The paper describes a new method for the synthesis of the application specific distributed controlsystems, constructed using the FPGA devices. The initial steps of the proposed control algorithm rely on the notion of a Petri net, which is an easy way to describe parallel processes. The subsequent steps of the algorithm consist in the decomposition of a given Petri net - with the use of a coloring algorithm - into a set of state machine type subnets. We think of each subnet as representing one parallel process. These subnets are then implemented independently in different FPGA devices. To ensure proper communication between all subnets, the entire controlsystem uses a globally asynchronous locally synchronous (GALS) architecture with each subnet synchronized by the local clock signal. Global communication between components is buffer-based and uses additional signals, generated in a given subnet and distributed to the remaining ones.

However, in most cases such COTS components are not designed with stringent timing and/or safety requirements as priorities. As a result, safety may be impaired when integrating these COTS products into safety critical *** paper presents a fail-safe infrastructure which extends proven safety techniques to COTS-Based systems (CBS). By treating COTS components as "black boxes", the system can implement "Recovery" or "Shut Down" procedure to the COTS component which is subject to transient or some permanent faults. In this works, the architecture of the fail-safe system is introduced and how the system behaves under such fault circumstances is described.

The point of common coupling voltage during sag condition resulting due to a fault occurring on the parallel feeder in a distribution system evidently shows good dynamic response of the DVR achieved through the sweep mode control. It can also be observed that usage of sweep mode control to DVR eliminates the additional sag detection and makes the DVR multifunctional, such as the same control can be used to compensate any variation in the supply voltage.
