Background subtraction is a technique for detecting moving objects in video frames. A simple BS process involves building a model of the background and extracting regions of the foreground (moving objects) with the assumptions that the camera remains stationary and there exist no movements in the background. Video object extraction is a critical task in multimedia analysis and editing. Normally, the user provides some hints of foreground and background, and then the target object is extracted from the video sequence. In this paper, we propose a object segmentation system that integrates a clustering model with Markov random field-based contour tracking and graph-cut image segmentation. The contour tracking propagates the shape of the target object, whereas the graph-cut refines the shape and improves the accuracy of video segmentation. Experimental results show that our segmentation system is efficient.

With the development of embedded system, NAND flash memory had become a typical storage medium in embedded system. Recent years, there comes a lot of file systems special for flash memory. YAFFS is specially designed for NAND flash. YAFFS use spare area in every page in NAND flash to maintain the file structure ,therefore when mount a YAFFS file system should scan entire flash memory device to construct the file structure for every single file. In this paper, we propose a new method by simulating a super block which record space usage of flash saved in a special page to overcome the problem. Test result shows that this method can reduce the mount time by maximum of 30.2% than existing method of YAFFS file system.

An accurate model of network topology is the fundamental to design a new network protocol. Recent efforts have been made to produce many topologies for the Internet, but few can give attention the power-law distribution characteristic in each tier of the Internet. We propose Leetar, a new Internet topology generator, which can generate topologies that contains many tiers and each tier match the power-law distribution characteristic. By emulating Leetar in a simulator, it can successfully match the most characteristics of the Internet. Finally, we make comparisons between Leetar and other generators. The simulation results indicate that the topology generated by Leetar is more realistic than others.

With the increase of gray scale and Flat Panel Display (FPD) size, Subspace Bitwise Scanning strategy with high scanning efficiency can replace traditional scanning method to enhance frame frequency. However, as gray scale increasing, the Direct Searching Strategy(DSS) becomes unfeasible to obtain corresponding scanning matrix of the optimization strategy. Therefore, genetic algorithm introduced accelerates searching FPD weights scanning matrix utilizing its parallelism. Finally a scanning matrix of 128 gray scales whose scanning efficiency reaches 99.99% is found out successfully in about 25 hours.
