Traditional item positioning system is usually categorized into manual operation or database statistics due to the fact that these items are highly important and have large circulation. However, this method has low efficiency to manage core items and even cannot be useful in the real-time monitoring and the process of tracking to the goods. So we need to provide a method-RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) which has higher reliability and its writing and reading speed that are faster than before. The purpose of this paper is to design a feasible and efficient private item positioning and monitoring management system using RFID and corresponding computer software, the system has benefits such as high durability, strong penetration, a vast memory capacity, a multi-purpose card, miniature volume, simple operation. This system could be applied to a more widely area like archives, museum and library. © 2012 ieee.

This letter use echo state network (ESN) and three decoupled echo state network (DESN) to predict the sea clutter time series and detect target embedded in sea clutter. The performance of predicting and detecting using these methods is compared. A set of time series from IPIX radar data is tested. Numerical experiments reveal that DESN with maximum available information (DESN+MaxInfo) and DESN with reservoir prediction (DESN+RP) show higher prediction precision in pure sea clutter data. ESN has the better effect for detecting target in sea clutter. © 2012 ieee.

The incentive mechanisms based on reputation are often used to induce cooperation among selfish nodes in ad hoc networks. In those mechanisms nodes with lower reputation value will receive less benefit, which suffers from a new problem of second-ordered free riding. Refusing service request from bad nodes will increase the defector's own reputation, so refusing isn't a favorable choice. Mitigating this new selfish behavior is important to improve the cooperation in ad hoc networks and enhance system robustness. The paper discusses the second-ordered free-riding problem in incentive mechanism for packet forwarding in ad hoc networks and proposes a new scheme based on second-ordered reputation combining with a probabilistic service assignment rule. It is proved that the new scheme is available and cooperation can be built in various network settings. © 2012 ieee.

Personalized recommendation and user preference to books have aroused lots of attention both domestically and abroad and fruitful achievements have been made in this area. Nevertheless, the previous preference models mainly focus on the content of books and ignore the attribute of price of a book. In an actual book recommendation system, the price influences the consumers' buying behavior to a large extent and should be considered seriously. Based on the existing preference models, in addition to the attributes of the publisher, publishing date, discount, and the other consumers' reviews, this study takes the attribute of price into consideration to a particular book. The dummy variable regression method is employed to analyze the data mainly from Amazon. Through data analysis and investigation, this paper tries to explore the importance of its different attributes in the user preference to a book. In accordance with the data analysis, some suggestions are provided for book recommendation system design and relevant website modification. © 2012 ieee.

Imbalanced dataset is an important factor influencing the effect of learning algorithms. Its influence on the classification learner is even more universal. To deal with imbalanced classification problem, sampling strategy is always an efficient method, however some other aspects of this strategy need to be solved. What distribution should be regulated among the classes and within the class? Which sampling strategy, over-sampling or under-sampling, is more acceptable in specific issues? What metric should be used to measure the classification results? In this paper we propose a general rule to select sampling strategy and design a novel metric V-measure, putting more attention to the minority. As for the distribution between the classes our choice of them is based on the standard whether the selected distribution will lead to significant improvement of the evaluation criteria. © 2012 ieee.

The accuracy rate of information extracting by Web mining is not high because of the diversity and complexity of Web page. In order to increase the accuracy rate of information extracting by Web mining for building the science and technology basic information system, a novel multi-factor matching is proposed in this paper. The proposed method integrates the position of every word among the keywords corpus in normalized text and the multi-factor matching method between keywords corpus and normalized text which extracted from Web page by URL. The extracted results include the name, sex, birth, hometown and professional title of science and technology experts respectively. Experiments show that the accuracy rates obtain 95.64 percent and the recall rates achieve 99.69 percent respectively. The results show as by proposed method can satisfied the application requirements. © 2012 ieee.

In the paper, we provide a novel routing algorithm (ANRP), which is based on Ant Colony System. The aim of the ANRP is to solve the problem of limited energy for wireless sensor network routing process. It is able to achieve better load balance and prolong the network lifetime. ANRP combines the ratio of the residual energy and the total energy with the distance of any two nodes, which is used as the control factor of the decision probability. Furthermore, in the incremental equation of pheromone, it also considers data packets length and the hop-size between source node and destination node. In this way, NARP can search the optimize path from the source node to destination node and balances the energy consumption for WSNs. Simulation results demonstrate that NARP has better performance than AODV. © 2012 ieee.

In this paper a new fuzzy evaluation method is proposed to rank several multi disjoint paths selection algorithms in network. This method combines fuzzy theory and Copeland method to evaluate rank of each proposed method base on bandwidth, availability and delay of end to end paths as determinative factors which their importance are expressed in linguistic variables. The Copeland ranking can be seen as an ordering of alternatives according to the stated principle that the more majority wins the better. © 2012 ieee.

High-quality video transmission over wireless local area networks is one of the most challenging issues nowadays. The Data Distribution service (DDS) is a promising middleware that can be used for video distribution over WLANs. DDS has a rapid implementation in high-performance and mission-critical networks. This paper evaluates the performance parameters such as throughput and jitter when video transmission is introduced in a 802.11g networks using DDS. Furthermore, it investigates the DDS QoSs that affects video streaming over WLANs which is important when deploying end-to-end video streaming services with quality of service guarantee. © 2012 ieee.
