL which were dissolved in a common solvent of trifluoroethanol,and resulted in the formation of homogeneous and performance -optimized nanofibers upon *** culture experiment intended for skin tissue engineering indicated that thus modified electrospun gelatin/PCL scaffolds supported better cellular responsive behaviour.

In the past few years,the application of nanoparticles has been extended to biomedical and biotechnological fields,such as cancer therapy[1],medical imaging[2],drug carriers[3].In this study, cytotoxicity of three kinds of inorganic nanoparticles to cancer cells and the related mechanism were ***-shaped hydroxyapatite nanoparticles(HAPNs) with an average size of about 20 50 nm were synthesized by the aqueous precipitation *** anti -tumor activity,apoptosis -induction and cellular uptake of HAPNs in human gastric cancer(MGC80-3),cervical cancer(HeLa),hepatic cancer(HepG2) and normal hepatic(L -02) cells,were *** results showed that HAPNs significantly inhibited cell proliferation and induced apoptosis of MGC80-3,HepG2 and HeLa cells,but had no impact on L-02 *** anti-tumor activity and HAPN-induced apoptosis strongly depended on the type of cells,and decreased in the order of MGC80-3 > HepG2 > *** inhibiting action was related to the increased caspase-3 *** cellular internalization and biolocalization of the FITC-labeled HAPN showed that,after 48 h incubation,much more HAPNs were presented inside the nucleus of MGC80-3,suggesting that the nuclear trafficking of the particles into the nucleus may have predominant effect on the HAPN-induced *** nanoparticles (SNPs) within 7~50 nm also showed anti-tumor activity,and the efficacies of the anti-proliferation decreased in the order of 20 nm >7 nm >50 nm,a mitochondrial-dependent apoptosis pathway triggered by ROS -mediated oxidative stress may be involved in the SNPs -induced cytotoxicity in HepG2 *** case of realgar nanoparticles(RNs),the RNs(127 nm ) may provide strong anti-proliferation effect on HepG2 cells and human osteosarcoma cell lines *** conclusion,all three kinds of nanoparticles showed considerable cytotoxicity to human cancer cells tested,but the mechanism involved may be different for various kinds of nanoparticles.
