The effect of two grades of epoxidised natural rubbers (ENR 25 and ENR 50), having 25 and 50 mol of epoxidation, on crosslink density and cure characteristics of silica-filled natural rubber (NR) composites were investigated using a semi-efficient vulcanisation system. The ENRs were incorporated separately into the composites at 5.0, 10.0, 15.0, 20.0 and 25.0 parts per hundred rubber (phr). An investigation was carried out to examine the effects of the ENRs on cure characteristics and crosslink density of the silica-filled NR composites. Results revealed that both ENR 25 and ENR 50 functioned as curatives and compatibilizers. They increased the scorch time, cure time, torque difference and crosslink density. The higher the ENRs loadings;the higher were the scorch, cure times, torque difference and crosslink density. At a similar loading, ENR 50 exhibited a more pronounced curative and compatibilization effects than ENR 25. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Edge-cloud has drawn a significant attention of the IT industries, cloud operators as well as the network service providers and mobile users. To meet the user requirements the service providers have been able to provide various types of services related to the network by applying virtual network functions and deployed cloudlet in Metropolitan Area Network. Our goal is to maximize the number of admitted requests via load balancing by reducing the integrated cost of admissions within a time spare. A problem function is designed to offload set of the tasks in a metropolitan area network, where a particular network related function with a maximum bearable delay is requested by each offloaded task through different network services according to different offloading requests. An algorithm is designed to make a reduced bipartite graph with maximum matching and minimum weight. To save cost we develop an effective prediction algorithm where instances of network functions get created and/or released in different cloudlets considering that the offloading request patterns dynamically changes. Later we have also analyzed that the possible outcome of the proposed algorithm is efficient while distributing the load among the cloudlets into the edge-cloud. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Action recognition has already been a heated research topic recently, which attempts to classify different human actions in videos. The current main-stream methods generally utilize ImageNet-pretrained model as features extractor, however it's not the optimal choice to pretrain a model for classifying videos on a huge still image dataset. What's more, very few works notice that 3D convolution neural network(3D CNN) is better for low-level spatial-temporal features extraction while recurrent neural network(RNN) is better for modelling high-level temporal feature sequences. Consequently, a novel model is proposed in our work to address the two problems mentioned above. First, we pretrain 3D CNN model on huge video action recognition dataset Kinetics to improve generality of the model. And then long short term memory(LSTM) is introduced to model the high-level temporal features produced by the Kinetics-pretrained 3D CNN model. Our experiments results show that the Kinetics-pretrained model can generally outperform ImageNet-pretrained model. And our proposed network finally achieve leading performance on UCF-101 dataset. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This study basically deals with the identification of glacier terminus position. The data used include Toposheets, Landsat TM, MSS, ETM+ and OLI/TIRS sensors. Firstly, converts the Landsat DN images are converted into Reflectance images using formulae from Landsat Handbook. The formulae were implemented using Raster calculator following the ARC GIS 10.2 software. Secondly, the ndVI and ndWI images were created and used for the identification of glacier terminus positions for a period 1990–2012 for a glacier in Alaknanda basin, while for the glacier in Indus basin an analysis was made for the period 1963–2013. Glacier terminus is considered as the starting point of the river from it. Further, the altitude of snout position was marked, and elevation value was obtained using Cartosat DEM. In addition, the retreat rate of glaciers was determined per year. A linear regression model was derived for the altitude position of glacier terminus, which gave a good value of coefficient of determination. A comparison was made on the predicted value of 2013, altitude position from ANN and linear regression model. It was observed that the ANN predicted results with a better accuracy. Further analysis was made on future affect of such a glacier retreat on cold water habitat, on crop irrigation and on the fisheries. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2018.

Image classification being widely applied to computer vision is an im-age processing method to distinguish the different category targets according to the different features reflected by the image information. BOW-SVM is a relative-ly typical image classification method with higher precision, however, it's unsatis-factory in operation performance. To improve the performance and precision more efficiently, a high-efficiency image classification method based on HOG-PCA is proposed. First of all, it is to make the feature whitening by extracting the Histogram of Oriented Gradients(HOG) features, secondly, make the random down-sampling for the scale unification, afterwards, adopt the principal component analysis(PCA) for feature mapping and finally make the nearest neighbor classification through the minimum two-order norm determination. In the experiment, the proposed method is realized and tested on the P ASCAL 2012 data set through C++ on the basis of OPENCV and Darwin to compare the precision and operation performance of this method and BOW-SVM method;according to the experiment, the proposed has higher precision and better operation performance.

Interaction behaviors of users on different platforms on the Internet make user-generated content spread widely and become popular. How to model and predict the popularity of topic concerned by users is vital for many fields. Aiming at the problem of topic popularity prediction on microblog platform, a popularity prediction method based on similar topics and co-occurrence topics is proposed. The method is further evaluated with the Sina Weibo dataset. The experimental results show that our method can have relatively better performance in predicting topic popularity than the baseline methods. © 2018, Springer international Publishing AG.

A cognitive control model for space assembly/maintenance task is proposed based on a double-arm robot in this paper. The two arms are designed to implement fixing assemble component and to execute assembling operations respectively. There is one hand and connecting rods articulated by three knots for each arm. The connecting knot retains the rod rotating in one plane. The arm is installed on fixed device which allow arm move with a 2 degree of freedom. By analyzing specific task, the procedural knowledge for cognitive modeling is constructed. Based on ACT-R architecture, a cognitive model for space assembly/maintenance task is constructed, and cognitive control simulation for space assembly is implemented. As an example, to replace solar panel maintenance task is chosen to investigate model's validation and cognitive procedure's rationality. The result shows that both the model's simulating cognitive process and model's running result satisfy human's cognitive characteristic.

Launaea sarmentosa (Willd) *** Kuntze, a creeping herb, belongs to family Asteraceae. It is distributed in sandy coasts of India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, East Africa and Vietnam. In Vietnamese folk medicine, whole plant possess tonic, soporific, diuretic, laxative properties and the roots are used to benefit milk for mothers after childbirth, instead of Lactuca indica. Up to now, the phytochemicals and bioactivities of this plant are not yet been examined. The present study was designed to investigate the saponin, polyphenol and flavonoid contents as well as α-glucosidase inhibitory and antioxidant activities of the leaves of L. sarmentosa. Preliminary phytochemical screening of this plant were found to give positive reactions for flavonoid, saponin, alkaloid, tannin, and steroid compounds. The result of quantitative determination showed that the leaves contains high amount of polyphenol compounds (290.90 mg GAEs/g extract), lower amount of flavonoids (85.47 mg QEs/g extract) and the saponin content was found to be 10.8 % (per dry weight). As expected, the ethanol extract had a antioxidant potential with IC50 value of 24.15 μg/mL in DPPH experiment, compared to that of vitamin C. Meanwhile, the α-glucosidase inhibitory assay showed inhibited enzyme activity with IC50 value of 67.09 μg/ml. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Financial time series is always one of the focus of financial market analysis and research. In recent years, with the rapid development of artificial intelligence, machine learning and financial market are more and more closely linked. Artificial neural network is usually used to analyze and predict financial time series. Based on deep learning, six layer long short-term memory neural networks were constructed. Eight long short-term memory neural networks were combined with Bagging method in ensemble learning and predicting model of neural networks ensemble learning was used in Chinese Stock Market. The experiment tested Shanghai Composite Index, Shenzhen Composite Index, Shanghai Stock Exchange 50 Index, Shanghai-Shenzhen 300 Index, Medium and Small Plate Index and Gem Index during the period from January 4, 2012 to December 29, 2017. For long short-term memory neural network ensemble learning model, its accuracy is 58.5%, precision is 58.33%, recall is 73.5%, F1 value is 64.5%, and AUC value is 57.67%, which are better than those of multilayer long short-term memory neural network model and reflect a good prediction outcome.
