Handheld devices have been widely applied in various areas. However, we want to have a new handheld terminal which is easier to use than current handheld device and to improve the performance of the terminal. This research tries to propose an embedded distributed remote monitoring system. In particular, the paper focuses on the design and realization of the embedded handheld data acquisition terminal, namely the distributed remote monitoring system's lower computer terminal. The hardware architecture and circuit of the handheld data acquisition terminal are revealed in detail. Then, the cross-compiler environment and HMI application program for graphical user interface based on Qt/Embedded are established and developed successfully. At last, the result of experimental test proves that the handheld terminal can be working stably and continuously. Further enhancement to the proposed embedded handheld data acquisition terminal is undertaking. © 2012 ieee.

The position evaluation function plays an important role for building an intelligent Chinese-chess computer game (CCCG) player. The mostly used evaluation functions include standard heuristic evaluation function (SHEF) and self learning evaluation function (SLEF). SHEF depends on the board position features to large extent, but it hardly includes all the features due to the limit of knowledge of the designer. And, SLEF can explore the knowledge hidden in the current position which is difficult to find in SHEF. In this paper, a hybrid position evaluation function (HPEF) is designed by fusing SHEF and SLEF. The temporal difference learning (TDL) is used to train the proposed HPEF on professional game records. Based on HPEF, a CCCG player called CCCGp is developed. We experimentally validate that HPEF is quite effective by competing with different kinds of testing players. With the help of HPEF, the intelligent level of CCCGp can be improved incrementally with the increase of number of professional game records HPEF learned. © 2012 ieee.

In order to help Agent or semantic annotation tool in real-time understanding of the text, this paper presents an ontology module partition method: partitioning large broad-coverage ontologism into small ontology modules and storing the partition in advance, in the stage of real-time, according to the application requirements, selecting the appropriate modular from the ontology modular library, then applying directly or composing the selected modules. This time-consuming procedure of ontology extraction and decomposition is put into pre-processing process, which can improve real-time process and improve the efficiency. In this paper, ontology module partition criteria and methods are discussed. The method discussed in this article can partition corresponding ontology in different level of granularities. The ontology relation graph-based ontology module partition algorithm employed extended adjacency list as the storage structure in which the asymptotic time complexity of extended broad first traverse of ontology relation graph is O(n+e). © 2012 ieee.

The software developer's task begins with the procurement of project charter. This is a legal document containing details regarding the software requirement specification (SRS), cost and the schedule etc., of the project. The SRS of the organization is a text document incorporating the requirements of the organization. The software development of and information system is based on the SRS of the client organization. This paper attempts to abstracts design components (Object class name, Object methods, and its attributes. Actors and interfaces of actors) from software requirement specification. The objective of this paper is to develop a single semi automated methodology for the abstraction of different useable components from SRS, so that they can be transformed as model elements. To provide a semiotic environment for the design of model elements to the transformation of useable components. © 2012 ieee.

In this paper, we introduce a new algorithm λ -WFC based on fuzzy cluster into the indoor location of WSN. First, a location fingerprint database is set up and we calculate an optimal value of λ which is a threshold for classifying the RSS vectors in the off-line training phase. Then in the locating phase, after fuzzy clustering has been done, we estimate the degree of similarity between two vectors by Jffreys&Matusita formula, and assign different weights to the coordinates of reference nodes to calculate the location of the unknown node. Finally it is proved in our simulation experiments that this algorithm could be effective to avoid the dilemma caused by the multipath and abnormal signal attenuation as well as that it has the advantages of low complexity, fast execution, high accuracy and practical applicability for the large-scale of indoor location of WSN. © 2012 ieee.

ISEE was proposed as an information security engineering environment that supports continuous and consistent design, development, management and maintenance of security facilities of target systems, based on ISO/IEC security standards. However, the current ISEE only provides services passively, i.e., it can only response to users' explicit requests, but cannot provide useful services to users actively. In order to make ISEE more practical, it is a challenge to provide active services, which can give useful services to users actively in advance but do not give users undesired services. To this end, this paper proposes an information security engineering cloud (ISEC), that has all functions of ISEE, and moreover, provides active services to its users. This paper presents the basic ideas, requirements, design, and implementation issues of ISEC. © 2012 ieee.

In order to improve the campus securities and obtain the personnel information, and campus access control system is developed and introduced in this paper. TCP/IP, PPP, HTTP, HTML, POP3 and SMTP are used to constitute the basic network and transport layer to transmit real-time access information. The real-time access information is input by Network Connection Element (NCE) like radio frequency devices, surveillance camera devices, computers and routers. It's better to guarantee the safety of data storage and access when using ODBC to build the data source and using ADO to visit and manipulate database. Using the IE to enter in the system can be convenient for users. The personnel study or work in the campus can use the RFID card to passing in or out the campus smoothly. The application system only used the existing campus RFID card and need not any extra investment. © 2012 ieee.

This study applies the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model to analyze the factors affecting users to use mobile e-books. Performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, perceived cost and facilitating conditions are the five main factors. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is used to evaluate relationships among these factors. The research results are as follows: performance expectancy and effort expectancy have a significant positive effect on behavioral intention;effort expectancy and social influence have an indirect positive influence on behavioral intention;perceived cost and facilitating conditions have no effect on using mobile e-books. High quality content, user-friendly operating interface and media promotion are the critical measures for promoting the development of mobile e-books market. © 2012 ieee.

This paper presents a new stock price trends prediction algorithm using hypergraph model. Hypergraph modeling offers a significant advantage over traditional graph modeling in terms of triadic or higher relationship description within different stock portfolios over a certain period of time. Under the hypergraph model, each stock will be abstracted as a vertex of hypergraph;the hyperedges can be built by seeking the synchronous relationship of the stocks trends. In order to acquire more refined hyperedges and to avoid the tremendous growing quantity of hyperedges, we employ the frequent item sets to construct hyperedges. Therefore the prediction problem for stock trends is converted to hypergraph partitioning problem. Multilevel paradigm is then applied to do hypergraph partitioning instead of the traditional recursive bisection paradigm. Thus we get a series of stocks section, and the stock price trends can be concluded by analysis the whole section. Experiment result shows that our proposed scheme achieves fine stock trend prediction and the computation is significantly fast as well. © 2012 ieee.

As Chinese government is exploring to establish a unified hospital registration system to solve the general problem of waiting in a long queue to make a hospital registration, correct registration is an efficient way to avoid wasting medical resources and the prerequisite of getting timely inspection and treatment. The purpose of this research is to build a disease self-inspection and hospital registration recommendation system to help people do the disease self-inspection and make an online registration fast. Firstly, the system assists people to make a rough disease self-inspection by checking different symptoms of body parts. Secondly, people are recommended to corresponding hospital registration departments to make an online registration. During the above procedures, some factors are seriously considered, such as the disease and allergy history of the user, the department hierarchy in hospitals of different levels in China, current situation of medical resources and so on, which may affect the results of the disease self-inspection and registration recommendation greatly. The system works well as an information service on the regional medical information sharing and collaborative platform, which is based on cloud computing and set up by our team. As a result, it can be monitored, controlled and further improved. © 2012 ieee.
