In this paper, the structure and the simulation results of a model between Simulink and different PLC environments (integrated development environment) will be compared. The transformation of the simulation model from Simulink into a PLC code, which is compatible to the investigated PLC environments, is realized with a self-developed code generator. Continuous Function Charts (CFC) is used as target language for the PLC environments. The investigated PLC environments are TwinCAT (Beckhoff), PCS7 (Siemens) and PC Worx (Phoenix Contact). For the comparison, a simple speed control model was designed in Simulink. The code transformation and evaluation of the structure and simulation results show, that the PLC environment of Beckhoff has the best accordance in structure with the simulation model in Simulink. However, the PLC environment of Siemens shows the best accordance the simulation results with Simulink.

This paper focuses on looking for the maximum allowable sampling period for multi-agent systems with general linear dynamical agents. As long as the sampling period is less than the bound, there exists a linear agreement protocol solving the agreement problem of the sampled-data multi-agent systems. Firstly, the agreement problem is converted to the simultaneously stabilizing problem of some specific systems. Secondly, the maximum allowable sampling period for SISO sampled-data multi-agent systems is provided based on the instable eigenvalues of continuous-time system matrix. Then by solving the H-infinity optimal control problem of certain system with uncertainty, an allowable bound of sampling period is obtained.

Although power control has been explored since 1990s, there still remains the need for further research. Since the optimization objectives always contradict each other, we propose a scheme which solves the power control problems by combining a multi-objective technology with a genetic algorithm. The proposed algorithm can realize the optimal control of power in a CDMA system. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can decrease the total transmission power consumption significantly with a low outage percentage. The system capacity is therefore increased.

This paper describes: 1) the implementation of one system for controlling and monitoring physical variables involved in starting and sustaining a three-phase centrifuged gliding-arc (TPCGA) discharge called gliding centrifugal thermal plasma (GCTP), and 2) the analysis of data collected in spreadsheets by a virtual instrument (VI) to explain plasma behavior. The goal of this work was to program a VI through LabVIEW (TM) for establishing a central unit to control the performing of the GCTP, and for recording the measurements of the analog signals involved in the process. Data are used to support the analysis and diagnosis steps. In addition, it could also help to propose a closed loop control design, because of the identification of extreme values. Instrumentation also considers the installation of an AC voltage source, gas flow valves, data acquisition cards, and current, pressure, and temperature sensors. For security reasons, a remote interface version of the VI was uploaded to internet. It can be approached when toxic gases are treated.
