This paper will discuss the design methods of the programmable sample-encoder in the telemetry system, and compare the advantages of the design methods due to the development of the nowadays micro-electronics technology. To fulfill the requirements of combination, seriation, universalization and miniaturization for the equipments on the craft, the design of the programmable sample-encoder in the telemetry system adopts the CPLD control mode. This paper introduces in detail the main function of the CPLD realized in the programmable sample-encoder and the design method of CPLD. The performances of the sample-encoder such as bit-rate, format and so on can be programmable by using CPLD, meantime, the design input, verification and function-simulation can be realized by using the advanced EDA. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Based on MapGIS platform, using vc++ development tools and SQLServer database management system,a 3D visualization and monitoring and warning system for mountain area highway slope was developed in this *** system realized the remote real-time monitoring, inquiry, statistics analysis and forecast for displacement and rainfall *** management and data analysis of drilling and cross-section data were also implemented using 2D GIS.A special 3D modeling module was developed to construct the 3D space model of surface,ground and underground,and in the same time, the function of 3D visualization analysis and inquire based on the the models was presented in this *** system was used in a highway slop of west hunan and a good effect was obtained.

This paper describes an automated system called Roboturb, designed for inspection and maintenance tasks of rotor blades of hydroelectric turbines damaged by cavitation. The main element of this system is a robotic device, with six rotative joints, designed to displace on a portable and flexible rail, configuring a redundant robot with seven degrees of freedom. The robot is supplemented with a set of developed acessories composed by a laser measuring head, to scan the eroded area, a plasma welding system, a teach-pendant for robot operation, an industrial computer, interfaces and power cards for motors and drive systems. The paper presents a description of the robot and its components, and an application of the system in a real task, validating the project and demonstrating its potencial to realize a controlled maintenance. © 2012 IEEE.

Technology innovations in health care offer high potentials for all stakeholders (e.g., patients, healthcare providers and health industry), but the development phase of such innovations is often very expensive and the effects are hardly predictable without a systematic strategy. The new interdisciplinary approach Prospective Health Technology Assessment (ProHTA) uses simulation techniques to indicate the effects of new health technologies, early before the cost-intensive development process begins. Furthermore, ProHTA helps to detect gaps and bottlenecks in the health system to catch potentials for new innovations. The scope of ProHTA includes both a strategic aggregated level of analyses as well as an individual detailed level. This paper describes the use of hybrid simulation approaches, consisting of system Dynamics and Agent-Based Simulation, to analyze the effects of an innovative stroke technology. We discuss an example of the prospective assessment of Mobile Stroke Units within a Metropolitan Scenario. The project ProHTA is a part of the Centre of Excellence for Medical Technology - Medical Valley EMN - and is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), project grant No. 01EX1013B.

Reputation systems are an important factor for building trust in virtual communities. In the article we introduce reputation module for Quality of Protection Modelling Language which allows to represent the reputation system as a part of the protocol, where all operations and communication steps can be consistently modelled. Owing to the proposed approach the reputation systems can be formally specified and computer security impact can be considered as a factor of the metrics in the reputation systems. Finally, we model and analyse the case study of the eBay reputation system with modification which will refer to the computer security impact.

Efficient implementation of block cipher is critical towards achieving high efficiency with good understandability. Numerous number of block cipher including Advance Encryption Standard have been implemented using different platform. However the understanding of the AES algorithm step by step is very tipical. This paper presents the efficient implementation of AES algorithm with the increase of understandability with the use of MATLAB platform. Mainly use of MATLAB in Algorithm development, Data analysis, exploration, visualization, modeling, simulation, prototyping, application development including GUI building and computation. Taking advantages of understandability in MATLAB. The video text detection is an expert system in which we study how the performance can be enhanced by adding neural network. The implementation of video text detection using algorithm based approach [9] is taken and compared with the neural networks based implementation [11]. A standard protocol [10] for evaluating the video text detection approach is taken and its metrics are used for the comparative study. With this comparison, the evaluation of both the systems for better performance can be done. The conclusions necessary for enhancing the usage of neural network is drawn based on the comparison study. In this paper, we are interested in resource allocation for energy constrained and security-critical embedded systems. Tasks in such systems need to be successfully executed under certain energy budget and be robust against serious security threatens. Different to former energy minimal scheduling problem, we introduce a new optimization problem for a set of tasks with energy constraint and multiple security choices. We present a dynamic programming based approximation algorithm to minimize the security risk of the system while statistically guaranteeing energy consumption constraints for given energy slack ratio. The proposed algorithm is very efficient in both time and space dimensions, and achieves good solutions. Extensive simulations demonstrate the superiority of our algorithm over other approaches. © 2012 IEEE.
