Due to the random-like property and high sensitivity for initial values and parameters, chaotic systems are usually proposed as a solution to image encryption. In this study, the authors introduce a new chaotic system called LS chaotic system using the Logistic map and Sine map. It shows excellent chaotic behaviors. Applying the new chaotic system, a novel image encryption algorithm is also introduced based on the substitution and permutation network structure. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm's excellent performance in image encryption. It can also be applied to provide security for other multimedia. © 2012 ieee.

To get salient and reliable features is of great importance to robot navigation and other computer vision applications. This paper concentrates on feature detection, saliency description and matching for visual navigation. A corner detector based on chord-to-point distance accumulation is introduced to extract corners which represent the main structure of objects. Saliency descriptor of corner is defined according to its scale, angle, gradient, and rarity. Control points are selected according to the corners' saliency and tracked in sequential images with the method based on Fourier-Melline transform. Experiments show that the efficiency and robustness of vision navigation system are improved with the proposed method. © 2012 ieee.

Present android-based location and message sharing system asks to input the personal information which fails to protect the privacy of information, has no centralized database which is causing the problem of data management and portability, and one main drawback is unable to have a secured two way communication between webserver and android based application. And this Android-based Location and Message Sharing System (ALMSS) is proposed for solving above mention problem. The proposed system uses Java programming language for android mobile user application, PHP programming language as webserver, MySQL as external database to store the data, JSON as intermediary between android platform and webserver and uses symmetric cryptography while communicating between android device and webserver which finally assures the protection of information. © 2012 ieee.

Interpersonal trust relationship is an important dimension of interpersonal relationships. With new introduced plots of literature, we can evaluate the environment of characters and predict plot development to some extent. This paper proposes a representation of interpersonal trust relationship based on the fuzzy set theory in the restricted domain of A Dream of Red Mansions. Interpersonal trust degrees are obtained by the comprehensive evaluation based on the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process. This paper proposes a thought that solves the divergences of domain experts, and proposes an approach that establishes the initial trust degree between characters. Based on above, this paper analyzes the trust bias and overall trust degree between characters and mines the relationship between characters and content of the whole trust network of characters. The experiments show that the model is efficient in reflecting the interpersonal trust relationship of A Dream of Red Mansions. The interpersonal trust relationship of A Dream of Red Mansions is modeled and analyzed by the fuzzy set theory, which provides a novel thought on mathematical study of interpersonal trust relationship in literary works. © 2012 ieee.

The reciprocating gas compressor is the core equipment used to gather and transport offshore oil and gas. The BOP-X-2502A/B/C type compressor groups, which are marine large-scaled high-pressure reciprocating gas compressor groups on BZ28-2SBOP offshore platform of CNOOC (China) Ltd., are characterized by the complicated structures, various moving parts, numerous failure samples. Therefore, an integrated fault diagnostic technique is proposed to carry out the condition monitoring and the trend forecasting of compressor groups. The diagnostic technique also can be used to identify and locate the cause of faults, to determine the degree of fault type, to achieve the real-time network monitoring, and to share data resource using network, etc. Then the fault diagnostic software system is developed based on Lab Windows/CVI software. The safety of equipment and overall management level is improved significantly after using the diagnostic method. © 2012 ieee.

The classification performance of traditional LDA is often degraded by the fact that its separability criteria are not directly related to the classification accuracy in the output space. The fractional LDA (F-LDA) can solve the problem by more heavily weighting classes that are closer together. This paper proposes a novel face recognition method based on an ensemble of local F-LDA (ELF-LDA) classifiers. Firstly, an effective preprocessing scheme is employed incorporating a Logarithmic transformation and a local normalization procedure. Then the local block Gabor features are extracted by applying Gab or filters to each spatial block of preprocessed facial images. After that, multiple F-LDA classifiers are obtained on each local block of Gabor features. Finally, all the classifiers are fused to an ensemble classifier. The experimental results on CAS-PEAL-R1 face database show that our method significantly outperforms state-of-art face identification techniques. And it is noticeable that EFL-LDA obtains the best performance reported in the literature to the best of our knowledge. © 2012 ieee.

There has been a wide variety of automatic segmentation methods with deepening study of the Chinese information processing, and the ambiguity problem is a challenge which all the methods must face. This paper summarizes the algorithms of Chinese text segmentation. Through the introduction of multiple ambiguities, it analyzes the necessity of the existence of ambiguities. On the basis of Chinese text segmentation, it offers a new overlapping ambiguity elimination algorithm based on segmentation rank. The algorithm can eliminate ambiguities and improve the efficiency and accuracy of the Chinese segmentation overlapping ambiguous. © 2012 ieee.

By combining adaptive modulation (AM) and automatic repeat request (ARQ), a cross-layer design (CLD) scheme for MIMO system with space-time block coding (STBC) and imperfect channel state information (CSI) is presented in this paper, and the effect of the imperfect CSI on the system performance is investigated. Based on the imperfect CSI, the probability density function of the effective signal to noise ratio (SNR) is derived, and the fading gain switching thresholds subject to a target packet loss rate and fixed power constraint are also derived. According to these results, closed-form expressions of the average spectrum efficiency (SE) and packet error rate (PER) of the system are further derived, respectively. These derived expressions include some existing expressions with perfect CSI as special cases, and can provide good performance evaluation for the CLD system with imperfect CSI. Numerical results verify the validity of the theoretical analysis. The results show that the SE and PER of the system with imperfect CSI are worse than those with perfect CSI due to the estimation error, but their performance difference will be reduced as estimation accuracy increases. © 2012 ieee.

This paper presents an analysis of the data streams trend in sensor network based on sliding window. The method combine the sliding window technique with the nonlinear polynomial fitting of least square, which is used to analysis the trend of data flow that obtained from the sensors which is applied in the object being monitored. Effective trend analysis can provide the basis for early warning, maintenance and repair, management decisions while the object is being monitored in the special climate, traffic conditions and severe abnormal operating conditions. © 2012 ieee.

System dependence net is a formal model to explicitly represent program dependences in a concurrent program which consists of multiple procedures. It is useful for development and maintenance of concurrent programs, such as program slicing, testing, debugging, and complexity measuring. A system dependence net generator for Ada 95 was proposed and developed. It cannot be used for Ada 2005 programs because Ada 2005 has a lot of changes from Ada 95. There is no study about how to generate system dependence nets of Ada 2005 programs until now. This paper proposes a method to generate system dependence nets of Ada 2005 programs by improving already proposed method for Ada 95. © 2012 ieee.
