Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a talented technology that shows great assurance for a variety of ultramodern applications both for mass public and military. The appearance of sensor networks as one of the central technology trends in the coming decades has posed several exclusive challenges to researchers. The key research spotlight has been on making sensor networks sufficient and helpful. This paper analyzes security requirements in wireless sensor networks and summarizes key issues, attacks and threats that should be solved for achieving the ad hoc security. We also present some secure solutions for achieving the security in wireless sensor networks. © 2012 IEEE.

In DS/CDMA systems, overcoming near/far effects and fading is imperative for satisfactory performance. One way to combat the near/far effect is to use stringent power control, as is done in most of the commercial systems. Another approach is Multi-User Detection (MUD). In addition to mitigating the near/far effect, MUD has the more fundamental potential of raising capacity by canceling Multiple Access Interference (MAI). This paper analyses the convergence behavior and performance of successive interference cancellation (SIC) for CDMA systems. This analysis will be generalized for Parallel Interference Cancellation (PIC) also. In this paper a Hybrid Interference Cancellation (HIC) receiver is designed by combining the successive and Parallel Interference Cancellation algorithms, so that the advantages of both the schemes are utilized effectively. The Hybrid Interference Cancellation scheme results in a simple, faster and reliable receiver. With the help of simulations, it is shown that this hybrid approach outperforms the other Multi-User Detection schemes. © 2012 IEEE.

The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is one of the rudimentary operations in field of digital signal and image processing. Some of the very vital applications of the fast fourier transform include Signal analysis, Sound filtering, Data compression, Partial differential equations, Multiplication of large integers, Image filtering etc. Fast Fourier transform (FFT) is an efficient implementation of the discrete Fourier transform (DFT). This paper concentrates on the development of the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), based on Decimation-In-Time (DIT) domain, Radix-2 algorithm, this paper uses VHDL as a design entity, and their Synthesis by Xilinx Synthesis Tool on Vertex kit has been done. The input of Fast Fourier transform has been given by a PS2 KEYBOARD using a test bench and output has been displayed using the waveforms on the Xilinx Design Suite 12.1. The synthesis results show that the computation for calculating the 32-point Fast Fourier transform is efficient in terms of speed. © 2012 IEEE.

A super heater is a device that is used to convert wet, saturated steam into dry steam. Dry steam at 538oC contains more thermal energy. It increases the overall efficiency of the cycle. The Modelling of the Super heater is done to control the temperature. The paper deals with simulation of control of power plant Super heaters by means of Simulink. The simulation models are developed. These are applied to electrical power generating plants in order to characterize the essential dynamic behaviour of the boiler. The corresponding models are used for the power plant processes. Mathematical model of a super heater is described by sets of nonlinear partial differential equations. Estimation of the Super heater model is done by the System identification tool for design of a steam temperature control system. Data obtained by the measurement compared with simulation results. © 2012 IEEE.

Today is the world of mobile and wireless communication. With the increase of its use there are some problems still under research regarding WIMAX. One of such major problem is the security. Security is always the main issue for any network and with the wireless network it requires more concern. This work is also presented in the same area. We are presenting our work regarding the liability of the data on the arrival side. This data can be a voice or some digital data. Over the network the Active attacks are very common. The proposed approach will provide a reliable packet marking in such network. We are proposing the probabilistic packet marking with the inclusion of four other approaches. i) A Definite Randomize packet marking approach to decide the transmission path. ii) An approach to trace back the path to identify the visited route. iii) A combination of Context based and Dictionary based encoding approach to verify the transmitted data. iv) A Checksum will be applied to vary the alteration of data. The proposed system will result more reliable transmission on WIMAX. © 2012 IEEE.

Thermal conduction related mechanism of the super conducting systems have been very important and interesting area since last two decades. In the present estimation of thermal conductivity of YBa2Cu3O7 superconductors, the automated reasoning approach has been considered by using a mathematical model. This model is dynamic in nature as the parameters involved are inter-related. When derived as a function of temperature changes, rigorous computation is required. Then the estimation of thermal conductivity becomes complex due to the impact of one or more scattering processes involved together. Therefore, the automated reasoning approach has been attempted to discover the knowledge about the thermal conductivity which leads to estimate in a way to match the experimental results and to examine the role of boundary and interference scattering processes involved during the thermal conduction. © 2012 IEEE.

The paper addresses simulation and fabrication technique to optimize a monofliar Helix antenna. A conducting wire in form of screw threads forms a Helix. Helix antenna is used in the field of space sciences due to its high directivity and gain. This paper optimizes the performance of a monofliar Helix antenna which is used as a feed at a frequency of 1420 MHz to study hydrogen line spectrum. This antenna can be used as a feed at frequency of 1420MHz. The theoretical simulations of helix are carried out using Numerical Electromagnetic Code, Version 2 software which is numeric code based on method of moments. Helix antenna is fabricated and optimized to a beam width ranging from 70-80°. Radiation properties, including far-field patterns, gain, axial ratio, VSWR, return loss are computed for frequency of 1420 MHz. All theoretical studies of helix antenna are carried out using NEC-2 (Numerical Electromagnetic Code, Version 2.0) software, which is a numerical code based on the method of moments. The measurements conducted in paper were limited to far-field patterns only. The helix with low fabrication cost makes this antenna very attractive to mobile and satellite communications and aerospace applications. © 2012 IEEE.

TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) is an important morphological characterization tool for Nano-materials. Quite often a microscopy image gets corrupted by noise, which may arise in the process of acquiring the image, or during its transmission, or even during reproduction of the image. Removal of noise from an image is one of the most important tasks in image processing. Depending on the nature of the noise, such as additive or multiplicative type of noise, there are several approaches towards removing noise from an image. Image De-noising improves the quality of images acquired by optical, electro-optical or electronic microscopy. There are conventional methods like inverse filtering, Wiener filtering, Kalman filtering, Algebraic approach, etc., to restore the original object. The research paper aimed at describing & comparing the usage of different types of filters namely Average Filter, Median Filter, and Wiener Filter for filtering amplifier noise present in a TEM Image of Nanomaterials. These filters are designed using a linear filtering Algorithm based on the sources of noise, pixel and the background of Image which depends on the substrate and Material present on TEM sample Grid. © 2012 IEEE.

With the demand of low power applications, running circuits with reduced supply voltage can be of great advantage. Integrated circuit designers start to face a power wall as the most difficult constraints in new technology and circuit development are not triggered by process scaling factors, but by barriers imposed by packaging and cooling. The demand of circuits with reduced power consumption and the very fast growing market of portable electronic equipment are increasing the interest in very low power integrated circuits. Yet, designing very low power integrated circuits requires the reduction of the internal power supply voltages and interconnection parasitic to a minimum, as these are the most important parameters associated to power dissipation. In order to maintain the required performance, lowering the supply voltages implies decreasing transistor's threshold voltages, which brings about a series of problems both in technology and circuit design. The margin for error becomes so small, that any uncertainty in device or circuit parameters may dramatically degrade the performance of actual fabricated chips. As circuit design relies crucially on simulations, the only possibility to overcome these problems is to use highly precise tools to simulate both the fabrication process and the circuit behavior. Realizing that the conventional circuit design tools can not be used much longer to accurately predict circuit behavior an integrated simulation environment where all efforts to achieve maximum accuracy are taken into account. It links together ECAD tools with the accurate simulators found in TCAD frameworks. Active devices are characterized with device simulators and a table-based circuit simulator is used to avoid errors introduced by the fitting parameters procedures in compact models. In literature we have several software reliability growth models developed to monitor the reliability growth during the testing phase of the software development. These models typically use the calendar / execution time and hence are known as continuous time SRGM. However, very little seems to have been done in the literature to develop discrete SRGM. Discrete SRGM uses test cases in computer test runs as a unit of testing. Debugging process is usually imperfect because during testing all software faults are not completely removed as they are difficult to locate or new faults might be introduced. In real software development environment, the number of failures observed need not be same as the number of errors removed. If the number of failures observed is more than the number of faults removed then we have the case of imperfect debugging. Due to the complexity of the software system and the incomplete understanding of the software requirements, specifications and structure, the testing team may not be able to remove the fault perfectly on detection of the failure and the original fault may remain or get replaced by another fault. In this paper, we discuss a discrete software reliability growth model for distributed system considering imperfect debugging that faults are not always corrected/removed when they are detected and fault generation. The proposed model assumes that the software system consists of a finite number of reused and newly developed sub-systems. The reused sub-systems do not involve the effect of severity of the faults on the software reliability growth phenomenon because they stabilize over a period of time i.e. the growth is uniform whereas, the newly developed subsystem does involve. For newly developed component, it is assumed that removal process follows logistic growth curve due to the fact that learning of removal team grows as testing progresses.
