SOFL approach to the construction of the formal specifications has been proposed and applied in information systems, but its effectiveness and applicability have not been demonstrated aggressively. In this paper, we describe an application of the SOFL approach to the construction of a specification during requirements analysis. This approach requires two steps: informal and semi-formal steps. In order to describe on how this approach can be applied to capture requirements using SOFL easily, we use a case study to develop an examination monitoring system for construct abstract requirements. This case study demonstrates the suitability of SOFL to capture detail requirements and provides us with an insight into the knowledge of how SOFL approach can be effectively supported. © 2012 ieee.

Testing engineers in the third-party software testing center are often puzzled with some non-technical problems, such as, how to deal with the developers' reactance, and how to meet the end users' satisfaction, during the software testing process. Unfortunately, little attention has been paid to solve such kind of problems. In this paper, we argue that the high quality and high productivity pursued by software testing require us not only to emphasize the hard skills of testing engineers but also to enhance their soft skills in an appropriate and systematic way, which should deserve more attention. We furthermore argue that attention should be paid to obtain qualitative insight and feedback from testing engineers and to explore in what way to acquire the useful information. We conduct a qualitative study to explore and understand testing engineers' soft skills from five different test teams based on multidimensional perspective levels under the analysis of grounded theory. The on-going research work's agenda is given, several research challenges are analyzed and at last future work is proposed. © 2012 ieee.

The existing ontology reasoners are all unilaterally description logic-based or rule-based, and their abilities to deal with fuzzy ontology are limited. It is the diversity of fuzzy ontology representation methods among them that leads to a low processing efficiency of fuzzy ontology. To solve this bottle-neck problem of fuzzy ontology-based knowledge reasoning, fuzzy ontology, fuzzy ontology representation method and fuzzy description logic are investigated, and the existing fuzzy ontology reasoners are comparatively analyzed. By virtue of the advantages of the typical reasoners such as Pellet, JenaAPI and fuzzyDL (fuzzy Description Logic), a method combining rule and description logic reasoning is designed, and a framework about fuzzy ontology based knowledge reasoning is proposed. By reducing fuzzy ontology, checking consistency and repairing inconsistency, the efficiency and accuracy of fuzzy ontology based knowledge reasoning can be improved. Finally, an experiment is given to verify the validity of proposed method. © 2012 ieee.

Looper system of hot strip rolling mill is electro mechanic and hydraulic pressure system. Because of dynamic parameters uncertainties and complex structure, it's very difficult to setup the model. However, its control performance has directly relative to the strip product quality. In this paper, robust non-fragile guaranteed cost controller is designed for looper system. For a class of uncertain discrete system, based on Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequalities, a sufficient condition is presented for the existence of robust non-fragile guaranteed cost controller. Furthermore, this solvable approach for guaranteed cost controller is given by the feasible of linear matrix inequalities. This non-fragile guaranteed cost controller is applied to looper systems of hot strip rolling mill. Simulation results show the efficiency of the designing method. © 2012 ieee.

Using fuzzy c-means clustering procedure to find a condensed set for Parzen windows estimation (ParzenFCMC) is proposed in this paper. The full Parzen windows estimator usually requires more computation and storage. However, the experimental simulations show that the significant increase of reference data may not improve the estimation performance of Parzen windows method obviously. In addition, the theoretical analysis validates the traditional Parzen windows estimator is sensitive to noise data. Thus, in order to improve the generalization capability (i.e., the adaptability to nosie data) of Parzen windows estimation, we try to find a condensed dataset to conduct the probability density estimation by adopting the following measures: 1) clustering the original dataset by using fuzzy c-means;2) estimating the underlying density function based on the condensed reference set. Finally, the experimental results on the synthetic datasets obeying Uniform, Normal, Exponential, and Rayleigh distributions show the usefulness and effectiveness of proposed ParzenFCMC. The significant savings on computation and storage can be achieved with only minimal mean integrated squared error (MISE) degradation. © 2012 ieee.

Smart home, a word that takes the world by storm rapidly over the recent years, is approaching our daily life on multiple fronts, however, the technology does not really involve our daily life. The high concentration of the technology causes the monopolization of such technology, the monopolize of such technology causes the high threshold of the technology, many peopleare not able to afford a high cost system. Therefore, using less money to achieve the same goal is needed. Therefore, using less money to achieve the same goal is needed, We propose a cheaper solution to achieve the same goal. Using movable system to improve the traditional smart home system, making integration of different modules and manipulate them as an entirety, assist with remote operation which is able to control the whole system via hand devices, our improved system came out. With movable foundation to support the Smart Home Technology, our system sharing benefits like convenience, flexibility and inexpensive cost, our mobile environmental detection and regulating system make the access into Smart Home Technology into ordinary families possible. © 2012 ieee.

To improve the operation speed and accuracy of two-dimensional barcodes image-correction, this paper proposed a QR code edge detection method based on wavelet transform. Firstly, we take advantage of the characteristics of multi-resolution analysis of wavelet transformation to denoise the QR code image. And then multi-level wavelet decomposition is done to the denoised image, from which we can obtain the wavelet coefficient at all levels. And finally, we refine the edge processing to get the target image. Tests result shows that the algorithm can not only obtain good edge detection effect, but also greatly simplify the calculation. What's more, it can reduce the noise effectively. © 2012 ieee.

GHG Fund is one of the suggested market-based measures for emission reduction from the international shipping. Analysis showed that application of the Fund may cause the bunker fuel cost increased directly and the capital and operation cost increased indirectly in the shipping industry. Furthermore, a causality model about the bunker fuel price and the cargo freight as well as a model about the bunker fuel price and the cargo cost have been developed by EVIEWS software. Empirical analysis showed that, at 95% confidence interval, during 2002q1-2010q4 period, if the fuel price change of 1%, China's imported iron ore freight will change by 1.28% and imported iron ore cost will be a 0.35% change. In conclusion, the application of GHG Fund will have a slightly negative impact on the import cost of iron ore in China. This methodology can be used to evaluate the impacts of the other imported cargoes in China so that a thorough picture could be obtained. © 2012 ieee.

Data dissemination in intelligent transportation system (ITS) using VANET (vehicle Ad-hoc networks) is a key area for deployment of applications that can interfere into the flow of information in the transport system. The information may include information about traffic accidents, information about available parking spaces and so on It is therefore important that the disseminated data should get to the widest possible broadcasted area with the least possible delay. It is the only way how the disseminated data can have maximum efficiency. The most popular methods of data dissemination similar to VANET are from the category of MANET networks. These are multi-hop and store-and-forward oriented solutions. Each of these solutions has its strengths and weaknesses. In our work we propose balanced data dissemination algorithm (PDDA - Push Different Data Alg.) into VANET using DDBS. The target of the algorithm is to achieve a wider dissemination of current data. The proposed algorithm was tested in a simulator *** [4, 5] and compared with Skip Copy algorithm. © 2012 ieee.

To acquire the certification according to ISO/IEC 15408 for a target system, it is necessary to create a security target (ST) which specifies security facilities of the system. Creating STs is not an easy task for developers because they do not know how to create STs well, even if they know the security facilities. Meanwhile, STs should be maintained continuously to keep a target system secure. Maintaining STs is not easy as same as creating STs. However, there is no tool to support developers and maintainers to create and maintain STs so far. This paper presents a supporting tool according to ISO/IEC 15408, named ST-Editor. ST-Editor tells users what should be described and how they should be described in STs and provides a helpful and secure editing and maintaining environment of STs. © 2012 ieee.
