A novel multi-scale operator for unorganized 3D point clouds is introduced. The Difference of Normals (DoN) provides a computationally efficient, multi-scale approach to processing large unorganized 3D point clouds. The application of DoN in the multi-scale filtering of two different real-world outdoor urban LIDAR scene datasets is quantitatively and qualitatively demonstrated. In both datasets the DoN operator is shown to segment large 3D point clouds into scale-salient clusters, such as cars, people, and lamp posts towards applications in semi-automatic annotation, and as a pre-processing step in automatic object recognition. The application of the operator to segmentation is evaluated on a large public dataset of outdoor LIDAR scenes with ground truth annotations.

In a Smart Grid communication network at the power distribution level, several technologies have been suggested to meet communication needs. In this work these technologies are compared with an explanation of why wireless communication technologies may be most suitable. A wireless mesh network architecture is proposed to meet communication requirements of the power distribution system. Subsequently, a performance evaluation exploring connectivity and end-to-end delay when routing packets in this mesh architecture is done for the power grid topology. Optimizations are proposed to enhance overall communication performance, with specific recommendations made on node density, antenna transmission power levels, and application data rate. Querying XML databases and their integration is an emerging area in applications related to database management systems. XML documents having similar data may differ in their organization. Hence a single query may not produce uniform results in all the documents. Different queries have to be generated for each of these hierarchies. To avoid this overhead, it is proposed to restructure and integrate different schemas by transforming all the XML schemas to a unique schema. We propose an algorithm to generate a unified query to extract results from this unique schema. Our work is demonstrated using an application of Primary Health Care (PHC) data maintenance system. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

Research on real-time pedestrian counting system based on computer technology

In order to propose a real-time pedestrian counting system, which can be used to estimate the number of pedestrians in the video pedestrians, the video sequence must be carried out according to the following procedures: First, the candidate region is divided into water droplets, background subtraction, extracted from each BLOB corresponding to the estimated number of a set of functions and neural networks, and each set of pedestrian. In order to achieve real-time processing, we use a simple but effective feature, and the use of the Parzen window density estimation, the input image is fast with accurate target detection and adaptive background modeling. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

In order to maintain good social order, we need set some traffic patrol police service platforms at the vital communication line and important position of the city. In this paper, we will use graph theory method to deal with the problem of traffic patrol police service platform's site selection for a fixed unban area. When there are some emergency events happened in the fixed area, these traffic patrol police service platforms should make corresponding response and close vital communication line immediately. So we also need to establish a optimal mathematics model to obtain a reasonable arrangement for closing the vital communication line. Meanwhile, building a scientific index system will help us to measure whether these arrangements reasonable or not. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The article deals with the implementation of an Intelligent system for detection of components present in manhole gas mixture. The detection of manhole gas is important because the manhole gas mixture contain many poisonous gases namely Hydrogen Sulfide (H 2 S), Ammonia (NH 3), Methane (CH 4), Carbon Dioxide (CO 2), Nitrogen Oxide (NO x ), and Carbon Monoxide (CO). A short exposure to any of these components with human beings endangers their lives. A gas sensor array is used for recognition of multiple gases simultaneously. At an instance the manhole gas mixture may contain many hazardous gas components. So it is wise to use specific gas sensor for each gas component in the gas sensor array. Use of multiple gas sensors and presence of multiple gases together result a cross-sensitivity. We implement a real valued neuro genetic algorithm to unravel the multiple gas detection issue. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.

After the economic crisis in 2009, the real estate market has gone through a temporary prosperity, but now it is undergoing the country's another round of macro control. In order to comply with the national's implementation of "one-room, one- price" policy and make second-hand housing market standardized. A comprehensive analysis of our country's real estate prices and the latest development trends is made in this paper, besides;the analysis is based on the real estate evaluation theory. This paper presents a novel real estate estimation method based on spatial decision support system, theoretical analysis and the application of computer technology, this approach is an integration of decision support systems (DSS) and Geographic Information systems (GIS). Meanwhile, it can make our country's real estate evaluation more regular and scientifically.
