This paper presents design, analysis, simulation and application of the Multivariable control theory to a shunt dynamic power filter to augment the power quality by reducing harmonics of electrical system. The aim of this work is to linearize active shunt power filter by applying nonlinear transformation to electrical model. To achieve the improved dynamic characteristics of the electrical system, sliding mode controller is suggested which bequeaths heftiness and tactlessness to system parameters. Moreover, the suggested multivariable controller ensures the apt following of the reference signal by means of PI controller and simplifies the on the whole control design. The controller is designed and implemented in MATLAB 2012a. Simulation Results are provided in MATLAB 2012a.

The Songhua River Pollution control Project is one of the most significant water-related environmental pollution control schemes in Northeastern *** paper details the requirements,architecture,and main components of an online river sudden pollution simulation system(RSPSS) for scientific planning and decision making for a complicated natural river *** the basis of a service-oriented method and spatiotemporal simulation technology,the following components are developed:multi-platform,multi-level,dynamic,and flexible data services;task services that can be used by other online ArcGIS Server Silverlight Projects;and integrated third-party hydrodynamic and water quality models,which can simulate complex river networks under natural hydrological and climatic conditions *** the RSPSS,spatial and nonspatial datasets and functions are seamlessly integrated from distributed sources by standard ***,this system can support effective cross-regional and cross-departmental decisions.A study of a real-world implementation of the suggested system involving the historical sudden pollution of the Songhua River based on the RSPSS is also presented.

Hovering autonomous underwater vehicle (HAUV) play an important role in short distance underwater inspection mission. There are a lot of disturbances and uncertainties underwater, a robust control is needed to minimize the effects of external influences on HAUV's system behaviour, subjects to the constraint of not having a complete representation of the HAUV system. This paper describes the development of robust sliding mode depth control of a thruster propelled HAUV. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the performance of designed sliding mode depth control.

In this paper, the design of nonlinear observer-based dynamic controller for Nonlinear Networked controlsystems (NNCS) will be presented on the assumption that there exist packet loss between the sensor and the controller and between the controller and the actuator. Two different linear function of a stochastic variable satisfying a Bernoulli random binary distribution will represent the existence of the packet loss. The formulation of NNCS problem will be reduced to solving Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI). Finally, a demonistrative example will be presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed LMI approach.

In this paper, theoretical analysis on the downlink spectral efficiency of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in Nakagami fading is introduced. Thanks to our accurate analytical technique, a closed-form expression of NOMA is proposed. With the closed form, the exact average of the spectral efficiency can be achieved at different user power allocations and channel conditions. Furthermore, the findings of this work can be extended to compute the spectral efficiency of orthogonal multiple access (OMA) such as orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) in Nakagami fading.

Noise affects the values of pixels in a thermal image. As the values of pixels will determine the appearance of the bit planes of thermal images, noise will affect the bit planes as well. Noisy thermal images have bit planes which resembles static. These bit planes will not be useful for the purpose of extracting low-level details, e.g. detecting edges and blobs. The method described in this article is intended to be utilized as a pre-processing step to identify these bit planes before any further processing steps which make use of bit planes take place.

This paper deals with the level control of a prototyped Split Range Plant Process. The conventional PID controller is initially applied to the process and the results are obtained. As the system takes a large settling time the following two controllers are also implemented. Apart from lowering the settling time, to increase the robustness of the system Sliding Mode control (SMC) and Dynamic Sliding Mode control (DSMC) are applied to the same system and the results are compared. To make the system more user friendly the whole programming is done in LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrument Workbench) software. This software is based on graphical programming technique. The objective of this paper is to present the response of all the three controllers on the prototype split range plant.

Active disturbance rejection controller has distinguished performance on restricting uncertain disturbances. However, setting ADRC parameters is a time consuming task and depends strongly on operator's experience. In this paper, we propose an approach for computing the ADRC parameters based on clonal selection algorithm (CSA). To validate this method, we build a MATLAB simulation for an UAV longitudinal channel control. Moreover, good results are obtained when we compare our approach to the one based on GA optimization. This work can be used to set parameters automatically, making the design of UAV controller more efficient.
