The solution of the Integrated system Optimization and Parameter Estimation (ISOPE) problem necessitates the calculus of real process output derivatives with respect to the inputs. This information is needed in order to satisfy first and second order optimality conditions. Several methods exist and have been developed for calculating these derivatives. In this paper a review of most of the existing methods is presented, in which the Finite Difference Approximation, Dual Control Optimization, Broydon's method, Dynamic Model Identification, with both linear and nonlinear models, together with a neural networks scheme are presented and applied, under simulation, to a cascade Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) system. The results are then discussed and compared to identify the advantages and disadvantages of using each method.

Netflow-based network traffic analysis is one of today's mainstream network traffic monitoring and analysis techniques. However, port-based traffic identification that employed in Netflow-based protocol analysis is inaccurate. Netflow cannot provide enough details for analysis of site access behaviour. In order to overcome the above limitation, we propose an enhanced Netflow data collection method combining packet capturing and flow technique for accurate application identification. Then we design and implement an enhanced Netflow data collection system, which lays a data foundation for traffic analysis. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the system are verified.

The recognition of fractional order behavior when identifying physical systems is relatively new. One of these fields where the fractional order integration can show up is the thermal diffusive interfaces. In fact, for some special conditions, an integration of order 0.5 appears when identifying the system. So, the objective of this work, divided into two parts, is to study the presence and the effects of the fractional order on the system behavior, and to determine the relation between the applied flux, the conduction and the point of measurement of the temperature. Accordingly, this first part will treat the case of homogeneous semi-infinite aluminum bar. Results show that the fractional order behavior of the bar disappears whenever the temperature sensor is far from the boundary where the flux is applied.
