In a visual driver-assistance system, vehicle detection is one of the major tasks. This paper presents a vehicle detection method based on multifeatures fusion in the images acquired by a fisheye camera. The vehicle detection algorithm can be divided into three main steps: fisheye image calibration, generation of candidates with respect to a vehicle and verification of the candidates. In the fist step, a fisheye image calibration algorithm based on cylinder model is proposed for reproducing virtual scene. The second step determines vehicle candidates using features such as the shadow, symmetry and vertical edge. A precise symmetry axis location approach is introduced by combining edge symmetry axis, grey-level symmetry axis and S-channel symmetry axis in HSV color space. Furthermore, a nighttime vehicle detection algorithm is designed by detecting the headlights. And the last step determines whether the candidate is a vehicle or not by using wavelet decomposition for feature extraction and the Support Vector Machines (SVMS) for classification. Experimental results in different conditions, including sunny, rainy, and nighttime demonstrates that most vehicles can be detected and recognized with a high accuracy and a frame rate of approximately 16 frames per second on a standard PC.

MMP16 stands for 16-bit Didactic Microprogrammed Micro-Processor and consists in a comprehensive learning tool Tor those students of electric engineering and related disciplines that, having studied the basics of digital electronics, need to understand the principles of computer organization prior to study advanced computer architecture. Therefore, MMP16 has been designed as a bridge between the study and use of digital electronic components and a full implementation of a digital microprocessor. MMP16 is a powerful tool not only to depict the basic concepts of a microprocessor layout and operation, but also to instruct advanced concepts such as pipelining. Besides the theoretical approach, MMP16 may be used as a software developing tool, allowing the students to develop and test their own microprograms using the simulation software provided. MMP16 is currently being used in the Universidad Polit(e)cnica de Madrid (UPM) and its deployment is under study in several European and Chinese universities.

Topic Maps are a Semantic Web technology for semantic annotation of resources to enhance the quality of search output. Manual development of topic maps is a difficult and time consuming task. Furthermore, there are many relational databases with valuable data that semantic search methods cannot use them. To solve this problem, this paper proposed a novel automatic approach to generate topic map from database schema. In this method each part of relational database is transformed to a suitable element in topic map data model. The proposed model is implemented and then applied on a relational database. In order to solve the high energy consumption and high environmental pollution problem in high energy consumption enterprises, an energy-saving emission reduction control system based on information technology was presented. Based on studies about the characteristics of the production process, the research contents were discussed detailedly and the implemented architecture was established. Furthermore the key technologies for this system were proposed. These provided a good foundation for further researches on the design, development and implementation of this system.
