This paper studies the two-period pricing model considering customers' reference prices. We assume that customers respond to the current price of a product by comparing it to the past prices and this response will lead to reference effect. By solving a two-stage dynamic programming problem, we provide the optimal price policy for the seller. The numerical example shows that the optimal price for either period and the gross profit are decreasing with the increase of the price elasticity, reference effect factor and memory parameter. But they are decreasing with the decrease of the discount factor. We also make a comparison between optimal pricing strategy and myopic pricing strategy. The results show that long-term decision is superior to myopic strategy while customers' reference effect is taken into account during pricing-decision processes. © 2012 ieee.

With the rapid growth of wireless and mobile communication technology, P2P live streaming application is extending to mobile peer. In order to prevent Message Dropping Attacks (MDAs) in mobile P2P live streaming system, we model the fragments exchanging behavior between neighboring mobile peers under an infinitely repeated two-player game theoretic framework. The Nash Equilibrium is refined based on proportional fairness optimality and an optimal and cheat-proof strategy for preventing MDAs is proposed. The experiment results shows that the strategy proposed can prevent mobile peers from dropping messages and cheating on their private information. © 2012 ieee.

The network topology visualization technology can be researched from the following several aspects: (1) Study adaptability of network topology discovery. It needs a kind of algorithm which can quickly detect the network topology of a completely unknown structural network. (2) Multiple effect integration of Visualization technology. The current network topology management system usually only use a single visual tools to visualization data. As Web technology development and graphics processing technology development, AIR technology and the 3D technology is more and more widely used. If they can be used into the network topology visualization design and implementation, Visualization effect will reach a new high level. (3) The integration of network topology visualization technology and network management. Although the point of network topology visualization is visualization, it should include more modern network management functions, in order to truly realize the value of the technology research. © 2012 ieee.

The relationship between object oriented metrics and software maintainability is complex and non-linear. Therefore, there is considerable research interest in development and application of sophisticated techniques which can be used to build models for predicting software maintainability. However, when predicting maintainability not only product quality measurements are surrounded with imprecision and uncertainty, but also the relationships between the external and internal quality attributes suffer from imprecision and uncertainty. The reason behind that, there are at least two important sources of information for building the prediction model: historical data and human experts. Therefore, in this paper an attempt has been made to utilize the capability of fuzzy logic in handling imprecision and uncertainty to come up with an efficient maintainability prediction model. The proposed model is constructed using object-oriented metrics data in Li and Henry's datasets collected from two different object-oriented systems. © 2012 ieee.

Grey prediction is suitable for such kinds of system objective with few data, short time and little fluctuation. Markov chain is just suitable for predicting stochastic fluctuating dynamic process. In connecting with the non-linear fluctuation characteristic of international copper prices, a grey metabolism Markov chain (GMMC) method is proposed for the middle and long term prediction of the prices. The prediction effect of the new method is examined with the international copper prices of 1990-2011 as a testing data sequence. Experiment results show that the prediction effect of the new model is better than GM(1, 1) model and grey Markov chain(GMC) model. It is indicated that the GMMC method has a quite high application value for international copper price prediction without considering the affect of economic crisis. © 2012 ieee.

This paper proposed a packet scheduling algorithm to improve the quality of service (QoS) of video streaming over wireless network. We apply the active queue management (AQM) techniques at the Access Category (AC) queue of 802.11e WLAN EDCA to regulate the queuing delay. When a packet arrives, first the queuing probability is calculated to determine the probability the packet should be assigned to an AC queue. The queuing probability considers both queue length and load factor. Then the packet scheduling algorithm determines how to assign the packets to different AC queues. This design takes into account the queue length, the application requirement and the current network situation. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheduling algorithm can improve the performance of video streaming over 802.11e EDCA. It can provide higher PSNR values and lower end-to-end delay compared to the standard 802.11e EDCA. © 2012 ieee.

In order to improve the management efficiency and normative for technology projects management, an application online system of technology projects management which the C# language and B/S framework based on the Visual *** 2008 are used to developed and introduced detailed in this paper. The proposed system achieved the cooperator with projects applications' personals, application employer, reviewers and project management department to manage the plan projects. The proposed system functions include the projects application, review, the acceptance and achievement transformation of plan projects which can obtained the institutionalization and normative for technology projects progressing. The project application, the project examining information and the project maintaining information can be improved convenient for the applied person. The employer and the projects management department can impalement the projects progress tracing and the application of institutionalization. The application effects are demonstrated that the management efficiency was increased by using the proposed system. © 2012 ieee.

The Web services Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) is a language used to specify compositions of web services. In the last few years, a considerable amount of work has been done on modeling (parts of) BPEL and developing verification techniques and tools for BPEL. Petri nets and formal languages have been widely used to model Web services composition, but temporal value passing calculus of communicating systems (TVPCCS) language seems to be more adequate for several reasons. Generally BPEL programs are mapped to other languages and then the verification is performed, A more promising way is to directly build TVPCCS model, to check it and then map it to a BPEL process model. This paper describes a mapping from TVPCCS onto BPEL process model. © 2012 ieee.

Handheld devices have been widely applied in various areas. However, we want to have a new handheld terminal which is easier to use than current handheld device and to improve the performance of the terminal. This research tries to propose an embedded distributed remote monitoring system. In particular, the paper focuses on the design and realization of the embedded handheld data acquisition terminal, namely the distributed remote monitoring system's lower computer terminal. The hardware architecture and circuit of the handheld data acquisition terminal are revealed in detail. Then, the cross-compiler environment and HMI application program for graphical user interface based on Qt/Embedded are established and developed successfully. At last, the result of experimental test proves that the handheld terminal can be working stably and continuously. Further enhancement to the proposed embedded handheld data acquisition terminal is undertaking. © 2012 ieee.

The position evaluation function plays an important role for building an intelligent Chinese-chess computer game (CCCG) player. The mostly used evaluation functions include standard heuristic evaluation function (SHEF) and self learning evaluation function (SLEF). SHEF depends on the board position features to large extent, but it hardly includes all the features due to the limit of knowledge of the designer. And, SLEF can explore the knowledge hidden in the current position which is difficult to find in SHEF. In this paper, a hybrid position evaluation function (HPEF) is designed by fusing SHEF and SLEF. The temporal difference learning (TDL) is used to train the proposed HPEF on professional game records. Based on HPEF, a CCCG player called CCCGp is developed. We experimentally validate that HPEF is quite effective by competing with different kinds of testing players. With the help of HPEF, the intelligent level of CCCGp can be improved incrementally with the increase of number of professional game records HPEF learned. © 2012 ieee.
