The massive growth of wireless communications and mobile database technologies has transformed the cell phone from being a mere portable phone to becoming an essential medium for contact, information and entertainment. A new trend has been evolved in mobile services which are used to provide user location based experience. It has opened a golden door for location based services. Location-based services denote services provided to mobile users according to their geographic location. There are two registry based architecture, one is centralized and other is decentralized. In centralized architecture, first location of the user is determined and then central registry is looked up for requested services. In decentralized architecture, each of the location is supposed to be associated with a local registry which would be looked up for the requested services. But decentralized architecture is not able to give the information about services available in location other than user's present location. There are a number of real world problems, which gives emphasis on the need of advance knowledge of availability of services present in other location and fulfillment of the total goal. Hence, in order to fulfill the above need, a methodology has been proposed in this paper. It minimizes the user involvement to a great extent in order to avail any online service. In this, composition plan would be created a priory to execution of services and selection of services would be based on QoS parameters in order to minimize the total cost.

Advances in health care technologies are radically impacting the management of chronic diseases by providing a new long-term care option that combines supportive systems for monitoring and assessing the patients' health status with activities of daily living. In this respect, this paper presents a mobile reasoning system which can be used to build knowledge-based Decision Support Systems for monitoring and managing ubiquitously and seamlessly chronic patients, specifically designed and developed as a light-weight solution suitable for resource-limited mobile devices. The system is devised to offer knowledge representation and reasoning facilities able to face and efficiently reason on the continuous and real-time flow of data generated by the sensor devices with the final aim of providing answers within a prescribed time and given constraints on the processing power and resources. © 2012 ICST Institute for Computer Science, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Vehicular Network is one of the most growing type of wireless network. In such system lot work is being done. There are number of issues with Vanet like the security, congestion, intelligent system etc. We are also taking one of such problem of vanet called the intelligent system. In vehicular network the complete automation is always the main problem. While working with vanet the working geographical area selection is also a problem. It can be a city, mountain area etc. We are trying to represent the solution for the same problem. We have proposed the system in a city area. In this system we have selected a 4x4 road area with 2 lane system. Automated traffic lights are present on each turn. We are providing the system to perform a vehicular traffic formation without any collision. Both the vehicle and light system is automated here. We have defined all path routing network in which instead of working on whole network at one time we divide the network in sub stages or sub networks. We defined the destination for each network and for each network the path selection is performed. As we are using a smaller network work there is no problem like broken link or low connectivity level.

Remote access to large meshes is the subject of studies since several years. We propose in this paper a contribution to the problem of remote mesh viewing. We work on triangular meshes. After a study of existing methods of remote viewing, we propose a visualization approach based on a client-server architecture, in which almost all operations are performed on the server. Our approach includes three main steps: a first step of partitioning the original mesh, generating several fragments of the original mesh that can be supported by the supposed smaller Transfer Control Protocol (TCP) window size of the network, a second step called pre-simplification of the mesh partitioned, generating simplified models of fragments at different levels of detail, which aims to accelerate the visualization process when a client(that we also call remote user) requests a visualization of a specific area of interest, the final step involves the actual visualization of an area which interest the client, the latter having the possibility to visualize more accurately the area of interest, and less accurately the areas out of context. In this step, the reconstruction of the object taking into account the connectivity of fragments before simplifying a fragment is necessary.

Four novel ideas are proposed in this paper to integrate an active RFID tag with thermal convection angular accelerometer on an engineering plastic substrate, thus the device is a wireless sensor. The first innovative idea is that this device is without any movable parts, so it is very reliable. The second new idea is that it is made on an engineering plastic substrate, such as polyimide, the thermal conductivity is much lower than silicon, so it can save more power and very useful for mobile operation. The third new idea is that the xenon gas is applied in the chamber for heat convection instead of CO2 used in the traditional thermal convection accelerometer. Carbon dioxide can produce oxidation effect to the heater and thermal sensors, while the inert gas xenon will not. The fourth new idea is the most powerful one to integrate with an active RFID tag on the same substrate, thus it is very useful for mobile operation, and is very easy for usage and fabrication. If one considers sensitivity as the first priority, then choose the floating structure (233°C/(rad/s2)). On the other hand, if the response speed is the requirement, then the non-floating structure is better (70μs). © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

"There is a great deal of difference between an eager man who wants to read a book and a tired man who wants a book to read" - G.K. Chesterton With the colossal collection of traditional and digital including books, journals, audio materials, photographs, e-journals, e-books, web resources and more in recent years, finding an o'nymous item is becoming more and more difficult, resulting in a number of practical conflicts. The accessing and the procurement of the details pertaining to a publication is becoming an ubiquitous problem. Widespread use of wireless technologies paired with the recent advances in the wireless applications, manifests that digital data dissemination could be the key to solve emerging problems. Wireless Sensor Network technology has attracted increased attention and is rapidly emerging due to their enormous application potential in diverse fields. This buoyant field is expected to provide an efficient and cost-effective solution to the effluent problems. This paper proposes a SmArt LibrARY (SALARY) System based on wireless sensor network technology which provides advanced features like automatic update in the addition/deletion of a publication, automated guidance, and item reservation mechanism. The paper describes the overall system architecture of SALARY from hardware to software implementation in the view point of sensor networks. We implemented a full-fledged prototype system for library management to realize the design functionalities and features mentioned. Our preliminary test results show that the performance of this WSN based system can effectively satisfy the needs and requirements of existing integrated library system hassles thereby minimizing the time consumed to find the slot of thou publication, real-time information rendering, and smart reservation mechanisms. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.

After several years of practice, IPv4/IPv 6 transition is proved to be a long term evolution, for the reason that the backbone network, service providers and the large number of users all require a lot of upgrades on both software and hardware. Thus, the IPv4/IPv6 coexistent state is inevitable. This paper mainly discusses mobile Internet transition. To address this issue, the paper chooses DNS64 in stub-resolver mode, one of the transition technologies aiming at mobile equipment.

A Software Defined Radio (SDR) is a radio communication system that has been typically implemented by means of software on a personal computer or embedded computing device. GNU Radio and Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP2) are the software part and hardware of a concrete realization of the SDR In this paper, we seek to explore the advantage of cooperative communication using the GNU Radio and USRP2. We will compare the system performance with and without cooperative communication. Quality of Service (QoS) in terms of Packet Loss Rate (PLR) is investigated and analyzed.

Because the Low-voltage broadband power line communication (BPLC) has the advantages of less investment costs, high construction speed and accessing easily, it becomes a development hotspot of the future cable communication. Compared with the other wired communication mediums, the low-voltage power line channel is more instable and has stronger interferences, which become the fundamental reason to limit the development of low-voltage power line communication. By combining the domestic and international research on low-voltage power line channel, this paper analyzed the multi-path effects and noise characteristics of the low-voltage power line channel. The low-voltage power line channel and noise were modeled and simulated numerically. The specific simulation results were provided, which can be a technical reference for the design of PLC system.
